From the Qian of "I Ching," people may learn that 'The sky is naturally auspicious and strong; it is good for predicting the future."*1 The following is a post from "全美台灣同鄉聯誼會" through its courtesy for ね到 (friendly and kindly post):

[The 28th Annual Convention of the Taiwan Benevolent Association of America (TBAA)],

的Paris(巴黎)賭場大飯店。

"Nothing good or great can be done in the absence of enthusiasm," pointed out Tom Peters.*4 Enthusiasm is important, especially very important to many things in our lives. A lot of people are contributing effort and wisdom to bring this coming 28th Annual Convention of the Taiwan Benevolent Association of America (TBAA) in Las Vegas at July 29-31, 2005 a success through the bright leading skills of its Chairperson Wendy Wu (吳毓苹), Secretary General Hui-ching Chen (陳惠青), and President of TBALV (拉斯維加斯台灣同鄉聯誼會) Sue Phelps (羅素娥).*5

(Xiaosheng Huang, an American attorney from Fu Niu Mountain)*4

JUDGE BETSY KOLKOSKI WON REELECTION WHEN NO ONE FILED TO RUN AGAINST HER
By Judy Lei and Cheryl Moss*1

The following letter, which was sent to Dr. Tony Lei by Judge Betsy Kolkoski from Municipal Court - Department 2, was received by him on April 16, 2005:

Dr. Tony Tung-tien Lei
2245 Homeland Street
Las Vegas, NV 89128

Dear Dr. Lei:

Your early and strong support of my reelection efforts and that of Judy's is greatly appreciated. As you know there is much hard work that goes into a campaign long before filing begins. In my case we placed fifty A-frames around the city to built early name recognition and support. While this was costly, it was one factor among several that ultimately resulted in no one filing to oppose me. Your donation helped fund this effort.

I appreciate, also, that this was the second campaign that you have supported. Old friends are the best and genuinely treasured.

Many thanks for your ongoing encouragement and support.

Sincerely,

Besty(signed)
Betsy Kolkoski

Subject: Mastectomy Bill in Congress Breast Cancer Hospitalization Bill - Important legislation for all women.
Please send this to everyone in your address book. If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard,
this is one of those times. If you are receiving this it's because I think you will take the 30 seconds to go and vote on this
issue...and send it on to others you know who will do the same. There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act
which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's
about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy" where women are forced to go home hours after surgery against the wishes
of their doctor, still groggy from anaesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.
Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show your support. Last year over half the House
signed on. PLEASE!!!! Sign the petition by clicking on the web site below. You need not give more than your name and zip

(Xiaosheng Huang, an American attorney from Fu Niu Mountain)*4

Michael Douglas has been appointed Associate Professor of GSBPA by WBTI
By Mark Denton, Valoria Vega, and Tiffany Chang

"Through the recommendations by our faculty members including Nevada District Judges Mark Denton and Valoria Vega, Dr. Michael Douglas has been appointed Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration by Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) on February 3, 2005," announced Dr. John Wang, Spokesman of WBTI, on Monday, February 7, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada, U. S. A.

"It's really my pleasure and honor to be named as an Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration of WBTI. WBTI has a good reputation with its Advisory Board and faculty members. The Board has Governor Kenny Guinn as its Chairman; U. S. Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign as Vice Chairmen; U.S. Representatives James Gibbons and Shelley Berkley, and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman as Executive Directors. With the excellent and informative publications of 'Next Weekly' and among others, high-ranking officials of Nevada have been inspired to help realize the creed for community service and humane spirit of WBTI," expressed Justice Michael Douglas at the Event and Dinner Party in the Emperor's Garden Restaurant on February 4, 2005 in Las Vegas. It was held by the Committee to implement the ART EXHIBIT of Mr. QIN QUAN XIONG.

Justice Michael Douglas, the first African American justice in Nevada抯 history, was appointed to the Court in March 2004 to fill the vacancy that resulted from the death of Justice Myron E. Leavitt. Justice Douglas抯 appointment to the Supreme Court is the culmination of a 22-year legal career in Nevada that began by chance when he accepted what he thought was going to be a temporary job with Nevada Legal Services. Michael was elected in November 2, 2004 as Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court.

