I'll work to motivate both the good production and human relations on the work performance of our Association and the Management Company which we, the homeowners, are paying service fees to support.

Other Goals for the Association are: I have worked for our community more than 20 years based on the belief that "By the act of love itself, we are enriched. Love in action is service above self!" I love the atmosphere and environment here, and I especially love the people in our community. Vision and enthusiasm
By Tiffany Chang

The willingness to create a new vision is a statement of your belief in your potential.

---David McNally

_____________________________________________
Carl Schutz told us that, "Ideals are like stars. You will not succeed in touching them with your hands. But like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides and following them you will reach your destiny." It is our pleasure to inspire the significance of the idea, "The world of tomorrow belongs to the person who has the vision today," which was stated by Robert Schuller. Having good vision, we will bring it together with us to help promote a peaceful, happy, and healthy community.*1

"Vision seems to be an elusive yet import life principle. Your vision describes the ideal future for you to attain. It provides meaning and direction while forcing you to break through present limitations. Holding a clear picture in your mind of the desired future will mobilize your creative efforts and generate the desire and energy to perform," edited Glenn Ekeren in his book.*2

Vision may develop its power to direct what tommorrow will look like. Vision is having an acute sense of the possible. The thing what others can not see, it can be seen by vision. Something extraordinary will occur when those with similar visions are drawn together. The goal of John F. Kennedy set in 1060 to place a man on the moon by 1970 drew many million people's efforts in achieving the dream. John had the vision. The result is now history with reality.

"John F. Kennedy was a living example of Mitchell Kapor's belief that, 'If you can genuinely present a picture that makes sense to people, that unifies the seemingly disperate elements of their experience, if you can give people something they can resonate with because it's meaningful, then they'll be immensely responsive to it.' JFK presented that picture and America responded." *3

Enthusiasm is important, especially very important to many things in our lives.*4 We need to push our valuable vision through enthusiasm. We are pleased to quote the following three short but meaningful ones:

***** There is nothing greater than enthusiasm. ---Henry Moore
***** If you don't have enthusiasm, you don't have anything. ---Kemmons Wilson, Sr.
***** Nothing good or great can be done in the absence of enthusiasm. ---Tom Peters

It's our pleasure to post a short story from "Speaker's Source Book II" by Glenn Van Ekeren:

The word enthusiasm comes from the Greek roots en and theos and means "God within." It is a fire, a passion within. Real enthusiasm is not something you "put on" and "take off " to fit the occasion. It is a way of life.
Apparently Theodore Roosevelt possessed that kind of passionate lifestyle. In 1883, according to Bernard Levin, writing in Enthusiasms (Crown Publishers), Roosevelt went buffalo hunting in the Badlands of South Dakota with a single companion, Joe Ferris. They nearly died of thirst, and they slept on the ground, saddles their only pillows. One night wolves caused their horses to bolt, and it took some time for the
fleeing beasts to be recaptured. The men went back to sleep; it began to rain heavily and they awoke, finding themselves lying in four inches of water. Shivering between sodden blankets, Ferris heard Teddy Roosevelt exclaim, "By Godfrey, but this is fun!"
Now that's enthusiasm!*5

We are quite inspired by the words of wisdom as said by Alan Loy McGinnis that, "There is no more noble occupation in the world than to assist another human being--to help someone succeed." Vision with enthusiasm may bring us with hope to serve our people, community, and country!*6

"It's my great honor to be named by President Dr. Tony Lei as a Fellow of the Public Administration Institution (PAI) and an Honorary Chairman of the Clark County District and Police Civil Commission (CCDAPCC) of Washington Business and Technolgy Institute (WBTI)," pointed out the Chief Justice of Nevada Supreme Court William Maupin at the Celebration Party to "Nevada Examiner" and "Communitylink of Reviewjournal.com" at the Steak House of Binion's Horseshoe Club, Las Vegas, Nevad on October 10, 2002. The Party was held by WBTI to celebrate William Maupin's being appointed as its Fellow of the Public Administration Institution (PAI) and as its Honorary Chairman of the Clark County District Attorney and Police Civil Commission (CCDAPCC). "Please know that I irrevocably stand by my personal commitment to diversity issues in this state and that my sense of patriotism and faith in America stems from its embrace of that diversity." *7

