Our Ultimate Hooray, Part Two
by Charles R. Swindoll

Read 1 Corinthians 15:19--22

Just imagine . . . those who are physically disabled today will one day dance in beautiful coordination and leap in ecstatic joy. Those who spend their lives absorbed in total darkness will see every color in the spectrum of light. In fact, the first face they will see will be of the One who gives them sight. And those precious souls whose minds and emotions are limited by mental disability, disease, or old age will enjoy to the full unhindered and uninhibited relationships. It's enough to put a smile on any weary face. There's nothing like the hope of resurrection to lift the agonizing spirits of the heavyhearted.

Unless, of course, it's all a cruel hoax.

That's Paul's whole point in 1 Corinthians 15:19. Remember how he put it? If bodily resurrection is only an empty dream, then "we are of all men most to be pitied." All our preaching has a hollow ring to it, our faith is worthless, the dead have perished, and we are still under the condemnation of our sins (15:14, 16, 18). What a deplorable state of affairs! It's enough to make all of us run and hide!

But wait. That hypothetical argument hinges on a conditional presupposition . . . if. "If there is no resurrection of the dead" (15:13), then we're out to lunch. But there is a resurrection with all its promised hopes. It is as sure as we're alive at this moment.

How can we be so certain that we will be resurrected? What is the source of our assurance? What gives us unshakable confidence in the face of death? The fact of Christ's resurrection.

Because He has been raised, we too shall rise. As Paul stated in that same section of Scripture, "Christ [is] the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming" (15:23). That's us! Jesus Himself promised, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies" (John 11:25).

No wonder we get so excited every Easter! No wonder we hold nothing back as we celebrate His miraculous resurrection from the grave! It's a double-barreled celebration: His triumphant hurrah over agony and our ultimate and eternal hooray.

Who I'm Inspired ByFriday, April 22, 2011 1:15 PMFrom: "Maggie L. Fox, Repower America" [info@repoweramerica.org]Add sender to ContactsTo: "Tony Dr. Lei"

Dear Tony,

The most rewarding part of my job is meeting and learning about individuals across the globe who are leading the fight against climate change. While action in Congress stalls due to partisan politics, these people make fighting climate change a priority every day.

Miranda Ko is a 19-year-old student at UC San Diego. She started a group on campus called Smart Living whose mission is to prepare undergraduates for a career in renewable energy.

Miranda's commitment to addressing the climate crisis is more than just a hobby. Her passion inspires others to get involved and work together to curb global warming pollution.

This Earth Day, stand with leaders like Miranda. Publicly commit to making the fight against climate change a priority every day. Start today. Share your commitment with us in the comment section of this blog post.

Asif Iqbal is committed to educating his neighbors about the threat of climate change in the remote region of Pakistan where he grew up. From a classroom to a mountaintop, Asif helps educate his community about increased temperatures, dried-out water sources and changes in rain patterns.

Asif helps me realize that each one of us has our own unique place in this movement. Today, stake out your part. Make a commitment on our blog to make addressing climate change a daily priority.

Be sure to make your commitment specific, so that others who read it will be inspired to join.

ANZAC Day

Press Statement
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of StateWashington, DC

April 22, 2011

On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am pleased to send best wishes to the people of Australia and New Zealand on ANZAC day this April 25.

During my trip last year to Australia and New Zealand I saw firsthand the courage of your two nations as you continue to meet adversity with determination and resilience. As we salute the ANZAC spirit and celebrate its foundation, we are reminded of the strength of your countries and we honor those who fight for peace, progress and prosperity around the world. This day of remembrance is a tribute to your character and the depth of your partnership. Our thoughts are with all Anzacs who are serving, those who have served, those who have given their lives and their families.

The United States is your partner and we will continue to stand with you in support of freedom and democracy around the world. As the Ode of Remembrance says, “At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.”

