Greece's National Day

Press Statement
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of StateWashington, DC

March 24, 2011

On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate Hellenes and Philhellenes worldwide as you celebrate the 190th anniversary of Greeces Independence this March 25th.

190 years of independence is a significant achievement, but Greek contributions to democracy and liberty go back thousands of years. Every day, countries and people from all regions of the world draw inspiration from Athenian democracy in their own constitutions and legal systems. In the United States, our founders looked to the cradle of democracy and in turn created the words that would be enshrined in our constitution.

Our shared commitment to these universal values has never been more important to the aspirations of people across the globe. Today, our Greek allies continue to set an example with these ideals. Greece is contributing to peace in Europe, South Asia, and North Africa. The United States is proud to have a partner in Greece to help advance and defend democratic principles around the world.

In the United States, Greek Americans have contributed in ways large and small to the fabric of our nation. In arts, sports, politics, business everywhere you look Greek Americans have helped shape our country.

As we celebrate the anniversary of this great republic, know that the United States remains committed to this enduring alliance and the principles of your founding all those years ago. Our country is forever impacted and grateful for the contributions of Hellenes worldwide. Congratulations and best wishes for another 190 years of peace, progress and prosperity.

Flag this messageOne Year Later: The Affordable Care Act is Working for NevadaThursday, March 24, 2011 10:18 AM

From: "Senator Harry Reid" [senator_harry_reid@reid.enews.senate.gov]Add sender to ContactsTo: "judy lei" [tojulei@yahoo.com]

Dear Fellow Nevadan:

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the landmark health insurance reform legislation known as the Affordable Care Act. This important legislation is already helping Nevadans to obtain the quality, effective, and affordable health insurance that they deserve. Health insurance reform is not only lowering costs, but is improving choices, competition, and offering more assistance to ensure that all Americans can afford health insurance.

Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to address the skyrocketing insurance costs and lack of choices that were suffocating Nevadas families, seniors, and small businesses. As each new provision of the law is implemented, Nevadans have one more protection against abusive insurance company practices such as arbitrarily raising rates or unfairly denying treatments that doctors recommend. Health insurance reform is lowering costs for Nevada's small businesses, providing competitive choices in insurance plans for families, eliminating the Medicare Donut Hole for seniors, and stopping insurance companies from denying coverage to children with pre-existing conditions like leukemia.

Yesterday, I visited Pioneer Overhead Door, owned by Ron Nelsen, to talk about how the Affordable Care Act is lowering costs for his business and small businesses across Nevada. Before health insurance reform, Ron struggled to pay for health insurance for his five full-time employees. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, Ron is now able to provide insurance for himself and his employees.

I understand that Nevadans, like Ron Nelsen, cannot afford to go back to the days when insurance costs threatened to stall growth and kill jobs. This is why I will continue fighting to make improvements to the law and protect it as it begins to take effect. Make no mistake, when opponents of health insurance reform advocate repeal, they are really calling for hiking taxes on Nevadas small businesses, raising the cost of prescription drugs for seniors, and exploding the deficit by more than $1 trillion.

I encourage you to learn more about the benefits Nevada will receive as a result of this historic legislation by clicking here. For more information on my work in the Senate or to contact me, please visit my website at reid.senate.gov.

Sincerely,

HARRY REID
U.S. Senator for Nevada

The Affordable Care Act is Lowering Costs and Offering Choices in Nevada

24,797 Nevada seniors who hit the Medicare donut hole received $250 tax-free rebates;
314,000 Medicare beneficiaries now receive preventative services and annual wellness visits;
Nearly 11,200 young adults in Nevada can stay on their parents insurance until age 26;
162,000 kids with a pre-existing conditions cannot be denied coverage
30,345 small businesses in Nevada are eligible for tax credits that offset the costs of purchasing coverage for their employees and make premiums more affordable.
1.6 million Nevada residents with private insurance are protected from insurance companies from imposing lifetime dollar limits on health benefits freeing cancer patients and individuals suffering from other chronic diseases from having to worry coverage for lifesaving treatment running out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mythbuster:

Myth:
The Affordable Care Act will kill 800,000 jobs.

