Dear Dad,

Here is my cell group email this week.

Blessings,

Mike

Date: Monday, February 11, 2013, 8:15 PM

Dear all,

How's your week going so far? Happy Lunar New Year!

Do you remember Pastor Cheng's message this Sunday? Here are the main points.

"The Year of Double Blessing"

I. The is the year of the Lords favor
A.He will grant you salvation and freedom
B.He will give you abundant life
1. Glory, no more shame
2. Joy, no more tear
3. Hope, no more fear

II. The Lord will grant you double blessing
A. Wisdom and strength to rebuild
B. Honor and grace to serve Him
C. Double portion of His promises
1. Double portion of inheritance
2. Everlasting joy

From the Sunday messages, we see that God wants to take us higher this year, He wants us to return back to our first love for Jesus and our love for those close to us, and to enjoy a year of double blessings.

God is showing us that the Spring time is coming to the English Congregation. You can sense it during the worship this Sunday. Praise the Lord! We had so many new visitors this Sunday. :) I encourage you all to come to the Sunday Equipping Class at 1:45pm so that you will be equipped to serve in God's power in this time of revival.

There is no cell materials for this Friday. Pastor Doris is encouraging the couples to spend time together during this Valentines. I would like to meet together this Friday to share what we learned and experienced at the Valentine's Party this Thursday. Then, we will spend some time to pray for each other in the area of relationship. So just come to G13 at 7:45pm this Friday for the time of sharing and prayer.

Let's pray for God to abundantly bless this Thursday's Valentine's Party that everyone will be encouraged and blessed. It starts at 7pm in the fellowship hall. Pray for the people who are helping with the event that everything will go well.

I pray that we will be bold to reach out to all the new people we will meet on Thursday. May we be filled with God's love to be a blessing to others. We love because God first loved us.

Have a blessed week.

Your servant,

Mike

Dear Dad,

Here is my email to the cell group this week.

Blessings,

Mike

Dear all,

How's your week so far?

Were you blessed by Doug Shaw's message this Sunday? What touched you from his message? For me, it was when he talked about how people of different faiths are getting together to study the bible. It shows me how there are non-Christian people who really want to know God and read His Word. Let's build up ourselves in knowing God's Word so we can help others to know Him.

Please read this week's cell material before the meeting.

Spiritual Sharing this week : "The Author and Perfector of our faith"

In today's reading (Genesis 46-47), I like to share from Genesis 46:1-3

"So Israel set out with all that was his, and when he reached Beersheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac. And God spoke to Israel in a vision at night and said, Jacob! Jacob!

Here I am, he replied. I am God, the God of your father, he said. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there."

Jacob in his old age (130yrs) received news that his son Joseph is still alive. This news energized him to move all his family and property to Egypt to meet with Jospeh. He was again on the move and offering sacrifices to God. God reassured him that he is doing the right thing. Sometimes we don't know what is the right thing to do. We feel stuck and don't feel like to do anything. Yet when the news of Joseph reached Jacob, his energy returned. He can move his entire family (70+ sons' wives) even though he has settled there for a long time. God strengthened Jacob's faith even as he move forward by faith.

Has God called you to do something, but you don't know how to proceed? Just take the step of faith that God has shown you and leave the rest up to God. As we walk in God's will, God will personally confirm it and strengthen us to move forward. But we need to be sensitive to what God is saying. So that's why we need to cultivate our relationship with God through daily bible reading and prayer.

Remember that Jesus is the author of our faith and He will perfect our faith. Let's trust in Him and focus on Jesus to lead us forward.

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2)

Have a blessed week.

Mike

Spiritual Sharing this week : "Jesus Culture: live for God's glory"

I will share more about my experience at Jesus Culture Conference this Friday. The main message I got was to live for God's glory. For me that means to step out in faith to pursue those things that I know would bring God the most glory. I'm reminded by Bill Johnson's message not to despise God's material blessings. I realize how God wants to bless others through both the spiritual and material blessings that He give to us.

Today's bible reading plan is from Job 40-42. We see that God showed up at the end to answer Job's complaints. God pointed to all the wonderful things that He do. There are things we don't understand that only God knows. At the end Job says: "I know that you can do all things and that no plan of yours can be ruined." (Job 42:2)

The book of Job had a story-book ending. Job 42:15 tells us that "The LORD blessed the last part of Job's life even more than the first part. Job had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand teams of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys."

