For its innovation and breakthrough in business, Nevada has more ... Are they the Special Hospitality, Gaming, Famous Convention, and their educations and exports?

"I love Las Vegas because the valley and surrounding mountains provide an unusual beauty that stirs my soul. Even when I'm stuck in traffic, the mountain shadows capture something in my heart. And if I catch a glimpse of Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area, or the top of Mount Charleston, or Sunrise Mountain at sunset, it brings a moment of peace, even from a distance," wrote Jane Ann Morrison.*16

Las Vegas nicer with community service through cultural arts and performance
By Stewart Bell, Jessie Walsh, and Tiffany Chang

The City of Las Vegas and Thai Cultural Arts Association of Las Vegas(TCAA-LV) presented Thai Performing Arts Appreciation Day 2002 at Charleston Heights Arts Center on September 17, 2002.*1 It was co-sponsored by Mr. Jheri Psmyth - Kids for a Better Society; Dr. Tony Lei - President, Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI); Mr. Tim Wong - CEO, Arcata Associates; Mr . Raymond Lam - Vice President, Chinese American Citizen Alliance of Las Vegas; among others. Thai Cultural Arts Association of Las Vegas (TCAA-LV) on the occassion of the 9th anniversary saluted three awardees with Awards from U. S. Senator Harry Reid and U. S. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley: Dr. and Mrs. Tony Lei, Mr. Tim Wong, and Mr. Raymond Lam.

The Association saluted also four awards from TCAA-LV: Ms Joanne Lentino, Ms. Jeanne H. Johnson, Mr Tim Wong, and Ms. Jennifer Schember.

During the Performing Arts Appreciation Day 2002, Dr. Tony Lei was very pleased to welcome so many government officials, community leaders, business owners, among others. High-ranking government officials who participated the Event and Dinner Party included: Lorraine Hunt, Kathy Augustine, Erin Kenny, Bill Maupin, Stewart Bell, Mark Denton, Valorie Vega, Jennifer Elliotts, Valorie Adair, Dianne Steel, Lisa Brown, Anthony Del Vecchio, Cheryl Moss, Natalie Tyrrell, Mike Davison, David Roger, David Wall, Bobby Gronauer, Herb Brown, Bill Young, among others. In his welcome speech, Dr. Lei believes that all of us share a sense of cooperation for the supporting of cultural richness. He pointed out that "this is a significant milestone of the contribution for the mutual cooperation of cultural and social service between American and Asian communities." *2

Lt. Governor Hunt was introduced by Dr. Tony Lei to the public to deliver her greeting speech to all the audiences and participants. The enthusianstic participants were overwhelming including important officers, leaders, and media executives: Brian Sandoval, John Hunt, Nancy Wong, Tim Wong, Nancy Diaz, Kathie Ambrosio, Judy Ray, Gerry Schroder, Francis Allen, Mike Malone, Geny Del Rosario, Teresa Woo, Richard Dennison, Mike Vaswani, Patty Blakeman, Aldo Aguirre, Auroea Maskall, Raymond Lam, Jessica Hwang, among others.*3

Full with enthusianstic attendants in the Hall of the Arts Center, all of them enjoyed a big night out with many elected officials, appointed officers, business executives, and communiry leaders through the atmosphere of elegant and classic dance and music from Thailand.

TCAA-LV's Outstanding Performers Awards were Pannee Connolly, Robert Ashton, Nina Singchai, Kemika Sriprom, and Shirley Kaeratana.

WBTI has supported Thai Cultural Arts Association of Las Vegas (TCAALV) already more than ten years for its annual Thai Performaning Arts - Appreciation Day.*4 It is a vivid example for its proclamation and creed which are for the encouragement and promotion of academic research, community service, and humane spirit. "He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling him. My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another," said the Bible.*5

The following is another example of what we would like to do for related and concerned associations in performance and publicity:

"Dear Tony, Thank you very much for your support of the Singapore Association of Nevada (a non-profit organization) during our launch year of 2003. It is with your support and encouragement that SAN has become a highly respected organization within the State of Nevada and the Republic of Singapore. When I founded SAN in 2003 it was with my strong passion and belief in the Republic of Singapore and the opportunity it provides for Singaporeans and can also provide for Nevadans (including businesses based in Nevada)... Kindest Regards," wrote Jonathan Galaviz, President of Singapore Association of Nevada.*6

Dr. Tony Lei has innovated and encouraged good idea for program and event to improve the quality of life of all our residents and visitors of Nevada. United we stand, not just for our Asian Community only but for all our people and nation as a whole. Asian Community has won recognition for contribution to Nevada by American Mainstream. The main reason for this recognition is the great and cooperative wisdom and effort that the Asian communities have continuously participated and offered to the mainstream society.