Fact:
The Affordable Care Act will grow the economy and add hundreds of thousands of new jobs to the workforce.

William's future
Wednesday, March 23, 2011 3:04 PM

From: "Joe Biden" [info@barackobama.com]Add sender to ContactsTo: "tony lei" [tojulei@yahoo.com]

Tony --

I want to tell you about a family in Minnesota.

Justin and Kari live in Brooklyn Park, right outside of Minneapolis. They're parents to three children. Their three-year-old, William, was born with a genetic disorder called tuberous sclerosis complex.

For the rest of his life, William will wrestle with tumors in his brain, his heart, his kidneys, his skin, and possibly other major organs. He must take medication to control seizures and faces the threat of kidney disease.

What Justin and Kari want for William is a future. And because of health reform, that's what he'll have.

Today, insurance companies are no longer able to discriminate against William because of the condition he's dealt with since birth. Now, Justin and Kari know they'll be able to get the kind of care that William needs -- today and into the future.

Their story isn't unique, but it's one of many that need to be told. We all know people whose lives have been changed because of the Affordable Care Act, even if we don't realize it. So we've found a way to show exactly how reform is working for all of us -- for our parents, our siblings, our kids, ourselves.

Will you take a minute to take our Health Reform Checkup and let the people you love know how reform is working for them?

Before the Affordable Care Act, Justin and Kari weren't sure about the future. They worried that they'd never be able to find coverage for William again if Justin lost his job. They worried about the life that William would lead -- whether he'd ever be able to work or support a family.

Not anymore. William's condition isn't going away, but he'll always be able to get care. The Affordable Care Act is one year old today, and it has already changed William's life -- and this country -- for good.

Today, there are families who feel better about the future than they did a year ago. They've found some security, some relief. And these are people we know. They're our neighbors, our colleagues, our friends, our families -- the people next to us every day.

On the one-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, I think we have a duty to discuss how reform is already working.

Watch Justin and Kari tell their story, and take a moment to learn how health reform is changing the lives of those you know:

http://my.barackobama.com/Checkup

A year ago, I stood next to the President as he signed health reform into law -- and we have you to thank for making that possible.

Yours,

Joe

"President Dr. and Mrs. Tony T. Lei's elder son John is going to marry Miss Angie Qian on September 29, 2007 at the River of Life Christian Church in Santa Clara, California. Thanks to the Advisory Board and Fculty members of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) to join them in celebrating the Wedding Ceremony. As there will be no dinner or party held in Las Vegas other than in California and Taiwan, Dr. and Mrs. Lei thank their friends in Nevada not to send any present, flower, or greeting letter, but welcome them to share with the coming bride and bridegroom the celebration on WBTI's website," announced Spokesman Dr. John Wang of WBTI in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 17, 2007.

"For many years since they moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, President Dr. and Mrs. Tony T. Lei have contributed to the participating, initiating, and implementing of many events, parties, and projects to help enrich the quality of life of their friends, residents, and communities in Nevada," said District Judge of Nevada Mark Denton. "By not costing any money and time from their friends in Nevada for Angie and Jonh's wedding celebration is just one kind of the spirit of their community service with humane love."

In order to increase the elegance of this article, we are pleased to have Angie and John's writings on how they met at the next article in this section.

The Women Conference will be held by Double Portion Ministries at ROLCC in Santa Clara, California on September 20-22, 2007. Mrs. Belinda M. Liu is the Founder of the Double Portion Ministries. In her recent e-mail to Judy of WBTI, Belinda wrote that Sisters are welcome to click on the Double Portion Ministries' website at www.double-portion.org for more details about the Conference!*1

Searching quotes on 'women' for many pages, we found the one as "You have not lived a perfect day unless you have done something for someone who will never be able to repay you." Belinda has done something good for us.

