Your giving touches lives in America and throughout the world!

Dear Partner in Vision,

I just wanted to write you a short note to thank you for your pledges to the 2020 Vision. Your giving enables us to touch America and the world.*2 As you know, we are believing for $330,000 to come in to fulfill our Missions commitments this year. So far, you have pledged over $300,000. Although we have not reached our goal, we are believing the Lord for the full amount and more!

This last week, we went to a city in Northern California and spread the fire of revival. The first night alone, over 200 people gave their lives to Jesus! WOW! The Lord swept through the church, and many were touched, and healed. One young girl was delivered of an eating this order. She said "I have never felt this kind of peace." Thank you. Your giving is making an impact.

If you have not had a chance to give, I want to encourage you to do so this Sunday.

Summer 2003 Symposium of WBTI was remarkable

The Summer 2003 Symposium of WBTI was held at the Zax Restaurant of Golden Nugget Casino and Hotel on May 19, 2003 in Las Vegas. The theme of the mini symposium was: The Entrepreneurship of MPA/SME Certificates Program for the people of English and Chinese Speaking. *1

Dr. E. Lee Bernick, Congresswoman Shelley Berkly, State Senator Dina Titus, Distrct Judge Valorie Vega, Clark County Commissioner Rory Reid, Las Vegas Judge Bert Brown, and Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Abbi Silver were invited as the Panelists of Honor of the Event and Dinner party. As Dean of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA), WBTI, Dr. Bernick is also Chairman and Professor of the Department of Public Administration, UNLV.

The following individuals were invited as Special Guests of the Party : Dr. An-pny Sun, Associate Professor of Social Work of UNLV; Jimmy Hsu, Director of the Las Vegas Office of "Chinese Daily News;" Jean Gatchalian, General Manager of "Nevada Examiner;" Liane Lee, Regional Representative of U. S. Senator Harry Reid; Kathie Ambrosio, Regional Representative of U. S. Senator John Ensign, and Representative of the Communitylink of Las Vegas Review-Journal. com.

The Symposium functioned also as a celebration Dinner Party for the appointment of Dr. Bernick as Dean and the six famous professionals as Faculty Members of GSBPA. Chaired by Dr. Tony Lei, President of WBTI, the Symposium accompanied elegantly with a Champagne Dinner was sponsored and host by him and his wife at the Zax (Italian and Japanese) Restaurant of Golden Nugget Casino and Hotel.*2

The MPA/SME Certificates Program are designed on the basis of theoreticality and practicality for public administration. This has marked again the milestone of practical and educational cooperation between UNLV and WBTI. "Learning through teaching is a good philosophy of a happy and successful life style. It's my spacious opportunity and honor to be an Adjunct Assistant Professor of GSBPA. In utilizing both of my knowledge and experience, I'm challenged and happy to share the learning and teaching process on Criminal Law together with our graduate students from China, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan in the classrooms offered by UNLV," said Judge Bert Brown who has been voted as the best municipal judge.*3

"As a District Judge of Nevada, it's my honor to announce the installation of the adjunct faculty members of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration of Washington Business and Technology Institute as in the following: Dean of the Public Administration Division: Dr. E. Through academic entrepreneurship, we may expect the endeavor of this School for the community service based on humane spirit, led by Chairperson Elaine Chao of WBTI," said Dr. Dina Titus, Professor of Administrative Strategies in GSBPA.

"To encourage the cooperation and development of English and Chinese speaking countries with Nevada has been particularly important to our country at this critical period of time. The establishment of GSBPA will launch our effort that emphasizes the value of humane and administrative orientation. The creed of this School is both on the spirit of educational excellence and academic entrepreneurship. We're forecasting the smoth and efficient growth of this School together with the growth of the tourism industry and the economy of Nevada after 911 and SARS," Dr. E. Lee Bernick, Dean of GSBPA and Professor and Chair of the Public Administration Department of UNLV *4 said at the Summer 2003 Symposium and Dinner Party held by WBTI at the Zax Restaurant of Golden Nugget Casino on May 19, 2003 in Las Vegas.

"Asian Pacific American have made profound contributions to American life, including the arts, economy, education, science, technology, politics, and sport. This community was here to help build trascontinental railroad, to serve in the Civil War, and to develop the latest Internet technology. I'm pleased to assure all you leaders of the community here today that I'll continue working to preserve and advance the heritage and value of Asian Americans. I'll put my effort to reach out and address issues of importance to the Asian American community, including the economy, education, safety, racial profiling, and hate crime, and immigration, among others. I'd like also to show my appreciation of all your accomplishments and contributions to the American way of life and your oustanding participation in the political, business , and educational processes.*5 It's my pleasure to accept the honor as Professor of Administrative Strategies of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration of Washington Business and Technology Institute," said Harry Reid, U. Learning how to run a succeessful business

As business owners, we always ask ourselves how do we do in our business? We usually judge our business based on the " numbers" such as how much revenue for the month; how much profit for the year; how much allowable expenses for each occasion. However, we forgot the basic element of successful business which is "people", not "numbers". Every business need people. Without client willing to buy the product and service, then it means no revenue; without employees willing to work for you, then it means there is a deficiency in the company. It is not surprising that nowadays, numerous companies have disregard this basic element.*2

People are the most important factor of running a successful business. Nevertheless, most business have failed due to the poor relationship in the work place. For example, management treating their employees badly and unfairly; employees providing poor customer services; lack of communication causing conflict among business owners. Simple question to business owners, when was the last time they pay attention on their employees to ensure their satisfaction in their "job"? I believe most of them would hesitate to answer the question.