"As the Director of Public Administration Institution (PAI) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI), I've shared a pleasant leadership with Dr. Tony Lei cooperated by all the Faculty members of this Institution since it's establishment on January 18, 2000. Innovated in integreting his expertise in institutional management and spiritual value in education, Dr. Tony Lei's effort and wisdom for the community service in Nevada in the recent eight years have been very valuable. We expect Pan Pacific and Asian American Forum (PPAAF) founded by this Institute in September 28, 2001 will contribute to improve the quality of life of the people and the prosperity of this State of Nevada," said Dr. William Thompson, UNLV Professor of Public Administration, at the Gee Joon Chinese Restaurant of Horseshoe Club on January 28, 2002 in Las Vegas. The dinner party was held by Washington Buisness and Technology Institute (WBTI)*7

Meet Lorraine Hunt, Honorary Chairperson of International Cities Business Council of WBTI
By Michael Douglas, Valerie Weber, Bill Young, and Tiffany Chang

The International Cities Business Council (ICBC) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) strives to build a bridge among important cities nationally and internationally. ICBC has set the following goals: (1) Mutual cooperation and development of business, trade, and tourism; (2) Public relations among businesses and professionals; and (3) Social and dinner events within the community with a friendly atmosphere.

"As the Hononary Chairperson of International Cities Business Council of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI), I'll have more venues to work for international tourism with Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn who is the Chairman of the Advisory Board of WBTI. We're putting all our effort and wisdom to work for our people, land, and country under the spiritual leadership of Chairperson Elaine Chao of WBTI," said Lorraine Hunt, Lt. Governor of Nevada, on November 11, 2005.
(The above message was signed by Lt. Governor of Nevada Lorraine Hunt.)*1

Justice of the Supreme Court Michael Douglas, District Judge Jessie Walsh, Clark County Commissioner Lynette McDonald, Nevada Assemblywoman Valerie Weber, Clark County Sherriff Bill Young, business executives and owners, multimedia publishers and Editors-in-Chief, organizational and community leaders, and other VIPs co-sponsored the initial establishment of the Intercity Business Council of Nevada (also known as the "International Cities Business Council") of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) . The historical event took place on December 16, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada, U. S. A.

The Directors of the International Cities Business Council (ICBC) at the present time are: Honorable Han Zheng, Mayor of the City of Shanghai, China, Honorable Jim Gibson, Mayor of the City of Henderson, Nevada, Honorable Michael L. Montandon, Mayor of the City of North Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Stuart Mann, Dean of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), Honorable Feng Wei Lai, County Governor of Penghu, Taiwan, Honorable Changping Zhang, Mayor of Xiamen, China, and the Honorable Tommy Hu, CEO (Mayor) of Xiang Fan, Hubei, China, CEO of United Commercial Bank, notably among others.

Lt. Governor of Nevada Lorraine Hunt was invited as the Honorary Chairperson of International Cities Business Council (ICBC) by President Dr. Tony Lei of WBTI. President Dr. Carol C. Harter of UNLV and Nevada Assemblywoman Valerie Weber were elected as Advisors. Miss Charlyne Chen was appointed Chairperson of ICBC by WBTI.

Nevada Lieutenant Governor Lorraine T. Hunt was re-elected to her current office in the November 2002 General Election. She originally took office in January of 1999. As the lieutenant governor, Hunt is president of the Nevada State Senate, chair of the Nevada Commission on Tourism, chair of the Nevada Commission on Economic Development (which includes the Nevada Film Office) and vice-chair of the Nevada Department of Transportation board of directors. She also sits on the governor s cabinet and serves as chief executive when the governor is unable to serve for any reason or is absent from the state.*2

Hunt is a member of the executive committee of the National Lieutenant Governors Association and serves as vice-chair of the National Republican Lieutenant Governors Association.

It was then that Hunt first demonstrated her entrepreneurial ability by making her first real estate investment in a piece of desert land on the outskirts of Las Vegas. Years later the investment led her into the world of business when she became president and chief executive officer of Perri, Inc., a real estate and restaurant management company.

She has represented the private sector by serving as vice-chair of the Nevada Commission on Tourism; a director and past president of the Nevada Restaurant Association; director, Nevada Hotel-Motel Association; and vice-chair, Nevada Motion Picture Commission and vice chair of the Nevada Motion Picture Foundation.

She began her governmental service with her election to the Clark county commission. She served a four-year term as commissioner and, during her tenure, also served as vice-chair. She also became the first woman to chair the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) since its inception.

Throughout the years Hunt has acquired extensive experience in business and was awarded Nevada s first Governor s Award for Excellence in Business as well as being named Nevada s U.S. Small Business Advocate of the Year. Additional awards and honors include: Casino Legends Hall of Fame, 2001, Educator of the Year, Nevada Restaurant Assoc., 2000; Republican Woman of the Year, 1996; Free Enterprise Award, 1993; Governor s Conference on Tourism - first Lifetime Achievement Award, 1993; Nevada Restaurateur of the Year, 1992; Nevada Small Business Advocate Award, Small Business Administration, 1989; and the first Governor s Award for Excellence in Business, State of Nevada, 1987.