Beside his academic achievement, last year Dr. Kung wrote an article in Chinese on "How to receive success, self-confidence, and happiness by young people?"*2

Early in September, I spoke to many college students in Beijing. At the time when I was ready to take the freight to go back to U. Like it is for President Dr. Andrew Benton of Pepperdine University, the above example inspires us that significant messages from U. S. Dr. Archie Chang wrote us several times recently. His knowledge, experience, and talent had ranked him in a very high position of the U. S. Department of Education. Passionately, he concerned himself the friendship and involvement with WBTI. He liked Las Vegas and had about three times nice trips here during last two years. "Dear Brother Tony: I have been thinking about you often. We have known each other since childhood. I would like to introduce one of my school mates of Taida to you. Dr. Sydney Chang, Prof. of History, Cal State Univ at Fresno, is a great scholar," wrote Dr. Archie Chang.

"Dear Dr. Lei, I am so glad to be number 60,000th [now at #105,247th] visitor of WBTI's website. I always enjoy reading your articles of political, educational and cultural aspects of this well-designed site. Reading is the most important fundamental skill for success in school and society," wrote Chairperson of the E. Q. Research Committee of WBTI Becky Ung. "I am honored to be the recipient of 49th Assembly District's Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA)Heritage Month Awards in the field of 'FAMILY'. The qualification of this award is: 'This is a parent or a guardian who deserves to be recognized for the outstanding commitment to their family ...' I will continue to strive to empower and educate all children. I wish you the best. Sincerely yours, Becky."

"Thank you so much. It is very kind of you," pointed out E. Q. Expert Becky Ung in her e-mail to WBTI on July 16, 2007 in San Morino, California soon after it published an article for her.*5 Becky is former President and Member of the School Board for Unified School District of San Morino, California.

It is good to receive information from Hawaii Chinese Writers' Association by Miss Yip Fong. She is a bright writer and editor. "Yes the Chinese newspapers were sent by us, thanks for uploading some of our information on your web-site. We have decided to host the 10th Anniversary Dinner for Hawaii Chinese Writers' Association on this Sunday, May 6 2007," wrote Miss Yip Fong in an e-mail to Washington Business and Technology.*6 Thanks to Director of HCWA Lien Yun for her calling to us about the mutual interests from Honolulu, Hawaii to Las Vegas, Nevada.

ROLCC has a daughter church in Las Vegas now. The church would celebrate with sisters and brothers an 'offering church worship'. The sermon and event were held by Senior Pastor Tong Liu of ROLCC on July 28, 2007 in Las Vegas. It was started from 10:00 a.m. in the mornoing on the Saturday. The address of the local church is: 5808 Spring Mountain Road, Suite 109, Las Vegas, NV 89146.

John/Patty Cell Group had been blessed by God for good growth and evangelization. The group used to have sound scheduling to help promote church events. "There are a couple of events this weekend. This Friday ...," wrote John Lei.*7

By the act of love itself, we are enriched. Love in action is service above self. Make service a part of our character and experience the abundant reward that comes from serving others. "It's my appreciation to 'Nevada Examiner' for its publication of my following statement several times," said District Court Judge Cheryl Moss. In community service, Dr. Tony T. Lei's hero is the great servant who has given all for the betterment of others' lives. Let our candles fuel a fire that will fan out an ever-lasting circles. With these circles together we can close our eyes and envision a community that is safe, peaceful, and healthy. The Bible teaches us: "...let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth (1 John 3:18)." District (Family) Court Judge-elect Cheryl Moss wrote Dr. Tony T. Lei, "I am delighted and honored to be appointed as an Associate Fellow of the Public Administration Institution of Washington Business and Technology Institute. Thank you for this opportunity to serve, and I hope to gain more knowledge, insight and awareness about public service and community issues through your prestigious institution. I remain dedicated to helping the community, and I am inspired by your leadership, wisdom and guidance. I am also fortunate to have met you and your wife, Judy, because you are both active and dynamic individuals in the community. Your accomplishments and achievements have demonstrated that taking part in the community does make a difference. Best wishes and thank you again for your unselfish kindness, support and encouragement." *8

