GOV. GUINN DECLARES FLOOD EMERGENCY IN CLARK COUNTY
GOVERNOR WILL VISIT FLOOD DAMAGED AREAS OF OVERTON AND NEARBY COMMUNITIES

CARSON CITY - Gov. Kenny Guinn*2 announced today that the State of Nevada is officially declaring an emergency for flood-affected areas of Clark and Lincoln Counties. Extreme winter storms beginning December 30, 2004 have resulted in significant flood related emergencies.

Gov. Guinn will be arriving at Perkins Field in Overton at approximately 3:30 p.m. today.

“I am anxious to observe the damage and work to make sure the State of Nevada does everything possible to make sure that the people affected by this flood get as much assistance as possible,” Gov. Guinn said.

Gov. Guinn has directed the Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Management to deploy Preliminary Damage Assessment Teams to all affected areas within the state beginning Tuesday. Since the flooding began, the Governor has directed state agencies to support local agencies in the effort to save lives, protect property and protect the health and safety of those affected by the flood.

Linda Shyr esq. earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California at Irvine and her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Law.*2

Ms. Shyr is an active member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce as well as the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce. She is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, San Gabriel Valley Bar Association, Taiwanese American Lawyers Association, and was a Board Member and current member of the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association.

Ms. Shyr has practiced immigration law exclusively since 1998. She understands what the USCIS is looking for because she has ample experience in this field. Ms. Shyr has had great success with many types of immigration benefits and visas.

Ms. Shyr prides herself on being an ethical attorney who informs clients of the truth and zealously represents her clients with a smile. She has worked at several law firms in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and Monterey Park prior to establishing her own office in Alhambra, California, and has seen too many offices that are dishonest to clients. Miss Kathie Ambrosio, Regional Representative of U. S. Senator John Ensign, showed a vey much interest in participating the Council at the dinner party with Dr. and Mrs. Tony Lei in the Steak House of Palace Station Casino and Hotel on December 12, 2004.

Ms. Nancy Diaz and Miss Liane Lee, Regional Representatives of U. S. Senator Harry Reid, were on the same table with Dr. and Mrs. Tony Lei in the Event and Dinner Party at the Habor Palace Seafood Restaurant on December 15, 2004. Nancy Diaz told Dr. Tony Lei that she would arranged the dates for Senator Harry Reid to attend the convention and celebretion held by the European and Asian countries with WBTI in the coming year.

With the above characteristics, Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) had a very successful experience to initial, plan, and implement a project for our U. S. Senator Harry Reid. It was the Event and Dinner Party for A Special Tribute to U. S. Senator Honorable Harry Reid on Friday, the Twentifourth of August, 2001 at Asia Palace Chinese Restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The recent interest in having a project initialted through WBTI has been concerned by several community leaders: (1) Mr. William Yuen and Ms. Teresa Woo invited Dr. and Mrs. Tony Lei to a lunch to discuss their participation in Intercity Business Council of Nevada. The party was held at the Chinese Cuisine Cathy House on December 30, 2004 in Las Vegas. (2) Mr. Raymond Lam invited Dr. and Mrs. Tony Lei to dinner at BBQ King Restaurant in Las Vegas. Mr. Roget Y. Rong was an accompany guest. The party was held on December 28, 2004 to discuss a world intercity convention on May 2005.

gov. guinn appoints ferraro to judicial discipline commission

CARSON CITY - Gov. Kenny Guinn*2 today announced the appointment of Greg Ferraro, to the Commission on Judicial Discipline.

“I am pleased Greg has agreed to lend his considerable talents to this important commission,” Gov. Guinn said. “Greg is a fine person who will utilize his experience in government relations to serve the citizens of this state.”

Ferraro, 41, is the President of the Ferraro Group in Reno, a government, media and public affairs company. Prior to forming the Ferraro Group, he spent 12 years at R&R Partners, where he served as President of the Government and Public Affairs division. He managed clients such as the Nevada Resort Association, America West Airlines, Sprint, Nevada Power and Sierra Pacific Power companies, and Employers Insurance Group.

Ferraro also serves as a director for First Independent Bank of Nevada, The Nature Conservancy, The University of Nevada Foundation, and the Great Basin National Park Foundation.

“I look forward to serving on the Commission on Judicial Discipline and I deeply appreciate Governor Guinn’s confidence in my ability to contribute to the commission’s work,” Ferraro said.

Ferraro and his wife Carolyn have three children, Tommy, Tisha and Joe.
