I am writing to you today to share some exciting news you may not already be aware of. Days before the Republican presidential candidates bring their no-jobs, no-Medicare agenda to Nevada at their October debate, Project New West will be holding their 2011 Summit at World Market Center in Las Vegas, October 16-18th.

Nevada is very lucky to have the opportunity to host this event and you should mark it on your calendar.

The Summit will bring together the most preeminent political, civic, academic, and business leaders in the West for a three-day conversation about the challenges and opportunities we face as a region, as well as a look ahead to how we win in the West in 2012. As you know, Nevada Democrats have made great gains in the last few election cycles that have helped us win highly competitive races while facing the biggest Republican wave in generations. To sustain our momentum for the upcoming elections next year, it is important we come together with other Western leaders to exchange ideas that will create a plan to capitalize on our past successes, as well as strategize on how to overcome any challenges we may face.