On September 23, 2002, District Attorney Stewart L. Bell wrote from his Office to President Dr. Tony Tung-tien Lei of WBTI that, "Dear Dr. Lei, I am honor and prviledged to accept your appointment as Honorary Chairman of the Clark County Distrct Attorney and Police Civil Commission (CCDAPCC) of the Washington Business and Technology Institute. I look forward to meeting with you on October 7th. Very truly yours, Steward L. Bell, District Judge" The letter with a second one at the same date were in the second and third fliers on the section of "Photos & Pitures" of the WBTI's website. The second letter at the same date was also autographed by him as that, "Dear Dr. Lei, I am honor and prviledged to accept your appointment as Senior Advisor of the Clark County Distrct Attorney and Police Civil Commission (CCDAPCC) of the Washington Business and Technology Institute. I look forward to meeting with you on October 7th. Very truly yours, Steward L. Bell, District Judge"

In order to increase the elegance of this article, we are pleased to have Angie and John's writings on how they met at the article in the section of "Angie and John Lei's Wedding Celebration" on September 18, 2007.

In our original edition, it stated that "Mrs. Belinda M. Liu is the Founder of the Double Portion Ministries ( www.double-portion.org) ... ." *1
Searching quotes on 'women' for many pages, we found the one as "You have not lived a perfect day unless you have done something for someone who will never be able to repay you." Belinda has done something good for us.

"The drama of the Women's Conference by DPM this evening on September 20, 2007 was very nice!" praised Judy and Tony of WBTI. We were impressed by the wonderful work performance of all the participants of the whole team work. Praise God! The first part of the drama was elegant to inspire a grace imagination and preview of Angie and John's wedding celebration!

The Drama was held by Mrs. Belinda M. Liu. Her husband, Rev. Tong Liu, Senior Pastor of ROLCC praised the Conference with a short speech. She dilivered a significant preach on the importance of praying. She had experienced amazing response and bless from God to her prayers for her mother and daughters.

Brother Joseph Kiang wrote John and Judy at 2:55 p.m. on 091807 that, "On 9/17/07, Charline Sun [chu12??@yahoo.com] wrote: There are still short of the child care. ..." WBTI did forward it immedeately as a species of its community service for the similarlities.

Since the establishment of WBTI on January 8, 1996, President Dr. and Mrs. Tony T. Lei have enjoyed the significance to host and honor its Advisory Board and faculty members and their friends. The following are just a few examples:

The spirit of both the innovation and entreprenuership has also helped motivate the United States of America to be a leading and prosperous country in the World. With its high-speed capability, Fiber Optics can convey mass quantity of images and voice information. It is because that the broadband technology such as Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) has been more and more developed. Moreover, because of the popular building of radio communication networks, wireless techniques may access important information from the web and condense it to be appeared on the small web connecting machines such as a hand-held screen. The open free software LINUX operating system can even connect various stations very easilly. All these advancement in science and technology, should be used to inspire the promotion of the quality of our daily life. In this new era of information and web works, we should add humane concern into our thinking structures. Praise God! A cell group is also planning to join us to worship there. In the Women Conference on September, Mrs. Darlene Cunningham has been invited by me as a Kenote Speaker. She's famous. She loves China and Chinese very much. She has dreamed to be a preacher for Chinese since her youth. To unite our work with other organizations is a key to our innovative endeavor," talked Mrs. Belinda Liu, Founder of Double Portion Ministries, at her Sunday School on February 4, 2007.

A strong English adult service is vital to ROLCC's goal to become a 'Home for All Nations'. 5 years ago I had visions of our English adult service packed with people. I have faith God will bless our English service. Let us all invite our friends and family to the 3rd service!" wrote John Lei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ROLCC, on February 4, 2004.