Why did God let Job go through all these troubles and then bless him "twice as much" as before?
Have you seen God's glory in your life? Did God display His glory through the troubles or through the blessings? May we see more of God's glory this week. :)

Have a blessed week.

Mike

Spiritual Sharing this week "It's Ok to say Merry Christmas"

This Sunday, Pastor Doris shared with us how the church wanted to buy a billboard that says "It's Ok to say Merry Christmas" to encourage people to say "Merry Christmas" during this Christmas season. However, the billboard company tells them that if people complain, they would need to change the sign. It's amazing how even a greeting like "Merry Christmas" can become so sensitive to people nowdays. But we need to realize that people in other countries don't have such ideas.

Last night in my company's "Holiday Dinner Party", the CEO, who is Japanese, in his speech mentioned "this Christmas Party" and "Christmas" and "Merry Christmas". I just thought "God bless your heart". Even for him from Japan, they still remember that this is the Christmas season and that the proper greeting is to say "Merry Christmas".

Let us remember that Christmas is not just an American holiday, but that people all over the world are celebrating Christmas. Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. May we remember the reason for the season and celebrate Christmas as it is being celebrated all over the world. How much more when Jesus is our Lord and Savior and friend.

Have a blessed week.

Mike

Spiritual Sharing this week "Preparing for Christmas"

Today's Church Bible Reading Plan "Scriptural Prayer" is from 1 Peter 4:7-8. Below are the verses and the prayer from the Bible Reading Plan.

"The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."

"My prayer: "Dear Lord, please help us to be alert and of sober mind for this generation. The end of all things is near, so that we can lay down our own opinions to love each other because true love covers sins."

I see how these verses tie together with Sunday's message on unity. How can we be united in the midst of all the diversity in the church? Only when we are willing to lay down our own opinions to love each other. What a wonderful prayer! This can only be accomplish through yielding to God's Spirit to work in us to "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians 4:2)". Again, I have to say "Wow!" I'm just amazed at what God's Spirit can produce in us!

So, what does all this have to do with preparing for Christmas? Well, first we have the combined cell group Christmas Party on 12/15, which is a great way to see our unity in action. Second, in this hectic and exciting Christmas season, it's a good reminder to be sober minded so that we can pray and not be carried away with all the festivities and excitement. Lastly, it shows us the attitude we should have in this season: which is to love each other with humbleness, gentleness, and patience when people may be especially busy, lonely, or distracted.

Have a blessed week.

Mike

Spiritual Sharing this week "Portland Reflections"

Since some people asked me about my trip to Portland, I thought this would be a good place to share what I experienced and learned there.

This past week I went to Portland to take a class in "Cultural Anthropology" at Western Seminary. The study of "culture" is important because missionaries need to understand the cultures of the people they are trying to share God's Word. Having an understanding of the people's culture, society, and language will help missionaries explain better God's Word to them. For example, in some societies, the succession and inheritance are passed through the female line. So the missionary need to understand this when trying to explain the meaning of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and how the royal line of King David is passed down.

It's amazing how God speaks the same things through different people. In the class, the professor stressed to us the importance of our relationship to God in our interactions with God and others. He sees many times Christian studies are focused on our functions, instead of seeing our relationship with God as the foundation of everything we do. When we understand our relationship with God, then we can understand our purpose and function. This Sunday Pastor Doris started her sermon talking about our relationship to God as "pais", meaning both "child or son" and "servant". Again, God is showing me through the sermon that my relationship with Him is the reason why I serve. "We love because He first loved us." (1 John 4:19). How great is God's love for us to be called His sons!

May you enjoy your relationship with God as His "pais".

Have a blessed week.

Mike

Spiritual Sharing this week "Blessings in disguise"

In today's church bible reading, we read Psalm 68. Here are some verses that touched me:

6a God sets the lonely in families,
he leads out the prisoners with singing;

9 You gave abundant showers, O God;
you refreshed your weary inheritance.

19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens.

This has been a blessed weekend with Cindy Jacobs coming to speak at our church and Scott and Pam getting married. What a beautiful wedding day! To see Scott and Pam at church conference right after their wedding is such a beautiful picture of God's love and grace. Some blessings we can see so clearly. For example, we saw people being filled with the Holy Spirit, generations being healed as they spoke words of love to each other, and people coming to receive Christ as Savior.