Hunt also participates extensively in community service, including having served on the St. Rose Dominican Hospital Community Board, as past president and trustee of St. Jude s Ranch for Children, and as Vice-Chair of the Pan Pacific and Asian American Forum (PPAAF) of WBTI.*3

Representatives of Air China Cargo have informed Nevada leaders the carrier will use Reno-Tahoe International Airport as a diversion airport when bad weather prevents its scheduled cargo flights from landing in San Francisco, Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt said Thursday.

A letter from the airline also hinted that additional flights between Asia and Northern Nevada could be in store.

In recent years, Hunt has led three missions to China to encourage additional trade and tourism between China and Nevada.*4

Governor Kenny Guinn of Nevada reminds us that tourism is the bedrock of Nevada's economy. To expand and diversify our domestic and international markets are absolutely essential to our long-term economic growth and stability.*5

Governor Kenny Guinn and Lt. Govenor Lorraine Hunt said that Nevada's tourism industry must continue to expand its offerings and reach out to diverse markets that range from outdoor enthusiasts to residents of the world's most populous nation (China). Speaking at the general session of the Governor's Conference on Tourism at Caesars Palace, he and she each praised Nevada's continuing efforts to supplement its gaming-based core with non-gaming amenities such as shopping, dinning, and outdoor recreation.*6

"I can't overstate the significance of China's potential as a visitor market for Nevada," Lt. Governor Hunt said. "I found modern cities rife with elements of Western culture such as Starbucks Coffee, MTV, the Rat Pack-era music of Frank Sinatra, etc. Up to 10 percent of the country's approximately 1.4 billion residents can now afford to travel overseas, which has positioned China as Nevada's "newest and most-modern market" for tourism."

On May 18, 2000 Lt. Governor Lorriane Hunt of Nevada led a delegation from Nevada to Taipei of the Republic of China. "This is important to Nevada in areas beyond just our tourism industry. Taiwan enjoys a growing economy with considerable technological advancement and as such, they are one of the world's top 15 trading nations. And with Nevada's total exports exceeding one billion dollars in 1999 alone, our local businesses stand to benefit as the Taiwanese market continues to prosper and expand," Lt. Governor of Nevada Hunt pointed out in Taipei.*7

"The Nevada Commission on Tourism believes it is vital to establish a presence in Taiwan in order to represent our tourism destinations to this emerging world travel market. Taiwan's capital, Taipei, has a working population of four million, with a youthful, technologically oriented work force. There is tremendous potential for building tourism among this sector," said Hunt.*8

"Similar to the new direction of the government in Taiwan, we are seeking new horizons for the economy of Nevada. Building mutally beneficial relationships with Taiwan, and other foreign countries, will create the demand for direct, regularly scheduled flights. Our work will help Nevada establish contacts for lucrative business and convention visitors from around the world that will form the foundation for a new pillar in the Nevada economy."*9

The famous city is rich in culture and business. For a search of 'Taiyuan china' by the world leading search engines on Internet, we can view its three colorful and beautiful pictures. "Image results for Taiyuan china" is on the first line of Google.com's results at 8:17 a.m. on March 13, 2008.

The e-mail was trying to remind President Song Cao to call him so it would not be a problem for him except for jet lag.*9

Re: You're to be on reviewjournal.com!//RESPONSE - thank you Dr. Lei (Hello Pretty Lady - Judy)
To WBTI:

Dear Sir,

How wondeful! I hit the visitor's winner number Eighty
Thousandth (#80,000) of the Washington Business and
Technology Institute (WBTI) website for Bobby G.
Beside its knownledgeable and richful information, the
creative design with beautiful and colorful paintings
are really impressive.
I was also inspired by WBTI's
many years of contribution in academic research,
community service, and humane spirit.

It was my first time to witness the performance of
the Thai dancers at the "Appreciation Day 2004" which was
supported by WBTI among others - I was so impresssed with
the entertaining and enjoyable performance that was done.

A special thanks to Dr. Tony T. Lei for inviting myself and my boss,
Bobby G, Las Vegas Township Constable.

I look forward to attending the next culture event in
which my husband will also be joining me.