"Many of you have watched Dr. Jee-in Mao s nutrition programs on TV. With the support of the American Cancer Society Northern California Chinese Unit (ACS-NCUU), I'm excited to let you know that Dr. Jee-in Mao will be speaking on food-shopping with cancer prevention in mind next Saturday 2/3 at 10:00-12:00 noon. Dr. Jee-in Mao is a registered dietician and has been a member of the American Dietetic Association since 1986. Her undergraduate study was in agriculture at National Taiwan University, and graduate school studies included a master s degree in nutrition studies from UCLA, and doctorate degree in human nutrition from the University of Maryland. Dr. Jee-in Mao has done a number of nutritional studies and researches. Lei in an article to WBTI.

LIVERight, a community service HBV free blood screen/seminar took place on Saturday, 1/13 from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. This was a joint effort between Asian Liver Center (ALC) at Stanford University and Holiday Plaza Series at River of Life Christian Church (ROLCC). We are really thankful that this collaboration was a great success. ALC and ROLCC are embracing the same vision in serving the community via community awareness seminar/blood screen on one of the biggest killers, hepatitis B/liver cancer in Asian community. We had 238 people screened over the event; approximately 400 audiences came for the presentation. At large or little, we knew we had made the difference.

Dr. So did the presentation in English with Jordan Su's concurrent translation to Mandarin. Many people gave positive feedback, and everyone I spoke to felt that they have learned a lot of useful life-saving tips! In the presentation, Dr. So once again reminded us how serious hepatitis B is impacting the Asians and Asian Americans. In certain part of China , the impact was much worse-1/6 of population is infected by HBV. He spoke about the trasmission route for hepatitis B. He spoke about what each of us should do. If people are not carriers, they should definitely get the 3-slot immunization as soon as possible, which will protect them for life. If they are HBV carriers, they need to monitor their liver status on a regular basis.

To me, this joint event between ALC and ROLCC is just a starting. Based on the feedback we got from the attendants, we hope to see more ALC-ROLCC collaborative projects happened in times to come. We believe that this combined effort will provide the best service and a blessing to the community!

This event was beyond our expectation and turn out a great success. Of course, the most comforting thing to know is that some people's lives will be saved because of the knowledge they learn!

The above four paragraphs are reported by Dr. Ingrid Ou.*3

Dr. Ingrid Ying C. Ou is a senior scientist working for ALZA, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical in Mountain View, CA. Ingrid got her doctoral degree from University of Washington , Seattle . Her passion in life is to serve the Lord and live up to HIS glory using her skills and interests in medicine. She also greatly enjoys serving the Lord in Single Adult and Children ministry (choir and musical program) at ROLCC. She believes that being Christian is not all about going to church. She believes that God s words can really equip us to a much better player in all areas of our life, at work and in the family. God's words are relevant to our daily lives; He helps us to achieve a higher level that we could not have done by our own means. In the spare time, Dr. Ingrid Ou enjoys ballet, running and playing piano. She and her husband currently reside in Sunnyvale, CA.

"In this era where massive amount of information is often found via internet, I think that the mission of WBTI is timely and visionary. The impact of Lord in the community will be enlarged via web publishing and more of Good news will be effectively going to those who need them the most," pointed out Dr. Ingrid Ou.

Dear Dr. Lei, Hope that you enjoyed the Dr. So's talk yesterday. As indicated in my email to you earlier this week, below is the script that I promoted last week at the English congregation: "In this coming Saturday, we will have the privilege of having Dr. So from Stanford, Asian Liver Center to come here to give us an education seminar on liver health. This is an event that you can't afford to miss. ... I will be here after the service to take your registration and answer any question that you may have. Thank you."

Here is an introduction of Dr. So: Dr. Samuel So is a professor and a liver cancer surgeon in the Department of Surgery and directs the Liver Cancer Program at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. So is originally from Hong Kong. In 1996, Dr So established the Asian Liver Center to address the disproportionately high prevalence of hepatitis B and liver Cancer in the Asian and Asian Americans with the ultimate goal of eradicating hepatitis B worldwide and eliminating the threat of liver cancer.

