Summerlin --- one of the most famous and modern community in Nevada, U. S. A. By PAI of WBTI*1***"Few things help an individual more than to place responsibility upon him and to let him know that you trust him." --- Booker T. Washington *** "The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more." --- Jonas Salk, MD Summerlin is a great place to live!*2 During the past tweleve years, Summerlin has been the fastest growing Master Planned Community in the country. Located along the western rim of the Las Vegas valley, this community offers a unique lifestyle to its residents. Surrounded by the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Summerlin consists of several villages of residential properties, schools cultural centers, shopping, parks, trails, professional and medical facilities and golf courses. More than one-third of Summerlin's acreage is designated as open space, which includes parks, trails, golf courses and nature trails. Ours in Summerlin is something good for many people! "The enormous Summerlin community is the most celebrated development in the northwest region of Las Vegas. In 1999, Summerlin let the country in new home sales among mater-planned communities with 2,281 homes sold, a 17 percent increase over the previous year. Within this community, there are 170 models to choose from, priced between $100,000 and $1 million. Other communities in the region include Queensridge, a 1,100-acre, master-planned community with a residential complement of 850 acres; the Lakes, which offers residents lakeside homes with boating and fishing; and Los Prados, an active adult community. The near northwest is home to one of Las Vegas' oldest neighborhoods; know locally as the Scotch 80s," described in the post.*3 "Bordered by Rancho Road, I-15, Oakey Boulevard, and Charleston Ave, this community of large, ranch-style residences was once home to BB King, Shecky Greene, and Diana Ross. The Valley¡¦s largest assemblage of golf courses in the northwest, including the Badlands, Painted Desert, Los Prados, and Angel Park. Shopping at Meadows Mall and the Sahara Pavilion oasis nearby, and several neighborhood casinos, such as Santa Fe Station, Fiesta, and the Texas Station, offer fine dining and gaming, making it more convenient for residents who would prefer not to drive to the Strip. Apartments are plentiful, especially in the area of Sahara Road near Arville Street."*4 South Shores is one of the most important community in Summerlin. Dr. Tony Lei has been elected to the Board of the South Shores Community Association since 1993. The follwoing is a sample of his literature for the election in 2003:*5 "I wish to serve as a delegate because": I (Dr. Tony Lei) will offer my endeavor, knowledge, and ability to carry out the duties for the rights and benefits of the homeowners and residents here in our community. I'll work to motivate both the good production and human relations on the work performance of our Association and the Management Company which we, the homeowners, are paying service fees to support.*6 "Qualifications I feel will benefit the community": Delegates who are good in managemt knowledge and experience will do better with the Home Association Company to promote the work performance for the rights and benefits of our homeowners. Many years as an Associate Professor and Fellow of Management of the Graduate School of Business Administration of National Chung Hsing University and Pepperdine University, I may use my knowledge to serve our community. Many institutions such as Nevadan U. S. Representative of the Congress, District Attorney Office of Clark County, Constable's Office of Las Vegas Township, among others invited me as the Senior Advisor, I may use my experience to work for our homeowners and residents. I received my M.B.A. and Ed.D. in Institutional Management from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California, but my knowledge and experience will be also important for me to service our community together with my sincere and humble personal traits. "Other information I wish to share": "Dr. Tony Lei has worked for our community in Southern Nevada more than ten years based on his belief that 'By the act of love itself, we are enriched. Love in action is service above self. Make service a part of our character and experience the abundant reward that comes from serving others. Let our heroes be the great servants who have given all for the betterment of others' lives. Let our candle fuel a fire that will fan out an ever-increasing circles. With these circles together we can close our eyes and evision a community that is safe, peaceful, and healthy.' We need such a people like him to work for our community," said a District Judge of our Family Court. I love the atmosphere here, I love the environment here, and especially I love the people here in our community. We should expect both of our Association and Management Company put effort to help our community be of our homeowners, by our homeowners , and for our homeowners. It's a good thing by working for you at the same time working for our families also because both of us are homeowners.