Lei President (702) 255-9058 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freedom, Democracy, and Entrepreneurship By GSBPA of WBTI "Lee Iacocca told us that management is nothing more than motivating other people. I agree with U. S. Congresswoman as once she said that the knowledge delivered by the publications of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) through its multimedia inspire us with a positive thinking to love our people, community, professionalism, and country. I'm impressed that the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of WBTI quoted again lots of valuable words of positive thinking," said Judge Natalie Tyrrell, Justice of the Peace of North Las Vegas. She likes to read the WBTI website (http://communitylink.reviewjournal.com/lvrj/wbti) with colorful and creative design. Even as the number 36,000th visitor of the website, she is proud to be on the list. We express regret for that the numbers of this website are limited because of its contends by nature of the academic and professioal features. People may ask that "How many people could and should be the readers of the book written by our famous scientist Albert Einstein?" We are quite encouraged through the commends by Dr. Andy Benton, U. S. Senator John Ensign, Dr. Charles Runnels, U. S. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, among others. And thus, we try to offer you the following inspiration of words: "A word aptly spoken is like apple of gold in settings of silver." --- Proverbs 25 : 11 "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves." Romans 12 : 10 "Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of one's friend spring from his earnest counsel." --- Proverbs 27 : 9 "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." --- Proverbs 15 : 22 "The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining." --- John F. Kennedy "Seven days without laughter makes one weak." --- Joel Goodman "Today, more than ever before, every person is a potential user of computers." --- Marilyn Bohl, in her Preface of Information Processing, 3rd Ed., 1980. "To be a college or graduate student at this new era, especially in the field of business, she or he should owns four kinds of ability in computing: (1) Word processing, (2) Electronic spreadsheets, (3) Data base management, and (4) Statistical analysis and Charts. As a modern manager and any professionl in business, she or he is more productive in work performance with her or his good talent in computers. --- Tony Tung-tien Lei, M. B. A. in his Preface of Mangement Information, 1st Ed. Dec. 1987. "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." --- Proverbs 16 : 3 "He who loves a pure heart and whose speech is gracious will have the king for his friend." --- Proverbs 22 : 11 "All hard work brings a profit." --- Proverbs 14 : 23 "The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty." --- Proverbs 21 : 5 "The reward for work done is the opportunity to do more." --- Jonas Salk, MD "I think the next best thing to solving a problem is finding some humor in it." --- Frank A. Clark "Freedom is the oxygen of the soul." --- Moshe Dayan "With sincere love, it's like living in Heaven. On the other hand, with cruel hate, it's like living in Hell. Fighting and malice for selfish gain belong to Hell. Cooperation and encouragement to promote quality of life are attitudes of Heaven." --- Tony T. Lei, Ed. D. "Do to others as you would have them do to you." --- Luke 6 : 31 "A man finds joy in giving an apt reply --- and how good is a timely word!" --- Proverbs 15 : 23 "One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty." --- Proverbs 11 : 24 "The great Winston Churchill said, 'We all make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.' Tony, I know that you like to exemplify this inspiration same as it's my driving force by which I start out each day." --- Natalie L. Tyrrell "Freedom, Democracy, and Entrepreneurship are the best three treasures of the United States of America." --- Dr. Tony T. Lei "What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?" --- Vincent Van Gogh "Nothing great was ever done without much enduring." --- St. Catherine of Siena "Anthing you're good at contributes to happiness." --- Bertrand Russell "To a friend's house the road is never long." --- Anonymous "The secrete of joy in work is contained in one word --- excellence. To know how to do something well is to enjoy it." --- Pearl Buck "The paralleled practice of both the positive thinking and love in action through the skills with good personal traits such as enthusiam, belief, intellegence, creativity, judgement, liveliness, vision, courage, desire to excel, and persistence, will help people pursue a rich , happier , and successful life." --- Tony T. Lei President (702) 255-9058 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- December 30, 2002 Fifth Edition Chief Justice Bill Maupin names Dr. Tony Lei as a 'Son of Nevada' By Cheryl Moss, Jessie Walsh, and Tiffany