The Asian Liver Center at Stanford is the only non-profit organization in the United States that addresses the high incidence of hepatitis B and liver cancer in Asians and Asian-Americans. Founded in 1996, the center uses a three-pronged approach towards fighting hepatitis B through outreach, education , and research.*4 More is available from http://liver.stanford.edu/ALC/ALC_staff.php

"Dear Dr. Lei, It was my great honor to meet you last Sunday. Thank you so much for your support for the event, which I believe is going to benefit a lot of us," wrote Dr. Ingrid Ou to Washington Business and Technology Institute on January 10, 2007.

"Dear Belinda: May God bless your wonderful work and serving heart. At the beginning of year 2007, I felt that God wants me to examine my past failures so that I know where I fall and what can I do to grow in Christ; just like the Israelites during the Deuteronomy time. Therefore by attending your class God reminded me that He is a God of covenant and promise. He is a faithful God that will never forsake me and will guide me through the wilderness just as He guides Israel. I look forward to more classes to learn of God's Words and Works so that I can live in God's promise land. Thank you so much and may God pour out His double blessings upon you. Rebecca," wrote Miss Rebecca Pang again for this article to WBTI on February 2, 2007.*5

Best wishes and thank you again for your unselfish kindness, support and encouragement." *14

"Shalom Tony & Judy: Thank you for your encouraging words, which have inspired me with my endeavor to enlarge the mission for God through website since last two years in my heart. I've felt really that God had treated me nicely during these days. ... I've desperated to serve God. I couldn't imagine that now it has been grown for me developing the reign of God. I've been on the WBTI website. It's really very rich and I couldn't complete in reading it! ... It's my desire to read it again carefully. I'm submitting some of my wishes, but I'm not sure whether it's appropriate. Please tell me and I may have some preparation again. Thank you very much of your praise and quick coordinating. I hope to follow you and next time my action will be faster. I'll present you with two of my books (in the Sunday School). Your comment to these books will highly be appreciated! Belinda," wrote Mrs. Belinda M. Liu in Chinese to President Dr. Tony T. Lei of WBTI and his wife Judy. Praise God!*15

"It'll be really a challenge and honor to be the Governor of Nevada and the Chairman of the Advisory Board of WBTI onece I'm elected in Office in January 2007. It's my great pleasure to take the responsibility," said U. S. Congressman James Gibbons at the Business Mixier held by Asian Republicans of Nevada at April 23, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The agreement was made by Jim to President Dr. Tony Lei of WBTI through a pleasant conversation between the two parties during the Event.*16 Jim is Governor of Nevada starting from January 1, 2007. Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons is now Chairman of the Advisory Board of WBTI.

It is significant for Dr. Kenny C. Guinn to write President Dr. Tony T. Lei of WBTI as in the following: "It is only with the dedication and commitment of good people like yourself that I will achieve my goal of becoming Governor of this great state. Dema and I can't thank you enough for your assistance and your positive activivities in the community." *17 Kenny was Nevada Governor for eight years until December 31, 2006. Former Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn had been Chairman of the Advisory Board of WBTI from 1999 to 2006.

"When I take a step back and look at my life, I can't help but think how bless I am for all God has given to me. So many times, we take what we have for granted, but it's really not until we have lost everything, that we realize the true beauty in our downfalls - the strength to rise again," wrote Miss Frances Liu, Berlinda's daughter.*16 It is quoted from one of the prefaces (written by Miss Frances Liu) of the book "To Pray for the God's Characters of Our Children". The book was written by Mrs. Belinda M. Liu.

This section has been proved to be God's creation, and thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to develop our mission under the reign of God! Belinda," wrote Mrs. Belinda M. Liu in Chinese early in the morning to Washington Business and Technology Institute.

ROLCC has a daughter church in Las Vegas now. The church will celebrate with sisters and brothers an 'offering church worship'. The sermon and event will be held by Senior Pastor Tong Liu of ROLCC on July 28, 2007 in Las Vegas. It will start from 10:00 a.m. in the mornoing on Saturday. The address of the local church is: 5808 Spring Mountain Road, Suite 109, Las Vegas, NV 89146.