Justice Douglas, a native of Los Angeles, came to Las Vegas in 1982 from Philadelphia, Pa., where he had been working in private practice. The justice said he chose Las Vegas because he wanted to move back west and had a cousin living in the city. After two years at Nevada Legal Services, Justice Douglas was hired by the Clark County District Attorney抯 Office and served in the Civil Division until 1996. In January 1996, he was appointed to the Eighth Judicial District Court bench and was retained in the election later that year, serving until his appointment to the Supreme Court. At the District Court, he served as Business Court judge along with handling a variety of civil and criminal cases. He was elected Chief District Judge in October 2003.

A graduate of California State College, Long Beach, in 1971 and the University of California Hastings College of Law in 1974, Justice Douglas has been a member of the Judicial Council of the State of Nevada and Vice President of the Nevada District Judges Association. He is president of the Nevada American Inns of Court, an organization of judges, lawyers and law students that promotes excellence and civility in the legal profession.
...................................
"We're pleased to have Justice Michael Douglas's interest in offering his caliber whose integrity, knowledge, and experience may bring to the School a professional and judicial perspective," points out President Dr. Tony Lei of WBTI. "Throughout Justice Michael Douglas's distinguished career, he has accomplished a great deal of judicial practice and earned a good reputation as a conscientious and dedicated professional."

To build a world in the knowledge of business and economics
By Cheryl Moss and Tiffany Chang*1

Eric Chen, Esq., is also a many years experienced Taiwanese merchant in China. His idea is to inspire some people to build a world in the knowledge of business and economics for China like what Dr. Charles Kao did for Taiwan.

Dr. Charles Kao is former Professor & Chairman and now Honorary Professor of University of Wisconsin. "I couldn't catch up Dr. Tony Lei's dinner party at his home in Ging Ning Mansion, but I'll have coffee hour with him and others professors eventually in the party," said Dr. Kao in Taipei early in the morning one day many years ago.

Inspired by Dr. Tony Lei's many publications in business management demonstrated on the Wine Closet in the parlor, Dr. Charles Kao applaused, "Do it brightly and we may make the same excellency also. I'm interested in following Tony's creativeness to pioneer even a bigger economics and business world here soon after I come back from United States."*2

Within ten years, he established the Empire of "Tien Shia" ["The World"(The Lord) in Chinese] in Taiwan! His popularity and influence to the people in Taiwan have been offered him accomplishment much more than just his splendid academic title.

It is our pleasure to post "KAOS announce major gift to UW-River Falls," which was a news delivered by University of Wisconsin -River Falls:

Dr. Charles H.C. Kao and Mrs. Anne Kao have made a leader- ship pledge of $50,000 over the next five years to be used toward the accomplishment of the University's "Reach for the Future" major gifts campaign.
In announcing their gift, Dr. Kao indicated it was their wish to support three important areas of the University: faculty development, Academic Excellence Higher Education Education Scholarships, and exchange programs with Greater China.
Dr. and Mrs. Kao have been generous supporters of international programs for many years. Most recently, they were instrumental in the establishment of the Center for Pacific Rim Studies. The Center is responsible for providing opportunities for visiting professors and artists from Asia to visit the UW-River Falls campus and promoting educational exchanges between the two cultures. A portion of their gift will be used to underwrite faculty development opportunities and scholarships in the College of Arts &Sciences.
Elected as the Distinguished Professor of the Year in 1974, Dr. Kao was the chair of the department of economics from 1971-80. Since then he has devoted part of his time in Greater China (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong) involved in research, lecturing, writing and publishing. Known as a "leading thinker" in Greater China, Dr. Kao has written more than 15 books in Chinese in his field of economic policy and social thought. Two of his books were given the national prize in Taiwan. In addition to his academic activity, he has also been serving as an economic advisor to the central government there.
Mrs. Kao had a successful 25-year career with 3M Company and is currently working for IBM in Beijing as a computer systems consultant. She is very interested in international programs and cultural exchange in the arts.*3

Dr. Tony Lei transferred the education of BBA and MBA in the United States of America to Taiwan. The intellectuals who joined him were many professors, scholars, administrators, publishers, among others. All of them together, for many years, helped bring the Miracle of Economy of Taiwan realized. "Together with the successful experience of economic deveopment in Taiwan, now is the time for China to advance it even better!" said Eric Chen.