Some blessings come in disguise. For me personally, it has been a week distracted with car issues. On Tuesday as I'm returning from lunch, a car had trouble stopping behind me and bumped into the back of my car. It was a minor accident. I got healing prayer for my back on Wednesday. Last night as I was driving home. I was almost home when my car started to stall. I stopped the car, but couldn't get it running after that. I tried putting gas into the car, but it didn't help. As I'm standing outside trying to call AAA, I'm reminded of a friend who recently had car problems. Right then, God convicted me about my lack of sympathy and helpfulness in that situation. I'm reminded that one of the blessings of experiencing troubles is that we can sympathize and help others who are experiencing simliar things.

As I'm standing outside waiting for the tow truck, it started to sprinkle. Then it sprinkled more and more. As I look for shelter, I'm reminded how with all the things we have, God has already provided so much for us. Even basic things like a shelter. When it rains, I should always be thankful there's a roof over my head.

So the verses above spoke to me about God's kindness and blessings to us, even though we may forget those are His blessings. What blessings in disguise you can be thankful about?

Have a blessed week.

Your servant,

Mike

P.S.
Thank God today the dealership told me that the problem was caused by a faulty part that they put in last month, so the repair will be covered by the warranty. That's a big relief!

Spiritual Sharing this week "Open Heavens Conference"

As you may know this past week, I went to the "Open Heavens Conference" @ Bethel church in Redding for the Leadership Training.

We heard from Bishop Joseph Garlington, Bill Johnson, and Eric Johnson. I've been challenged and touched by their messages. I really sensed God's presence during the worship and could not help but fall on my knees many times during the worship. When we are in the presence of a holy and majestic God, our only response is to fall down and worship.

Bishop Joseph Garlington preached from Hebrews 10:32-39.

Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For,

In just a little while,
he who is coming will come
and will not delay.

And,

But my righteous one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure
in the one who shrinks back.

But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

This conference reminds me to continue doing the things God has touched my heart to do. I must not shrink back despite the pressures I'm encountering in the world. I must keep the vision I have from God, believing in His promises. There may be a lot of pressures in the world to tempt us to shrink back in our faith, but God Himself will continue to light that fire in our hearts to move us forward. With God's help, we will persevere and endure. When we feel like we can't go forward anymore, God tells us "in just a little while", He will come. "God trusts you more than you trust yourself!" (quote from Eric Johnson).

Remember how when we started the Christian walk, we were willing to put up with anything to know God more and to serve Him? Don't throw away that confidence you had, for it will be richly rewarded. Sometimes, between the time when we hear God's promise to the time we receive what God promised, there's a lag time. We may not know how long is that lag time, but the verse encourages us to not give up too soon.

The most memorable line from Bishop Joseph Garrington is from a coach who told this to his players (you need to hear Andrew Chow say it to get the full effect):

"Fight until you can fight no more! When you can't fight no more, lay down and bleed a while... Then Get up and FIGHT SOME MORE!!!"

Have a blessed week.

Mike

Spiritual sharing this week: "More about persecution/Cell leader intern training"

This past Friday, we had a good discussion on the topic of persecution. I feel there's more I could have prepared for the discussion, so here are some additional thoughts.

Andrew asked: "What is the definition of persecution?". Afterwards, I looked up some references and see that it means to "harass and oppress".

Matthew 5:10-12 says:
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

I know there are a lot of different kinds of persecutions in the world. People are persecuted for their religious beliefs, race, social status, views, gender, etc... But, the persecution talked about here deals with persecution against Jesus and His righteousness.

Some personal reflections:
1) I should be careful that I don't unknownly persecute others, even my brothers and sisters.
2) There are a lot of persecutions in the world for various reasons. As a Christian I should do my part to stop persecutions because Jesus commands us to "love your neighbor as yourself".
3) I should not fear persecution when I speak God's truth in love because Jesus promises He will be with us and we will be richly rewarded.

This past Saturday 7 of us from the cell group attended the Cell Leader Intern Training. I gained a lot from the afternoon sessions (I missed the morning). I learned how our cell group worship should help everyone to participate and not try to copy what other people do for Sunday worship. I am reminded that leading the Word means to help others share what they learned from God's Word. I am reminded of the qualities of a cell leader: FAST (Faithful, Available, Submissive, Teachable). I am reminded that I need to pray more for the members. As I shared before, I have a vision for the multiplication of the group. But through this training, it shows me how important it is to lay a good foundation before we can multiply. Please pray that God will help me to apply all that I learned. Thanks!