The following three quotes will give us a little impression about Las Vegas:

"It's hard to imagine a bigger desert oasis than Las Vegas." ---Cinnamon Stomberger

"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." --Jeff Candido and Jason Hoff, advertising slogan written for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, 2002

"Las Vegas - my favorite desert mirage." ---Val Saintsbury

John/Patty Cell Group has been blessed by God for good growth and evangelization. The group used to have sound scheduling to help promote church events. "There are a couple of events this weekend. This Friday 7/27 at 7:30pm, we are all welcomed to watch a movie together at church on the topic of dealing with depression. After the movie some of us may hang out at a snack place and chat," wrote John Lei.*7

Dr. Samuel So did the presentation in English with Jordan Su's concurrent translation to Mandarin. Many people gave positive feedback, and everyone I spoke to felt that they have learned a lot of useful life-saving tips! In the presentation, Dr. So once again reminded us how serious hepatitis B is impacting the Asians and Asian Americans.

Ingrid Ou.*12

Rebecca," wrote Miss Rebecca Pang again for this article to WBTI on February 2, 2007.*14

Tony --

One year ago this Wednesday, President Obama signed health insurance reform into law.

It was a historic moment, more than 100 years in the making. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, children with pre-existing conditions can no longer be denied coverage, insurance companies can't drop your coverage if you become sick, and 32 million Americans will have access to affordable health insurance for the first time.

The number of Americans personally benefiting from reform continues to grow -- and, this week, OFA is making sure we can all learn more about what this law does to help our families, friends, and neighbors.

Volunteers will attend events around the country to mark the Affordable Care Act's anniversary -- and one of the events is in Las Vegas this Thursday, March 24th.

Can you make it? Here are the details:

What: Affordable Care Act anniversary event

Where: OFA_NV HQ
2475 S. Jones Ste 7
Las Vegas, NV 89146

When: Thursday, March 24th
5:00 pm

We all know there's a lot of misinformation out there about the Affordable Care Act.

That's why this Las Vegas event matters. Volunteers will learn the facts about health reform and leave better able to discuss the law with families, neighbors, and colleagues. We'll also talk about what we can do to protect our progress and beat back attempts to tear down reform.

Come out on Thursday to learn more:

Thanks,

Jeremy

Video Remarks to the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance Annual Meeting

Remarks
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of State
Vilnius, Lithuania

March 18, 2011

Good afternoon. I~{!/~}m delighted to be able to address this first annual meeting of the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance. And I join you in honoring Prime Minister Kubilius of Lithuania and Prime Minister Dombrovskis of Latvia for all they are doing to reform state-owned enterprises and build vibrant 21st century economies.

The transformation of the Baltic region over the past two decades is remarkable. You have shown a commitment to democracy and expanding economic opportunities that is transforming your communities and your countries. I share with all of you the belief that transparent corporate governance is essential to stable finance markets and sustainable economic growth. It prevents corruption and helps attract the business and investment required to make economies grow.

Your work to reform state-owned enterprises sends a strong message across the region about the importance of transparency and accountability. As you continue to grow stronger economies and increase opportunity, know that the United States stands with you.

Thank you.

St. Patrick's Day

Press Statement
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of State
Washington, DC

March 16, 2011

On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of Ireland as they celebrate St. Patrick's Day this March 17th. The bonds between our two nations stretch back to the beginnings of both republics, and the ties of kinship, history, and shared values run deep. Americans also celebrate this holiday as an occasion to commemorate the innumerable contributions Irelands sons and daughters have made in building the United States. Thanks to the many millions of Irish-Americans in the United States ?as well as the millions more who feel Irish for a day ?St. Patricks Day unites our countries by a shared appreciation for the Irish spirit. Please accept my best wishes for another year of peace and prosperity. Erin go Bragh!
