The Proclamation of Clark County to Dr. Tony Lei on 2002 By the Office of Clark County ******************************************************************************WHEREAS, it is the policy and pleasure of the Board of County Commissioners to honor and recognize those extraordinary individuals, groups, or programs, which enrich the lives of many in our community; and WHEREAS, Dr. Tony T. Lei, Ed. D., a famous resident of Clark County for more than nine years, has served our community through a variety of venues including: President of Washington Business and Technology Institute; Senior Advisor for Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, Office of Clark County District Attorney, and Constanble's Office of Las Vegas Township; Director and Secretary of South Shores Community Association; Honorary President of Great Wall College and Xaimen Foreign Language College; Chairman of Chinese American Academic Association of Nevada; Contributing Editor and Columnist of Nevada Examiner ; among others Dr. Lei received his M.B.A. and Doctor of Education in Institutional Management degrees from Pepperdine University in 1969 and 1980, respectively. He had been been an Associate Professor and a Fellow of Management of the Graduate School of Business Administration of National Chung Hsing University and Pepperdine University from 1985 to 1991 and 1991 to 1996, respectively. WHEREAS, Dr. Lei has given freely of his time, energy, knowledge, wisdom, and professionalism, working on projects and events that greatly and effectively contribute to the promotion of quality of life in Clark County and has dedicated himself to public service to not only Asian community but to all our Nevadan citizens; and Now, THEREFORE, WE, the Board of County commissioners, on this occasion, October 1, 2002, in celebration and recognition of his distingueshed professionalism and outstanding accomplishments, do hereby recognize and honor Dr. Tony T. Proposal for the Certificate of Executive Host By GSBPA, WBTI "Lots of manageiral personals I had in relations in Southern Asian countries could bring many valuable customers from those countries both in travelling and gaming to Las Vegas. Through a certificate of Executive Host Program we may train them and bring posperious business to this Silver State. To start with the program, I may recruiting a lot of participants," suggested Jimmy Hsu at the Summer 2003 Symposium of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI). The mini symposium was held by WBTI at the Zax Restaurant of Golden Nugget Casino and Hotel on May 19, 2003 in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a entertainment capital as the best place to learn about casino and hotel management through its hospitality industry. With about 100,000 hotel rooms, hundreds of restaurants, resorts, conventions, and trade shows, Las Vegas is a living laboratory for the study of hotel administration. This program of our School is cooperated with UNLV to offer the Certificate Of Exective Host (COEH) for qualified professionals through training and education of hospitality. Dr. Keong Leong, Chairman of Department of Business, UNLV; and Dr. E. Lee Bernick, Chairman of Public Administration, UNLV are Deans of the School. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley has put her ground of leadership on the efficiency and balance of good work performance and human relations through her knowledge, wisdom, and love. She has been Executive Advisor for Washington Business and Technology Institute(WBTI) since 1996. At the time when Shelley was elected as the Member of International Relations committee (IRC) of the U. S. Congress, she told Las Vegas Review-Journal that to promote the tourism, trade, and investment with foriegn countries for Nevada and our States is her primary interest. Dr. Tony Lei, President of WBTI, has been honored by China Business Chain, Inc. (CBCI), Shangshai People's Municipal Goverment Cooperation Office (SPMGCO), and China State Development and Planning Commission as Chairman of Nevada Expo Mission to China to attend the Annual International Mayors for City Development Forum, Shangshai International Industrial Fair, and Yangtze Investment Project Expo 2003.