One thing that was suggested is to pray for 2 people we want to invite to the cell group. If you have the names of 2 people you like to invite to the cell group, can you let me know so we can pray for them during the prayer time?

Have a blessed week.

Dear all,

How's your week so far?

Do you remember from Pastor Cheng's message how we can live out our destiny?

I. Jesus wants to restore your destiny
II. Jesus is able to set you free
1. He will heal you from your hurt
2. He will free you from your bondages
3. He will forgive you of your sins
III. Three steps to set you free and live out your destiny
1. Seek God with all your heart
2. Welcome Jesus gladly
3. Do what Jesus wants you to do immediately

Please spend some time this week to sit with God and ask Him to reveal any hurts, bondages, sins and ask God to help you deal with them through forgiveness, confession, and repentance.

Spiritual Sharing this week: "God and science"

In our church bible reading plan this past week, we wrapped up the reading in the Book of Job of the Old Testament. The Book of Job ends with quite a finale when God finally answers Job from a storm. God points to His creation to show Job how wonderful is His ways.

The New Testament also mentions this. Romans 1:20 says: "For since the creation of the world Gods invisible qualitieshis eternal power and divine naturehave been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." God has revealed His power and character to us through His creation.

Even greater, God has revealed Himself to us through His Son Jesus Christ, "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him." (Colossians 1:16)

As I read God's response to Job, I noticed many fields of science being mentioned. Whether people acknowledge it or not, science is ultimately the study of God's creation!

Here are a couple of fields of science being mentioned.

Astronomy: "Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades? Can you loosen Orions belt? Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons or lead out the Bear with its cubs?" (Job 38:31-32)

Physics: "Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up Gods dominion over the earth?" (Job 38:33)

Geology: "Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth? Tell me, if you know all this." (Job 38:18)

Life science: "Do you know when the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch when the doe bears her fawn? (Job 39:1)

Chemistry: "From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens" (Job 38:29)

I remember enjoy reading science magazines when I'm young. However, recently I find myself being turned off when reading science articles because of the frequent mention of evolution. Though I disagree with the theory of "macro-evolution", which explains the origin of life as purely random acts of nature. The creation of each species is clearly state in Genesis 1:25. However, I should not "throw the baby out with the bath water". Science is the study of God's creation and I should keep myself informed and interested in it.

As we grow in our knowledge of God, may we also grow in the knowledge of His creation, which is to "love God with all our mind".

Finally, here is a quote from the Sir Isaac Newton: Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done." (http://www.icr.org/fb/Newton/)

Have a great week!

Spiritual Sharing this week: "Timeout"

This past week, I went on a work trip. I didn't get much sleep during the trip. When I came back, I came down with a bad cold. All day Saturday I was resting. I drank lots of water and even went to gym to use the sauna. I also had some time to listen to Christian radio and reflect on this experience. I see how due to my lack of rest, my body had called a "timeout" through this cold.

As you may know "timeout" are used in basketball, football, and other games to stop the action so the players and coaches can regroup and hopefully get back to play the game better. "Timeout" is also a term used for the popular parenting method of disciplining the child without spanking by asking the child to stand or sit in a corner to calm down and think about what they did wrong.

Sometimes a physical "timeout" coincides with a spiritual "timeout". I can think of the Apostle Paul, before he was being used mightily by God to tell people about the love of Christ, he was Saul, the zealous Pharisee who wanted to put all Christians in jail. At the height of his anti-Christian zealousness, God stepped in to give him a timeout. Let's see what happened (Acts 9:3-9):

As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?
Who are you, Lord? Saul asked.
I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, he replied. Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.
The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

We might imagine how Paul must have felt being blind during those three days. Even though he can't do anything, he used the time to fast and pray. After his physical sight was restored, he was filled with the Holy Spirit and the rest is history.

I see 2 lessons that can be learned from our "timeouts". 1) Take care of ourselves physically and spiritually so God don't need to call too many timeouts on us 2) During our timeouts, make the most of the opportunity to be restored physically and spiritually.

Thanks for all your prayers for me to be able to recover so quickly! :)

Have a blessed week.