Our Ultimate Hooray, Part One
by Charles R. Swindoll

Read Revelation 21:4; 22:3, 5

What gives a widow courage as she stands beside a fresh grave?

What is the ultimate hope of the disabled, the amputee, the abused, the burn victim?

How can the parents of children who have brain damage or physical handicaps keep from living their entire lives totally and completely depressed?

Why would anyone who is blind or deaf or paralyzed be encouraged when he or she thinks of the life beyond?

How can we see past the martyrdom of some helpless hostage or devoted missionary?

Where do the thoughts of a young couple go when they finally recover from the grief of losing their baby?

When a family receives the tragic news that a little daughter was found dead or their dad was killed in a plane crash or a son overdosed on drugs, what single truth becomes their whole focus?

What is the final answer to pain, mourning, senility, insanity, terminal diseases, sudden calamities, and fatal accidents?

The answer to each of these questions is the same: the hope of bodily resurrection.

We draw strength from this single truth almost every day of our lives---more than we realize. It becomes the mental glue that holds our otherwise shattered thoughts together. Impossible though it may be for us to understand the details of how God is going to pull it off, we hang our hopes on fragile, threadlike thoughts that say, "Someday, He will make it right" and "Thank God, all this will change" and "When we're with Him, we shall be like Him."

More than a few times a year I look into red, swollen eyes and remind the despairing and the grieving that "there's a land that is fairer than day"1 when, as John promised in the Revelation,

"He will wipe away every tear . . . there will no longer be any death . . . any mourning, or crying, or pain." . . . There will no longer be any curse . . . any night . . . because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever. (21:4; 22:3, 5)

Hooray for such wondrous hope!

Remarks With African Union Commission Chairperson Jean Ping Before Their Meeting

Remarks
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of StateTreaty Room
Washington, DC

April 21, 2011

SECRETARY CLINTON: Well, good afternoon. It’s a real pleasure for me to welcome Chairperson Ping of the African Union here to the State Department. Chairperson Ping and his delegation have been engaged in a consultation with members of our team here in Washington across our government. And we’re especially pleased about that because Africa is a matter of great significance to the Obama Administration, and we have every intention to broaden and deepen our relationship not only bilaterally with countries but also with the African Union.

I want to thank the chairperson for his personal commitment and leadership on behalf of the imperative of democratic transformation and establishment within the countries of Africa, his commitment to accountability and transparency and good governance. We wish to work with the AU in order to provide support for the programs that he has championed.

In addition, we seek the African Union’s assistance in arriving at a political solution in Libya. UN Security Council Resolution 1973 expressed the international community’s concerns about the actions of the Libyan Government under Colonel Qadhafi. Three African nations that are members of the Security Council voted for the resolution. And I appreciate what the African Union has said, urging that there be a democratic process that can be inclusive and supportive of the needs of the Libyan people, and I look forward to meeting with you now and discussing steps that we can take together.

So again, we welcome you to Washington and the State Department.

MR. PING: Thank you, Madam Secretary of State. I would like just to say that I am delighted to be here today. I’ve been received by you. It’s a pleasure for me – an honor not only on my own own capacity, but on the capacity of the African Union Commission and the whole continent.

As you have said, we are now confronted with so many problems in the continent and we need to exchange views with the rest of our partners. And in this specific context, it is good to be here today with you and to exchange views on the situation in Libya as well.

In the same time, as you know, we have started to strengthen our cooperation, multilateral cooperation with U.S.A. And this is our second meeting of that type, and we can see the difference. We started last year, the difference there in term of quality of our exchange, also the quantity of the partners with whom we have interacted.

Thank you very much for your kind invitation, and thank you for receiving us.

SECRETARY CLINTON: Thank you, sir. Again, welcome. Thank you all very much.