*7 Without any opponent, Dr. Tony Lei won the election! *8 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References *1. Governor Kenny Guinn of Nevada will not request special SESSION By Office of the Governor*1FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 30, 2004 Contact Greg Bortolin or John Trent 775-684-5670 Gov. Guinn will not request special SESSION CARSON CITY ¡V Gov. Kenny Guinn announced today he will not call a special session of the Nevada Legislature to address the property tax issue because it can be dealt with at the start of the 2005 Legislative Session.*2 ¡§My top concern is to ensure that property owners are not gouged,¡¨ Gov. Guinn said. ¡§Local officials, Senate Majority Leader Bill Raggio and Assembly Speaker Richard Perkins assured me that we can properly deal with this issue during the regular session with no penalty to property owners. This is a complicated issue that legislators have assured me they will study and address as soon as the session begins in February.¡¨ Gov. Guinn believes property tax relief must be in place by the time county assessors compile tax rolls in March. This would give county assessors enough time to make adjustments for property tax bills that are issued in July 2005. ¡§I agree with property owners that local governments should not receive a windfall of tax dollars at property owners¡¦ expense,¡¨ Gov. Guinn said. ¡§There is plenty of time to address this issue before the next property tax bills go out in July 2005.¡¨ The Governor¡¦s announcement today is in response to a request made by Assemblyman David Brown and Senator Ann O¡¦Connell on July 26. ¡§This action will save taxpayers money by not calling a special session,¡¨ Gov. Guinn said. ¡§I also strongly believe that we need to prevent massive windfalls to government at the expense of property owners.*3 Office of the Governor Grant Sawyer State Office Building 101 North Carson Street 555 East Washington, Suite 5100 Carson City, NV 89701 Las Vegas, NV 89101 Fax: 775-684-7198 Fax: 702-486-2505 ---------------------------------------------------- References *1. Becky Ung is now offering her speeches on E. Q. in China By Tiffany Chang***** "A book is a success when people who haven't read it pretend they have." --- Los Angeles Times Syndicate ***** "I recognize what John Keats said about 'A thing of beauty is a joy forever,'" pointed out District Judge of Nevada Valorie Vega at the time when she was a hit winner of the visitor number 70,000th (now at 72,018th) of the WBTI webside. [Re-edited on July 31, 2004.] Early this morning on July 30, 2004, the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) received the news that Becky Ung is now in Beijing, China. She will be back to California on next Tuesday evening. It is our pleasure to post the following article: My coming trip to China, Japan, and Taiwan By Becky Ung Dear Dr. Lei, It was nice talking to you yesterday. Currently I am teaching three EQ classes; two in Rowland Height area and one in Palos Verdes on top of many students I see in private sessions. And I continue to be invited to go to different schools, churches, radio stations and T.V. stations to speak on the subject of emotional intelligence. After stepping down from School Board Governing position, I was appointed to be the Community Liaison on behalf of the San Marino School District.*1 This way I continue to be involved. I am able to offer my experiences and expertise to help parents and students. I am now serving as a director on the board of Bienvenido Children's Village. It is a temperary shelter for severely abused and neglected children. I believe in their mission: "To assist children and families toward healthy relationships and life competency." And their vision is "A world of tomorrows where children flourish and families thrive." In March of this year I will travel to Taipei to promote my second book. Then I am being invited to offer workshops in China. There are some potential speaking engagement in different universities in Japan, Taiwan and China. Wishing you and your family a new year of Monkey filled with love, peace, good health, prosperity and a bit of adventures. Becky ------------------------------ ***** "13 Reasons for Living" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez*2 1. I love you not for who you are, but who I am when I'm by your side. 2. No person deserves your tears, and who deserves them won't make you cry. 3. Just because someone doesn't love you as you wish, it doesn't mean you are not loved with all his/her being. 4. A true friend is the one who holds your hand and touches your heart. 5. The worst way to miss someone is to be seated by his/her side and know you will never have him/her. 6. Never stop smiling, not even when you¡¦re sad, someone might fall in love with your smile. 7. You may only be a person in this world, but for someone, you are the world. 8. Don't spend time with someone who doesn't care spending it with you. 9. Maybe God wants you to meet many wrong people before you meet the right one, so when this happens, your will be thankful. 10. Don't cry because it came to an end. Smile because it happened. 11. There will always be people who'll hurt you, so you need to continue trusting, just be careful. 12. Become a better person and be sure to know who you are before meeting someone new and hoping that person knows who you are. 13. Don't struggle so much, best things happen when not expected. ----------------------------------- References *1.