Mike

Spiritual Sharing this week: "How to comfort others"

In our church bible reading plan, we are currently reading in the book of Job for the Old Testament. As I read this book, I'm struck by how the book gives us some important lessons on how to and not to comfort people in the midst of their distress. We can learn from Job's friends as they attempted to console their deeply hurting friend.

They did well at first by comforting Job with their presence (Job 3:11-13).
"When Jobs three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him. When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their robes and sprinkled dust on their heads. Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering was."

But then, Job's friend made things worse by rejecting Job's complaints, trying to figure out why it happened, and focusing on the wrong things like Job's character or why God is just to let this thing happen.

1. Rejecting Job's complaints
Eliphaz the Temanite: "Resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple" (Job 5:2)
Bildad the Shuhite: How long will you say such things? Your words are a blustering wind. (Job 8:2)

2. Trying to explain to Job why this is happening
Eliphaz the Temanite: "I myself have seen a fool taking root, but suddenly his house was cursed." (Job 5:3)
Bildad the Shuhite: "When your children sinned against him, he gave them over to the penalty of their sin." (Job 8:4)

3. Focusing on the wrong things
Eliphaz the Temanite: "Should not your piety be your confidence and your blameless ways your hope?" (Job 4:6)
Bildad the Shuhite: "Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right?" (Job 8:3)

How does God want us to comfort others?
1) Listen to them and allow them to share their feelings - "mourn with those who mourn" (Romans 12:15)
2) Point them to God who is the God of all comforts (2 Corinthians 1:3)
3) Remind them of God's faithfulness, unfailing love - speaking God's word for their comfort (1Corinthians 14:3)

I find in my own experiences that the best spiritual explanation of why something happened is never as comforting as someone listening and encouraging me in my faith and trust in the Lord. Ultimately we want to know if God is still there and if He still loves us. We know this is true, but we need to be reminded and encouraged with God's promises. May God help us to be good comforters. :)

BTW, please pray that I can fly back on time this Friday. My flight is scheduled to arrive in San Jose at 6pm. Thanks!

Have a blessed week.

Mike

Spiritual Sharing this week: "Why Jesus?"

Thank you all for your prayers. I was able to complete my assignment for the class "Religions of the World" by visiting 3 places of worship last Friday. I visited a Jewish school, a Zen Buddhist center, and a Muslim community center. I was able to ask the people there to explain to me some things about their religion. With the outreach coordinator at the Muslim community center, I was able to engage in good discussions about their religion and views of God.

In studying the religions of the world, I see that some emphasize the equality of all mankind, some emphasize self-improvement, and many emphasize doing more good deeds than bad. However, what is so unique about Christianity?

Christianity seeks to tell everyone the good news that "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life". (John 3:16)

I realized that as I converse with persons of other religions, I need to somehow explain to them why Jesus has to die on the cross for our sins, why Jesus is the only way to the Heavenly Father, why Jesus is fully God and fully man, and why without Jesus there is no salvation. I can discuss with them about many things, but in the end God needs to open their heart to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

I pray that God will continue to fill our hearts daily with the love of Christ and our minds with all wisdom so that we can effectively share Jesus with others and live a life that others can see Jesus through us. As Christians, you are part of God's plan to bring salvation to the world. Let us continue to pray and trust God to use us to share the good news to the world.

Have a blessed week.

Spiritual Sharing this week: "Overcoming Procrastination"

I've shared with some people that recently I'm a little behind in my seminary school work. I had to request a 2 weeks extension to complete my assignments. I don't think I've ever requested an extension in all my years of studying. But, I've learned to admit when I can't meet a deadline, and not try to meet the deadline at all cost to the detriment of my physical or spiritual well-being.

Why did I have trouble completing the assignments this time? I attribute one of the reasons to the fear of the unknown. You see, one of the assignments I need to do for my class is to visit 3 places of worship that are not Christian and ask the people there about their religion. Honestly, I really don't want to go to these places. I feared what I might encounter when I go there. This fear has caused me to put off doing the assignment until now. However, I realized that I shouldn't let this fear hinder me from doing the assignment.

Romans 8:37-39 tells us: "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Praise the Lord! He has given us the power to overcome all our fears.

Another reason I see for my procrastination is the fear of looking bad. When I see some of the assignments that I'm not sure if I can do a good job, I put off doing it. However, I need to remember that God has already taken away all my shame as well.