Dear Friends,

There will be Good Friday service tomorrow's night at church. It will start at 7:30pm. Let's gather before God to remember His great love to us. Don't forget attending prayer walk on Sunday. We'll meet at church lobby after 3rd service 12:15 then head toward "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ( address--925 Cera Dr, San Jose, CA‎ 95129)"
Direction from church:

Paul once pray for the saints in Ephesian -- "the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms"
May we all see & experience His mighty power, hope and glory

God Bless,

Tong Liu and Gerry Liu: cross-cultural and community service are our distinctions
By Michael Douglas, Cheryl Moss, Valerie Weber, and Tiffany Chang*1

[[[ Michael Douglas is now Chief Justice of Nevada Supreme Court wbti ]]]
***** "Those who trust us, educate us." --- George Eliot
***** No man can be rich without himself enriching others. ---Andrew Carnegie
***** The ultimate responsibility of a leader is to facilitate other people's development as well as his own. ---Fred Pryor

The following is the interview by Tiffany Chang to Tong Liu, Senior Pastor of River of Life Christian Church (ROLCC) and Gerry Liu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ROLCC, from Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI):

Q: By comparing to other Chinese Churches, what you think are the uniqueness of River of Life Christian Church?
Tong: One of the significant unique characters is our emphasis on cross-cultural. We have Chinese services and English service. We serve people from all nations. An innovation of ours is the endeavor to strengthen the united efforts of all the local churches. We're interested to do the righteous work jointly with many other churches locally. Why we have such a mission? It is because we sincerely love our God and people.

Gerry: In the first place, we have the nice plan from our God. We expect to put our efforts to make River of Life Christian Church a mega church. How? I think the most important thing is to have our Church fueled with both human and financial resources. In the second place, we endeavored to build our services as a bridge of the mutual cooperation and development between English and Chinese cultures. In the third place, we're launching our mission of integrity with the mainstream through local governments.

Q. What are your current plans for River of Life Christian Church?
Tong: Our main mission for our current plans will be the endeavor of community service. The significance of community service to our people, land, and country has been recognized by many leaders in each and every field of professionalism all around the United States . It's our pleasure to put community service as a priority in our current mission. To function it effectively, we have our cell groups as the frontiers. The whole thing is initiated by our love for God.

Gerry: The 2006 theme of this Church is "Arise & shine - Prepare the way of the Lord". Our next year's theme will be "Lighting of the Country". In the coming ten years, we'll endeavor to build love all around our neighborhoods. We have 105 cell groups and 14 zones. The grass roots of our people are numerous and sincere. Through the cooperation with the local governments, we're expecting to extend our love to the whole country.

Q. Can you tell us a little about the development of your educational leadership program?
Tong: We have a two-year educational curriculum for people who are interested in having advanced study in ministries. A program with extensive subjects has been designed for our on the job training. It's on a monthly training basis. The evening classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday.

Gerry: Our elegant plan, which will be launched for next year, is the Pastoral Leadership Program School. We'll plan it as a comprehensive study on pastoral
leadership for our future leaders in ministries.

Q. In order to develop the Church's international perspectives, what are your plans and endeavor?
Tong: On the first place, we have done many of our short term missions very successfully. We'll continue our effort to do them better. It's quite fruitful in each and every of our missionary trips. We have gone to many different places and have seen their needs. We have shared with their burdens through our brotherly love. In the second place, we'll continue our planning and implementation of our diversified ministry conferences. We'll share God's love and experience the growth of our faith through our future comprehensive conferences. In the third place, we plan to emphasize the development of the ministry faith pledge.

Gerry: My findings on the building of an international perspective for our Church are: (1) In this 21 century, an international perspective for an organization is vital to its existence and development. (2) We need to put more effort in recruiting rich human and financial resources.

