"With the excellency of knowledge, humanity, and patriotism inspired by Elaine Chao, Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) has continued its many years effort to community service and spiritual belief. Nevada is honor to have WBTI under her spiritual Chairpersonship and I am especially honor to be a M.I.S. Manager of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration of WBTI," humble as he is, River Sun chatted excitedly during the celebration dinner party at the Gee Joon Chinese Restaurant of Horseshoe Club. The Moon Festival of Midautumn has been many thousand years celebrated as a day for patriotism by the Chinese people in the Far East and Southeastern Asia. The party was held by WBTI in Las Vegas on September 11, 2003.

Successful and innovatory practice of community service by WBTI --- A special tribute To U.S. Senator Honorable Harry Reid in becoming the Majority Whip of U.S. Senate

On Last Friday May 25, Nancy Diaz, Repesentative for U. S. Senator Harry Reid confimed with Dr. Tony Lei, President of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) that the Senator's office has agreed with WBTI to hold a grand celebrating party in August for Harry. The party will be hold under the unifying by WBTI with CAN-DO, ACC, among others. Special guests will include VIP from Nevadan high ranking officials, scholars and experts, business owners, and organizational leaders, with WBTI's faculty and members of Advisory Board as their basic resources. The decision has been made after Diaz's trip to the Senator's Office in Washington D. C. and the outstanding and successful practice of the event for the Justice of Supreme Court Nancy Becker by WBTI on May 23, 2001. The theme and function of the coming August event for our Senator is A Special Tribute to U. S. Senator Honorable Harry Reid in Becoming the Majority Whip of U.S. Senate. The Keynote Speaker is U. S. Senator Harry Reid. Guests of Honor in scheduling are U. S. Senator John Ensign, Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, Nevada Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa, and Las Vegas City Mayor Oscar Goodman.

The landslide success and victory of the Event held by WBTI for Justice Nancy Becker was a significant accomplishment of our Asian American community in Nevada. We had so many high ranking officials from the political and judicial area of Nevada together with the participating characters from the offices of our four representatitives of Nevada for the Washington Scene: Harry Reid, John Ensign, James Gibbons, and Shelley Berkley. The Guest of Honor was Grant Ashley, Special Agent in Charge, FBI. The Presentation Guest was Bud Granor, Southern Nevada Director for Governor Kenny Guinn. Special guests included most of the famous persons on the list of the previous second paragraphy ( where Lillian Wallace was not shown), plus Bert Brown, Michael Cherry, Michael Douglas, Nadia Juradi, Robert Lueck, Nancy Saitta, Jennifer Togliatti, among others.
Dr. Tony Lei, the main found raiser of this dinner party and Chairman of the Event spoke to thank Nancy Becker for agreeing with him to hold the event by WBTI three months ago. He thanked also Dr. Peter Lok's diligent and effective work performance for this party. Dr. Lok received an award from Nancy duirng the party. Finanlly, Dr. Tony Lei thanked heartily all the special guests, hosts, participating guests, and a host of friends in the party and event. After announcing the name list of the Faculty of Public Administration Institution (PAI) of WBTI, he introduced Nancy Becker and invited her to deliver a speech. Nancy performed a marvelous speech with good apperance and achieved content. Faculty memmbers of PAI with its Director and Fellow Dr. William Thompson were installed.
Cranor was introduced by Dr. Joey Villaflor to speak. Bud Cranor is Director of the Las Vegas Office of Governor Kenny Guinn, who praised the accomplishment of community service by Dr. Tony Lei and all our Asian Americans in Nevada. The highlight of this event is the presentation by Bud Cranor of the Speicial Award of Outstanding Community Involvement to Dr. Tony Lei given by Governor Kenny Guinn. Thunder of applause in the great hall of Harbor Palace Seafood Restaurant with more than one hundred fifty of attendants from government, business, academic, and professional expertises brought an enjoyable and pleasent reunion as long as three hours. Most of the people participatedwith their friends in the dinner and party were hesitated to say farewell.
Harry loves heartily our country, our people, and our community. He wishes us to enjoy working together. United we stand, devided we fall. Together we can GROW (Go Reach Our World). Knowledge calls, ultimately, for a life of service. We are happy to continue to work for the prosperity and healthy of our society more effectively through mutual coorperation and trust.