Romans 8:1 tells us that "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death."

Thank God for He will help me overcome my procrastination! :) He can help you too when you feel paralyzed by fears.

Please pray that when I go to those places of worship to do my assignment, I can share the gospel of Jesus Christ as well.

Thanks and have a blessed week!

Your servant,

Mike

Spiritual Sharing this week: "Preparing for multiplication"

Our church is a cell-based church. The cell is the basic Christian community where members are build up and care for one another, using spiritual gifts and support systems. Each cell is on a mission. It is constantly in touch with the unreached, constantly ministering to them.

My hope is that we will be build up so we can be ready to multiply the group. I'm praying that God will allow our group to multiply by the end of the year. As I've shared with some people, if we aim at nothing, we will hit it everytime. Therefore, as a cell group, we need to set our goals in line with the vision of the church. We may not always get there in our own time frame, but God will lead us. To prepare for the multiplication, starting this Friday, we will have 2 discussion groups during the Word time only. We will be all together for icebreaker, worship, prayer, announcements, and refreshment. Praise the Lord! I see from last Friday's attendance that we need to move forward in this. We will have semi-random assignment of the discussion groups each week, counting off 1,2,1,2... with the mentor and one being mentored in the same group. I also believe the smaller discussion groups will facilitate more discussions and spiritual growth.

Let's continue to Rejoice always, Pray unceasingly, and Give thanks in all circumstances and we will see God's kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Have a blessed week.

Spiritual Sharing this week: "What to do after the healing?"

This past week many of us have experienced some kind of healing and deliverance. We have learned more about the things in the past that can still have an influence on our life today, even as Christians. Such things as traumas of the past, unforgiveness, unconfessed sins of the past, unhealthy relationship bonds and influences can allow Satan to gain a foothold in our life. But praise the Lord that Jesus can deliver us, heal us, and set us free. Just like in receiving salvation, we need to be humble to repent and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. After becoming a Christian, we need to continue to be humble to receive healing and deliverance through God's power and grace.

What should we do after receiving healing from God? Let's look at this story from Luke 17:11-19.

11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, Jesus, Master, have pity on us!
14 When he saw them, he said, Go, show yourselves to the priests. And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus feet and thanked himand he was a Samaritan.
17 Jesus asked, Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner? 19 Then he said to him, Rise and go; your faith has made you well.

Do we sometimes forget to offer God our thanksgiving and worship after being healed? Let us not take God's healing for granted as His children. We know God loves us and wants to pour out His blessings on us. Let us always respond to God's grace and mercy with deep gratitude. What are some tangible ways we can show our thanksgiving and worship to the Lord this week? May you do them and be rewarded for your faith.

Have a blessed week.

Your servant,

Mike

Dear all,

How's your week so far? Have you thought about how you are the "living word" God has sent into the world? Remember this Sunday's message? "God has sent you!" Here are the main points of the message:

1. God is madly in love with you.
2. God needs to work through His
Word in your body.
a. The first body form is Jesus.
3. You have been sent by God into
the world.
4. You are the expression of Gods
Word to the world.
5. Expect tribulation in this world
and be prepared.
a. Rejoice in hope.
b. Be patient in tribulation.
c. Be constant in prayer.

Make Jesus known to your world!!

Let us remember that we are sent by God to the world to make known Jesus to the world. You may not think you are influencing the people around you. But you are! God is using you to be the the light and salt in the world. May we remember that we are ambassadors of Christ everyday in the world, whether we are aware of it or not.

Spiritual sharing this week: "God's fellow workers"

Monday's Scriptural Prayer is from 1 Corinthians 3:7-9: "So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are Gods fellow workers; you are Gods field, Gods building."

It's great to see everyone come out on Saturday to the BBQ. It is wonderful to see everyone have the same heart to serve God through welcoming newcomers, helping with whatever they were called to do, and enjoying the fellowship.

Speaking of labor. May God reward you for all the hard work put into preparing for the BBQ and during the BBQ. Serving the Lord is truly a joy. I heard that 7 people accepted Christ during the BBQ. Praise the Lord!!!

Yes, we are God's fellow workers. We are His field, His building. Let us continue to serve the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. This includes whatever we do at home, at school, at work, at church, etc...

Let's continue to pray for God to give us strength to serve Him and do everything according to His will.

Have a blessed week.

Your servant,

Mike