Chang It is not unusual here in Nevada to have an individual who always gives herself or himself to the work both for the people and in Lord, because she or he knows that her or his labor for the people and in Lord is not in vain. Whenever we do, work at it with all our heart, as working for the Lord, not solely for men, since we know that we will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. "WHEREAS, it is an honor and privileg for the Board of County Commissioners to recognize those extraordinary individuals, groups, or programs which enrich the lives of many in our community; and WHEREAS, Dr. Tony T. Lei, Ed. D., a famous resident of Clark County for more than nine years, has served the community through a variety of venues including: President of Washington Business and Technology Institute; Senior Advisor for Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, Office of Clark County District Attorney, and Constanble's Office of Las Vegas Township; Director and Secretary of South Shores Community Association; Honorary President of Great Wall College and Shiamen Straits Foreign Language College; Chairman of Chinese American Academic Association of Nevada; Contributing Editor and Columnist of "Nevada Examiner"; and WHEREAS, Dr. Tony Lei received his M.B.A. and Doctor of Education in Institutional Management degrees from Pepperdine University in 1969 and 1980, respectively. He had been an Associate Professor of Information Management and a Fellow of Management of the Graduate School of Business Administration of National Chung Hsing University and Pepperdine University from 1985 to 1991 and 1991 to 1996, respectively. Now, THEREFORE, WE, the Board of County Commissioners of Clark County, on this occasion, October 1, 2002, in celebration and recognition of his distingueshed professionalism and outstanding accomplishments, do hereby recognize and honor Dr. Tony T. Lei, Ed. D. and urge all citizens to join us wishing him a succesful and bright future." "The above Proclamation was signed by the Clark County Chairman Dario Herera, Vice-Chair Myrna Williams, Commissioners Yvonne Atkinson Gate, Marry Kincaid- Chauncey, Chip Maxfield, Erin Kenny, Bruce L Woodbury, and attested by County Clerk Shirley B. Parraguirre. As a humble and sincere American Coolie (hardworking man) like him, Dr. Tony Lei has given freely of his time, energy, knowledge, and talents, working on projects and events that contribute to the quality of life in Nevada and has dedicated himself to public service to not only the Asian Community but to all citizens. It's my great pleasure to name Dr. Tony Lei as a Son of Nevada," said the Chief Justice of Nevada Supreme Court William Maupin at the Celebration Party to "Nevada Examiner" and "Reviewjournal.com" at the Steak House of Binion's Horseshoe Club, Las Vegas on October 10, 2002. The Party was held by WBTI to celebrate William Maupin's being appointed as its Fellow of the Public Administration Institution (PAI) and as its Honorary Chairman of the Clark County District Attorney and Police Civil Commission (CCDAPCC). After the 911 last year, we need to encourage the launching of activities to promote and attract tourism, trade, and investment from foreign countries to Nevada by Dr. Tony Lei. He has been honored by Xiamen, Fukien, China; China Business Chain, Inc.; Shanghai People's Municipal Government Cooperation Office; and China State Development and Planning Commission as Chairman of Nevada Expo Mission to China to attend Sisters Universities Establishment Celebration; the Annual International Mayors for City Development Forum; and the Shanghai International Industrial Fair and Yangtze Investment Project Expo. Dr. Tony Lei will organize a sound team joined by many high-ranking officials both of Nevada and California. U. S. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, Lt. Governor Lorraine Hunt, and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman have been honored by WBTI as Honorary Chairpersons of our Nevada Expo Mission to China. As the "Bible" inspired us that, "When God gives any man wealth and possesions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work --- this is a gift of God." * --------------------------------------------------------------- On "Nevada Exeaminer" at November 22, 2002. *Ecclesiastes 5:19, "Bible" 77777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777 7777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777 77777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777 | | | | |

