Dr. Whiston and Judge Denton Invited Fellows and Chairpersons by WBTI By Tiffany ChangOn December 16, 1999, Dr. Susan C. Whiston was invited Fellow of Culture Institution and Chairperson of Career Counseling Study Committee by Washington Business and technology Instiitute (WBTI). "It's our honor to make the invitation because of her outstanding expertise and integrity both in Career Counseling and educational psychology," said Dr. Tony Lei, President of WBTI. "We are expecting that she will advance her accomplishment to provide further leadership in planning, developing, evaluating, and refining learning environments in a variety of settings to include schools, business, government agencies, and hospitals." Dr. Whiston is now Professor and Chairperson of Educational Psychology at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Since December 19, 1999, Judge Mark R. Denton has been invited Fellow of Financial Management Institution and Chairman of Civil Law Study Committee by WBTI. Judge Denton is now District Judge of Eighth Judicial District Court of Nevada. Mark was born in 1951 at Elko, Nevada. He graduatedfrom University of Nevada, Reno with distingction in spring of 1973 (Junior year in paris, France, through an affiliate of UNR, the Institute of European Studies; courses taken in French at The Institute's facility and at the Institut d' Studes Politiques, a faculty of the Universite de Paris.) He received Juris Doctor (J.D.) in May of 1976 from Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D. C. Until assuming district court bench, Mark was with the firm of Denton & Denton, Ltd. since admission to the bar in 1976. He has been engaged in the general practice of law with emphasis on the civil areas of business, commercial, corporate, real estate, probatee, local government, banking and personal injury law, including litigation in such fields. Firm has expertise in the areas of water and mining law as well, and has handled both state and federal criminal law matters also. "It has been a good gratifying to invite a gentleman of Judge Denton's both expertise and integrity with international perspective to this Institute," said WBTI President Dr. Lei. The President was very pleased to make the appointment because he thought that throughout Judge Denton's distinguished career the Judge has been earned a reputation as a conscientious and dedicated professional. Ms. Lisa Surber, a Branch Manager of the First Republic Bank, has been appointed by Dr. Lei as an Associate Fellow of Financial Management Institution of WBTI on November 3, 1999. She has recently trained and helped one of her subordinate, Torben Cohrs, become a branch manager in New York. She has managed the Branch of First Republic Bank on West Charleston of Las Vegas with creative effort for a substantial period of time. With good personal traits and capable work performance, a lady of Lisa is surely to be encouraged by Dr. Lei to attain the art of a successful management--to achieve the peak both good of production and human relations in balance. |