***** Knowing how to live one's life with Jesus is a great art; and knowing how to hold him fast is the peak of wisdom. ---Thomas A. Kempis (1380-1471)

[[[Believe in what you do]]]:
Sometimes we may find that the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, it may be that they take better care of it there. People need to work. People will never know how long it takes you to do something, but they only know how well it is done. There are three things to make an individual happy in their work: They must be fit for it, they must be sometime praised, and they must have a sense of success in it. Jonn W. Gardner pointed out that, "The best-kept secret in America today is that people would rather work hard for something they believe in than enjoy a pampered idleness." God gives us the nuts, but he does not crack them. As we like our work, we do not feel that we are working during the long hours. It fascinates us, and we can sit and look at it for hours.

We are pleased to quote the following five short but meaningful ones:
***** Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize it. ---Ann Landers
***** Hard work without talent is a shame, but talent without hard work is a tragedy. ---Robert Half
***** Hard work means prosperity; only a fool idles away his time. ---Proverbs 12:11
***** I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it. ---Stephen Leacock
***** Ask God's blessing on your work, but do not also ask Him to do it. ---Waggerl

It's our pleasure to post a short story and quotation from "Speaker's Source Book" by Glenn Van Ekeren:
A carpenter whose brother was a famous musician was visiting with the foreman of the construction company where he worked. "You must feel honored to have a brother who is known around the world for his musical abilities," the foreman commented. And then, failing to recgnize that he might have hurt his worker's feeling, he continued, "Of course, not everyone in the same family can enjoy an equal amount of talent."
"You're right," the carpenter replied. "My brother donsn't know the first thing about building a home. It's fortunate he can afford to hire others to build a house for him."
B. C. Forbes suggested that "whether we find pleasure in our work or whether we find it a bore depends entirely upon our mental attitude towards it, not upon the task itself."
The same can be said of finding importance in what we do. It all depends on how we choose to see it. Maybe that is why Booker T. Washington, in 'Up From Slavery', advised his readers that "there is as much dignity in tilling a field as in writing a poem." *19

This Sunday November 19, 2006, the Sermon was delivered by Rev. Tong Liu, Senior Pastor of River of Life Christian Church. The subject was "Vessels of Honor." Through the serving, your life can be grown. Jesus said, "I come not to be served, but to serve," The 2006 theme is "Arise & Shine - Prepare the Way of the Lord." Our next year's theme will be "In Lighting the City." The Worship was directed by Henry Hu. MC was Rev. David Whitney.

"Fist of all, we must have a humble heart. Humility opens our hearts to receive God's grace for our daily accomplishments. A song says, 'If we count God's blessings, then we will rejoice,'" wroted Rev. Tong Liu on November 19, 2006. "Next, we need to be sensitive. We always try to come up with something big to thank God for during Thanksgiving. However, the fact is if we can't thank God for the small things, it's really difficult for us to give Him the glory for the big things. We must ask god to give us a sensitive heart and learn to appreciate for the small things. Let us give thanks to the Lord from today on." *20

Jesus said, "Everyone who bears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." --- Matthew 7:24-25 of the "Bible"

"Our knowledge, wisdom, and professionalism are all achieved by our sincere love to God!" pointed out President Dr. Tony T. Lei of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI).

Asian Pacific American have made profound contributions to American life, including the arts, economy, education, science, technology, politics, and sport. This community was here to help build trascontinental railroad, to serve in the Civil War, and to develop the latest Internet technology. I'm pleased to assure all you leaders of the community here today that I'll continue working to preserve and advance the heritage and value of Asian Americans. I'll put my effort to reach out and address issues of importance to the Asian American community, including the economy, education, safety, racial profiling, and hate crime, and immigration, among others. I'd like also to show my appreciation of all your accomplishments and contributions to the American way of life and your oustanding participation in the political, business , and educational processes. It's my pleasure to accept the honor as Professor of Administrative Strategies of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration of Washington Business and Technology Institute," said Harry Reid, U. S. Senator and Assistant Democratic Leader (now Democratic Leader) of the Senate at Asian American Leaders Tea with United States Senator Harry Reid on May 31, 2003 at Korean Garden B. B. Q. House in Las Vegas.*21

On the first page of the book entitled "Pray for the Spiritual Characters of Our Children" that sent by her to them, Mrs. Belinda M. Liu wrote to President Dr. Tony Lei of WBTI and his wife Judy, "Though your prayers, you make your children transfer with excellent characters. This has then becmome the good fortune of your whole family."