Lei President (702) 255-9058 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- August 28, 2001 Third Edition Senator Dina Titus* Appointed by WBTI as a Fellow of Public Administration By Cheryl Moss and Tiffany Chang "Our greastest asset at Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) is our people --- not facades or fountains, not landscapes or lakescapes, but people --- faculty, advisory board members, administration, and a host of friends," said President Dr. Tony Lei of WBTI. "On the publications of WBTI through multimedia locally, nationally, and internationally, we have featured many of our own: U. S. Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign, U. S. Representatives James Gibbons and Shelley Berkley, Governor of Nevada Kenny Guinn, Pepperdine University President Andrew Benton, Chief Federal Judge Lloyed Geroge, Dr. Charles Runnels, Former Chief Justice and now Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court William Maupin, Dr. William Thompson, Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, among others." "Enriching our research and community service process were made possible by these friends who joined and supported this academic institute. WBTI is really a chain of dedicated individuals, intellectuals, and professionals who join to research, serve, support and to give. We take great pride of our people, including our outstanding faculty members. They are some of the best in the world. We are sincere servers to help improve the quality of life of all the residents and visitors of Nevada." Nevada State Senator Dina Titus was appointed by Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) as a Fellow of its Public Administration Institution (PAI) on August 15, 2001. She was very pleased to receive the congratulations call from Dr. Tony Lei early that morning. Having out of town for a couple of days, the call reminded her that at the suggestion of U. S. Senator Harry Reid, former Las Vegas Mayor Jan Jones has offered to step down as Nevada's Democatic National Committeewoman, and Dina Titus will seek that job. This will give her some Washington, D. C., connections and enhance her political profile. With four trips a year to Washington, D. C., the committeewoman and committeeman from each state are expected to speak on party issues, raise money, and help recruit candidates. "It's really my honor to be a Fellow of Public Administration Institution," says Senator Dina Titus to the readers of "Nevada Examiner". "I'm also honor to be invited by Dr. Tony Lei as a Special Guest to the Event and Dinner Party for a Special Tribute to U. S. Senator Harry Reid on August 24, 2001," she continued. Dina Titus will bring her husband Dr. Wright to attend the Party at the Asia Palace Chinese Restaurant on the Friday evening. Dr. Wright is a Senior Professor in the Department of History at UNLV. The Event and Dinner Party was initiated by Dr. Tony Lei and Ms. Nancy Diaz. It will be chaired by Dr. Tony Lei, Dr. R. D. Prabhu, Dr. Ram Singh, Mr. Tonie Sison, and Ms. Rita Vaswani. Joined with more than 36 hosts of the Dinner Party by community and organizational leaders, business exevutives and owners, and officials, we are expecting to have guests and participants about 380 people. As a Professor of Political Science of UNLV , Dina Titus is now a famous Senator of the State Nevada. She is also a State Senator Democratic Leader. On August 14, 2001, she said that she would run for Lieutenant Govenor if Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman runs for Nevada Governor. "She's brilliant, and she would be a great governor," Mayor Goodman siad of Senator Titus. To her new honor and appointment as a Fellow of Public Administration Institution (PAI) of WBTI on August 15, 2001, Senator Titus agreed with District Judge Valorie Vega on "This position will undoubtedly provide me with avenues for exploring improvements in public services to which I'm most dedicated." It is really a valuable advancement that we may have such an appropriate and achieved individual like Dina as a colleague to our Institution. Senator Titus' expertise and good reputation in political science has been known locally and nationally. With her outstanding professional expertise and practical public administration experience, Senator Titus' acceptance as a fellow of PAI evidences that in supporting Director Dr. William Thompason with Fellows Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa, Professor Roy Adamson, and Justice of the Supreme Court Nancy Becker, they will form an excellent leadership team launching PAI into the next milleunnium for academic excellence and administrative practicality. "The maturity of citizens society is the fundamental guarantee for the normal processing of democratic politics. In a citizens society, it depends highly on the team of public intellectuals. A good public intellectual interates peoples' opinion, analyze rationally, and points out wise perspectives and notice. Dina plays an important and significant responsibility of mission as an achieved intellectual at the same time as an important statewoman. Our Nevada is critically in need of these intellectuals and professionals in every kind of fields," said Dr. Tony Lei, President of WBTI. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On "Nevada Examiner" in August 2001 *Dina Titus is now also an Adjunct Professor of Administrative Strategies of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of WBTI.