Q. What's your expectation on the functions of the search engine leaders to the River of Life Christian Church?
Tong: It's our pleasure that the search engine leaders have contributed a great deal to our websites. Google did very well. We hope they can put our "Devotion Hotline" on the internet for the mass public. A cooperation and development between ROLCC and WBTI through the functions of search engine leaders such as Google.cn, Yahoo.cn, AOl.com will bring with a bright future for many individuals locally, nationally, and internationally.*2

Gerry: (1) We have good websites. In order to be more successful for our websites, we need also to be favored by the search engine leaders. (2) To win their publications of our information every week is a good accomplishment. I'm glad WBTI and ROLCC deserve the honor.*3

"We need many kinds of people in God's kindom. Some are to seize the enemy's camps; some are to hold the fields; some are to provide for the needs; and some are to produce behind the scene. Nevertheless, we are standing together to work for God's kingdom. Therefore, I want to thank everyone who faithfully support the mission work last year. Because of your support, we are able to support 34 mission organizations/missionaries and establish 43 daughter churches in the world. There are 700 people gathering together in difference locations worshiping the Lord every week. We are thankful and give God all the glory," pointed out Rev. Tong Liu at ROLCC on November 5, 2006. "This year is the 200 Anniversary when missionary Morrison entered China. We will pray for the mssion work in China. God uses many western missionaries in the past to bring gospels to China. Now is the time for Chinese churches to rise up to win nations for the Lord."

Modern skills of positive thinking in management
GSEP of Pepperdine wbti: The art of leading ...
By Tiffany Chang

The author of "Peace of mind in Daily Life", "Will Power and Self Discipline", "Visualize and Achieve" and "Affirmations - Words of Power", Remez Sasson teaches and writes on positive thinking, self-improvement, spiritual growth, peace of mind, and among others. The following is a collection of some of his quotes on positive thinking.

<<< A positive attitude brings strength, energy and initiative.

Positive thoughts are not enough. There have to be positive feelings and positive actions.

When you say "I can", and expect success, you fill yourself with confidence and happiness.

You can close the windows and darken your room, and you can open the windows and let light in. It is a matter of choice. Your mind is your room. Do you darken it or do you fill it with light? >>> *1

As some notes for one of our research studies, most of the above and following quotes on "Positive Thinking" that selected by me are posted here to share with our members and friends. Would you like to add some more?

{{{ Positive thinking evokes more energy, more initiative and more happiness.

Train your mind to think in terms of 'possible' and 'can be done'.

When you have control over your thoughts, you have control over your life.

Happy thoughts attract happy people into your life.

Happy thoughts fill your life with happiness.

When you change your habitual thoughts, it is like changing the direction of a train.

Affirm the positive, visualize the positive and expect the positive, and your life will change accordingly.

When there are difficulties and you feel down, this is the time to visualize, think and expect the positive.

Do not let circumstances influence your thoughts and moods. By rising over them mentally, you will eventually rise over them materially.

Fill your mind with light, happiness, hope, feelings of security and strength, and soon your life will reflect these qualities.

Reading inspiring quotes uplifts the mind.

Repeating inspiring quotes during the day, helps to cope better with with every situation that arises.

The power of positive thinking is like a car with a powerful engine that can take you to the summit of a mountain. }}} *2

In related to these "Knowledge, E. Q., and Wisdom", we have had more than 1,687 responses from Nevada, California, Texas, New York, Beijing, Taipei, Bangkok, Hongkong, London, Shanghai, Xiangzu, and among others since January 1, 2007.

"After an investigative research on a person's character, scholars found that personal traits play a very important role in helping business executives and leaders to be successful. They found out that persons who are leaders should have wisdom and talent. These people have a broader interest and aptitude. They are good in self expression and public communication. Possibly, the most vivid fact to be felt by everyone is that, these persons all have a strong inner desire to pursue business accomplishment and have their good performance recognized," said Dr. Tony T. Lei, President of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI).