"It's funny how God has His timing, but thank God for that, because that's how we all learn our personal lessons in life. Like everyone eles, I'm only human -- I make mistake, and I go through the good times and the bad. But if it's one thing that I have learned, life is so much easier and far better WHEN GOD IS IN THE PICTURE," wrote Miss Frances Liu, Belinda's Daughter, at a preface of the above book.*22

Jackie Glass was appointed Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration of Washington Business and Technology Institute
By Valorie Vega, Bill Young, and Tiffany Chang

Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this;
He will mak your righteousness
shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

--- Psalm 37:5-6 of the Bible

--------------------------------------------
"To gain trust, you have to give trust. As sappy as that sounds --- and it sounds like a gurgling vat of maple syrup --- it's the basis of all successful professional relationships," wrote Rosanne Badowski.*1

The Titus 2:7-8 of Bible tells us that, "In everything set ...an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemmed." *2

In meeting with the large and growing population of public employees in the states of Asia and Nevada, Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) will open its training programs for the increasing graduate study and research needs of professional public administrators. To emphasize the balance of the practicality and theoraticality of the programs, the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of WBTI has supported by many high-ranking officials of Nevada in offering their times, experiences, and knowledge to teach at an honorary or adjunct capacity.*3

"Through the recommendations by our several faculty members including District Judge Valorie Vega and Southern Nevada Sheriff Bill Young, Ms. Jackie Glass has been appointed Adjunct Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) on March 9, 2004," announced Dr. John Wang, Spokesman of WBTI, on March 10, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Following the spirit of entrepreneurship, Jackie Glass has always been willing to take a challenge head on. Now she is on her challenge!

While still in high school, Jackie worked as a waitress to help buy her school supplies and school clothes. When she decided to attend the University of Georgia, she continued as a waitress and worked her way through college. She took on extracurricular assignments, and earned a degree in journalism.

Her journalism career brought Jackie to Las Vegas in 1978 where she began as a radio news reporter. She moved quickly to television and served as both a morning anchor and crime beat reporter. As she followed the course of the trials she covered, she watched attorneys in action, and knew she could do as well. A new challenge lay before her.

Once again, she worked her way through college, graduating from the University of San Diego School of Law. In 1984, Jackie passed the Nevada Bar exam before graduation, received her Juris Doctor Degree,*4 was admitted to the Nevada Bar, and married her husband, Steve Wolfson.

With her husband, Jackie worked to build their successful law practice while helping at her daughters' school, chaperoning field trips to Washington, DC, supporting the Girl Scouts and projects such as Nevada Reading Week.

On the professional side, Jackie has lectured at the UNLV Boyd School of Law, spoke on law topics at local high schools, and appeared on the KLVX show, "Law for the Layman". She has devoted years as a hearing master to juvenile, domestic and paternity issues as well as criminal law.

She credits her seventeen years of legal experience and her work as a journalist on the crime beat for giving her an insight for the law, the role of the judiciary, the needs of victims, and for ways to make our system work better.

She served as a member of the Las Vegas Housing Authority Board and spent six years as a Board Member of the Senior Citizens Law Project.

As a District Court Judge of Department 5, Nevada, Jackie Glass is part of a new generation involved with her family, her profession and her community to make a difference for all of us here in our Silver State.

People with integrity live with clear consciences. "To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice," stated in the Proverbs 21:3 of Bible.*5

"I agree with Judge Valorie Vega's idea to be honored as a Fellow of the Public Administration Institution (PAI) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI). She wrote: 'It will undoubtedly provide me with avenuess for exploring improvements in public services to which I am most dedicated.' I'm glad also to share the similar position as its faculty member--- Obligatory Legal Counselor of Pan Pacific and Asian American Forum (PPAAF).

"It's significant. Dr. Tony Lei told me that for community service --- that based on 'love in action is service above self' --- the abundanct reward from one's humune love, spiritual excellence, and professionalism of expertise are far more greater than solely his or her title," said Jackie Glass, Esq. on April 18, 2002. Jackie is now a famous District Judge of Nevada.*6
