Peace on earth and good will to men By Tiffany Chang On November 28, Dr. Tony Lei was pleased to receive a nice Christmas card from Mrs. Young, who is the wife of former President of Pepperdine University, Dr. M. Norvel Young. Dr. Lei was used to be hosted by the couple during his MBA and EdD scholarship programs in Pepperdine College and Pepperdine University. Dr. Young invited him to have a reunion dinner party offerring by a successful entrepreneur alumnus in Taipei when Dr. Lei was a professor at the Graduate School of Business Administration of National Chunghsing University. Dr. Young wished that the Chapter of Pepperdine University Association of the Republic of China would be most appropriated under the leadership of Dr. Lei. Mrs. Young quoted from Henry Longfellow that: "I heard the bells on Christmas day Their old familiar carols play, And wild and sweet The words repeat, Of 'Peace on earth, good will to men!' "This year, with the serious illness of my daughter, Marilyn Stewart, and my need to assist her family, we have decided to not have our annual holiday reception," said Mrs. Young. Dr. Lei will pray sincerely for Marilyn's healing and for strength for her family. In her card, Mrs. Young put the message from the Psalm that, "Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thankgiving and extol him with music and song." "Our sons, John and Mike, are flying back home for the festivel from their offices in Dallas and San Francisco, respectively. Julian, our dear, we have a reunion party again this Saturday evening. We shall have a center seat for you. Be with us please," says Dr. Tony Lei. Dr. Lei used to remind that every and many times of their reunion dinners, Julian's nature and apperance had brought a lot of joyful and spiritual atmosphere. Dr. and Mrs. Lei love Nevadan seniors heartifully since they moved here from California in 1993. Mrs. Lillian Wallace, Julian's wife over ninety years of age, is invited by them to join their family reunion at the Gee Joon Chinese Restaurant of Horseshoe Casino and Hotel on December 22, 2001.