I have colleagues asked me, "how can you make sure employees happy to work for you at the same time you are not loosing money?" I simply mentioned "numbers" does not equal to "people" Running business like "numbers" means you only focus on how you could make every dollar count for your "people" to work for you; whereas; "people" bisiness means treating everyone with dignity and respect which are always the main factor for higher productivity and satisfaction in the work place.

I practice this simple concept everyday. The result has proven to bring outmost satisfaction to customers, associates, and myself. I believe that by learning how to run a "people" business will bring a successful business at the end.*3

A thing of beauty is a joy forever

Dr. Tony Lei, President of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) had been invited to attend the celebration of Drescher Graduate Campus Dedication and Alumni Reunion of Pepperdine University on Novemver 1, 2003. The new facility houses the Beckman Management Center for the Graziadio School of Business and Management (GSBM) as well as the Braun Center for the School of Public Policy and the Graduate School of Education and Psychology. WBTI is expecting to have its Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) cooperate with GSBM in launching the MBA/PKE program.*1

John Keats said that a thing of beauty is a joy forever. "By following the Congressional Recognition that Congresswoman Shelley Berkley recognizes Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) for its outstanding accomplishment to its Pan Pacific and Asian American Forum (PPAAF), I'm also heartily impressed by its effort to the publicity for the realease of the message and statement of U. S. Senator Harry Reid and Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn on the WBTI website. The work performance of WBTI website is an accomplishment of the value of the truth, the goodness, and the beauty through the creed for a country of the people, by the people, and for the people," Speaker of the Assembly (House) of Nevada Richard Perkins pointed out at the Event and Dinner Party at Harbor Palace Restaurant by the Asian American Community on October 22, 2003 in Las Vegas.

The vision for 2004 of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) is: (1). To encourage and promote academic research, community service,
humane spirit, and educational programs (2). To launch and participate events
and projects for the development and cooperation of tourism, education, business, and culture. We did already good, moreover, we should go on doing better.*2

"It's my honor to be recommended as an Advisor of Pan Pacific and Asian American Forum. I'm glad to have opportunity to join the intellectuals and facaulty members of Washington Business and Technology Institute to endeavor the work performance in making Nevada a wonderful place for home living, business development, and internatonal tourism," said Bobby Siller, Member of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, at an Asian American Event on October 22, 2003. The event and dinner party was held at the Harbor Palace Restaurant by the Asian American Community in Las Vegas.

To make Nevada a wonderful place, the GSBPA will emphasize the education and technology on Management Information System (MIS). Management systems will become the foundations for coordinated group effort. Our policy makers and advisors will be interested in the treatment of decision-making situation. Specifically, the real-life situations in which there is little or no prior application experience. And in which there is partial applicable experience in both business and public administration. Our mangers will be emphasized on her or his competency in conceptualization of systems and strategies.

"As a Financial Administrator of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI), it's my precious opportunity to realize my potentiality of MBA expertise to work with all these outstanding faculty members of the Graduate School of WBTI under the encouragement and spritual leadership by our Deans Dr. Keong Leong and Dr. E. Computers are becoming more faster and very powerful. Persons who master the computers excert a significant influence over the organization in which they work. "With the excellence of knowledge, humanity, and partriotism inspired by Elaine Chao, Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) has continued its many years effort to community service and spiritual belief. Nevada is honor to have WBTI under her spiritual Chairpersonship and I'm especially honor to be a M. I. S. Manager of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration of WBTI," humble as he is, River Sun chatted excitedly during the celebration dinner party at the Gee Joon Chinese Restaurant of Binion's Horseshoe Club. The Moon Festival of Midautumn has been many thousand years celebrated as a day for pariotism by the Chinese people in the Far East and Southeastern Asia. The party was held by WBTI in Las Vegas on September 11, 2003.

The Event by the Asian American Group with many high-ranking officials, community leaders, and business executives was held successfully on October 22, 2003 in Las Vegas. Early the next morning, Dr. Tony Lei received an email from Judge Natalie Tyrrell, Justice of the Peace, North Las Vegas. Natalie wrote: It was truly an honor to be chosen as one of the guests of honor at the Asian American Group's Event on Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at the Harbor Palace Restaurant. I am always so impressed by the commitment and cooperation of the participants in all the Asian organizations represented at last night's dinner. It was so nice to have an opportunity to speak to the group and give everyone an update on recent happenings in North Las Vegas. It was great to see many good friends, including Dr. Tony and Judy Lei. I am looking forward to the next event!"

"The significance of the creed of a State deserves to encourage administrative professionals to emphasize the value of the truth, the goodness, and the beauty in order to maintain a country of the people , by the people, and for the people. I'm glad to have the challenge in cooperaton with the faculty members of the Public Administration Institution
of Washington Business and Technology Institute to endeavor the promotion of the quality of life for all our residents and visitors of Nevada," said Nancy Saitta, District Judge of Nedava, at the Harbor Palace Chinese Restaurant in Las Vegas, where an Asian American Event was held by the Asian American Community on October 22, 2003.*4

"In righteousness you will be established."* (*Isaiah 54:14, "Bible") "In this 21th Century new era and society, we need economic growth, but we also need to establish and promote creativity, fairness and Justice, serve and love, educational knowledge, and spirit engineering. We wish that a pure spring may prosper and enrich our splendid and golden country through: the power of public service that based on 'knowledge is the power of righteouness,'; the advancement of technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation; and the spirit that 'knowledge calls, ultimately, for a life of service'," said Dr. Tony Lei.*5