Sincerely,

A thing of beauty is a joy forever
By Mark Denton, Rory Reid, and Tiffany Chang

Dr. Tony Lei, President of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) has been invited to attend the celebration of Drescher Graduate Campus Dedication and Alumni Reunion of Pepperdine University on Novemver 1, 2003. The new facility houses the Beckman Management Center for the Graziadio School of Business and Management (GSBM) as well as the Braun Center for the School of Public Policy and the Graduate School of Education and Psychology. WBTI is expecting to have its Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) cooperate with GSBM in launching MBA/PKE programs.
John Keats said that a thing of beauty is a joy forever. "By following the Congressional Recognition that Congresswoman Shelley Berkley recognizes Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) for its outstanding accomplishment to its Pan Pacific and Asian American Forum (PPAAF), I'm also heartily impressed by its effort to the publicity for the realease of the message and statement of U. S. Senator Harry Reid and Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn on the WBTI website. The work performance of WBTI website is an accomplishment of the value of the truth, the goodness, and the beauty through the creed for a country of the people, by the people, and for the people," Speaker of the Assembly (House) of Nevada Richard Perkins pointed out at the Event and Dinner Party at Harbor Palace Restaurant by the Asian American Community on October 22, 2003 in Las Vegas.
The vision for 2003 of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) is: (1) To launch significant actvities on promoting the tourism, trade, and investment from foreign countries to Nevada. (2) To endeavor academic, cultural, music, and arts events through cooperation among the organizations of civilian and government. We did already good , moreover, we should go on doing better.
"It's my honor to be recommended as an Advisor of Pan Pacific and Asian American Forum. I'm glad to have opportunity to join the intellectuals and facaulty members of Washington Business and Technology Institute to endeavor the work performance in making Nevada a wonderful place for home living, business development, and internatonal tourism," said Bobby Siller, Member of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, at an Asian American Event on October 22, 2003. The event and dinner party was held at the Harbor Palace Restaurant by the Asian American Community in Las Vegas.
To make Nevada a wonderful place, the GSBPA will emphasize the education and technology on Management Information System (MIS). Management systems will become the foundations for coordinated group effort. Our policy makers and advisors will be interested in the treatment of decision-making situation. Specifically, the real-life situations in which there is little or no prior application experience. And in which there is partial applicable experience in both business and public administration. Our mangers will be emphasized on her or his competency in conceptualization of systems and strategies.
"As a Financial Administrator of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI), it's my precious opportunity to realize my potentiality of MBA expertise to work with all these outstanding faculty members of the Graduate School of WBTI under the encouragement and spritual leadership by our Deans Dr. Keong Leong and Dr. E. Lee Bernick," said Lan Yun.
Computers are becoming more faster and very powerful. Persons who master the computers excert a significant influence over the organization in which they work. "With the excellence of knowledge, humanity, and partriotism inspired by Elaine Chao, Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) has continued its many years effort to community service and spiritual belief. Nevada is honor to have WBTI under her spiritual Chairpersonship and I'm especially honor to be a M. I. S. Manager of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration of WBTI," humble as he is, River Sun chatted excitedly during the celebration dinner party at the Gee Joon Chinese Restaurant of Binion's Horseshoe Club. The Moon Festival of Midautumn has been many thousand years celebrated as a day for pariotism by the Chinese people in the Far East and Southeastern Asia. The party was held by WBTI in Las Vegas on September 11, 2003.
The Event by the Asian American Group with many high-ranking officials, community leaders, and business executives was held successfully on October 22, 2003 in Las Vegas. Early the next morning, Dr. Tony Lei received an email from Judge Natalie Tyrrell, Justice of the Peace, North Las Vegas. Natalie wrote: It was truly an honor to be chosen as one of the guests of honor at the Asian American Group's Event on Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at the Harbor Palace Restaurant. I am always so impressed by the commitment and cooperation of the participants in all the Asian organizations represented at last night's dinner. It was so nice to have an opportunity to speak to the group and give everyone an update on recent happenings in North Las Vegas. It was great to see many good friends, including Dr. Tony and Judy Lei. I am looking forward to the next event!
"The significance of the creed of a State deserves to encourage administrative professionals to emphasize the value of the truth, the goodness, and the beauty in order to maintain a country of the people , by the people, and for the people. I'm glad to have the challenge in cooperaton with the faculty members of the Public Administration Institution
of Washington Business and Technology Institute to endeavor the promotion of the quality of life for all our residents and visitors of Nevada," said Nancy Saitta, District Judge of Nedava, at the Harbor Palace Chinese Restaurant in Las Vegas, where an Asian American Event was held by the Asian American Community on October 22, 2003.
"In righteousness you will be established."* (*Isaiah 54:14, "Bible") "In this 21th Century new era and society, we need economic growth, but we also need to establish and promote creativity, fairness and Justice, serve and love, educational knowledge, and spirit engineering. We wish that a pure spring may prosper and enrich our splendid and golden country through: the power of public service that based on 'knowledge is the power of righteouness,'; the advancement of technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation; and the spirit that 'knowledge calls, ultimately, for a life of service'," said Dr. Tony Lei.
