"Post by PAI....." (See our letter to you on 8/24/04 please.)From: JPontic177@aol.com Date: Fri, 1 Oct 2004 12:48:33 EDT Subject: Paradise club monthly letter September 4, 2004 Dear Club member; Our next meeting will be in conjunction with our $5 Dinner with Congresswoman Shelley Berkley and Congressional District 3 Candidate Tom Gallagher Wednesday, September 20, 2004* at 6:30 PM, at our new meeting place, the Teamsters Local #14 building, 1250 Burnham Street. See map below. Please invite your friends. (*Soon after receiving this e-mail in the morning of Friday, October 1, 2004, Dr. Tony Lei called John to correct the date from September 20 to October 20. And John corrected it soon afterward with thanks.) We are getting closer and closer to the Presidential election and we must do all we can to bring the Kerry/ Edwards campaign to victory. The most important thing we can do is to get Democrats registered and then to the polls to vote. The State of Nevada with its 5 electoral votes doesn¡¯t sound very important but we are. In 2000 we only had 4 electoral votes but if we could have carried the State for Gore he would be President of the United States right now. I have a personal stake in this election as I have the honor of being one of the 5 members of the Electoral College for the Democratic Party and will go to Carson City to cast a vote when Kerry wins. Besides the Presidential race we must also work hard to elect our other Democrats to Congress, the State Senate , Assembly, County Commission and other non Partisan races where there are Democrats against Republicans. To do volunteer work call Democratic headquarters 737-8683 or stop by their new headquarters at 1325 E. Vegas Valley Dr. ( East of Maryland Pkwy). It is imperative that we keep the County Commission Democratic. We must support Tom Collins and David Goldwater in their races, to help Tom call 645-2617, David 796-5644. The Woman¡¯s Democratic Club is having a 50th Golden Anniversary Gala Dinner on Saturday October 9th at Mandalay Bay. Tickets are $125, for more information call 615-4522. I look forward to seeing you at the dinner on the 20th . John Ponticello President MARK THE $5 DINNER DOWN ON YOUR CALENDAR SO YOU WONT FORGET IT. 5555555555555555 8888888888888888888888888 666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666 *************************************************** | |