"Among various business organizations, a research was conducted on the work performance of the American college graduates. It revealed that the following personal traits are important for the success of their business: (1) Ability to get along with people. (2) Ability to get things done. (3) Intelligence. (4) Desire for advancement. (5) Human relations skills. (6) Leading and administrative abilities. (7) Communication skills. (8) Ability to take important task. (9) Judgment. (10) Responsibility. (11) Decisions. (12) Adaptability. (13) Dependability. (14) Loyalty. (15) Vision. (16) Imagination." *3

As a supervisor or manager in business, there are certain techniques that you can use to improve your effectiveness to have telephone conversational skills: "(1) Answer your phone promptly. (2) Identify yourself and your company immediately. (3) Be friendly. (4) Have all your necessary resources available. (5) Indicate your regret or appreciation when applicable. (6) Use caller's name if it's offered. (7) Express your willingness to help. (8) Don't interrupt your customer. (9) Get as much information as you can. (10) Be understandable in your communication. (11) Be accurate and complete when giving information. (12) Be easy to deal with."*4

We would also like to list 12 effective and 13 ineffective telephone techniques in business. A. 12 effective talent : (1) Smile. (2) Speak clearly and concisely. (3) Be enthusiatic. (4) Lower your voice pitch (5) Talk positive. (6) Be prepared for objections. (7) Talk directly into the mouthpiece. (8) Consider your customer's personality. (9) Speak in terms of benefits. (10) Discuss rather than tell. (11) Always thank the listener for his time. (12) Follow up if necessary." *5

B. 13 ineffective telephone skills are: (1) Frowning. (2) Muttering. (3) Sounding tired.(4) Speaking in monotone. (5) Being negative. (6) Being over confident. (7) Holding the telephone under your chin. (8) Rambling. (9) Making accusatory remarks. (10) Arguing. (11) Hanging up abruptly. (12) Forgetting to thank the listener. (13) Try to talk and do something else at the same time." *6

To be successful in business, we need to have positive thinking traits. There are 12 personal traits that characterize a positive thinker: Optimism, Enthusiam, Belief, Intelligence, Courage, Integrity, confidence, Judgement, Persistence, Liveliness, Vision, and Desire to excel.*7

Develop a clear vision of our prefered future, then get focused on key activities and efforts that take us in that direction. We shall see performance gains, achieve our goals, and have a happier and more successful practice. By persuing our own personal strategic plans with love and service, we will increase our energies, motivations, satisfactions, happiness, and the worthy value of our lives in business.

The Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) has put effort in spreading the golden words of wisdom for positive thinking in the business and public administration world.*8

"People worry about the huge amount of creativity that is wasted---lost forever---because talented people are prevented from giving their best by their lack of ability to influence others effectively," wrote Dr. Ken Blanchard in the 'Foreword' of the book entitled "Winning Ways," written by Dick Lyles.*9 "The business world has changed; organizations are getting flatter and more networked. Today, the key to success is one's ability to exercise peer leadership. The most successful individuals shine because of their ability to influence, empower, and energize others. In essence, they embody the principles and practices of Winning Ways."

"Rapid changes in technology and global competition have combined to reshape the corporate landscape. Corporate management has responnded to these changes by iniatating sweeping changes. The introduction of new technology may be touted as a productivity booster and turn out instead to be a total bust. Whatever the problem may be, you're the one who has to deal with it on a daily basis. Even when new ideas are well thought out, there are still problems in putting them into practice within your group," George Fuller wrote in the 'Introduction' of his book, "Win/win management: leading people in the new workplace." *10

There are lots of common headaches most of supervisors and leaders have to confront. "It's easy to understand how the broad scope these problems can easily lead to a less than steller attitude toward your job. However, adoping a sense of futility only serve to make matters worse. On the other hand, maintain a positive attitude helps you place things in perspective and can make coping eith problems a lot easier to do." *11

To initiate our programs more effectively for the people and communities who are interested to participate the programs, we need to emphasize the spirit of positive attitude and positive thinking. The following are words of wisdom which are worth reading collected by the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI):

***"Watch your thought, for they become words. Choose your words, for they become actions. Understand your actions, for they become habits. Study your habits, for they will become your character. Develop your character, for it becomes your destiny." *12
