Dear Tony and Judy:

Happy Lunar New Year to you and your family! Wishing your days ahead filled with great work and happiness! Forward to you my speech entitled "The Solution to Poverty" delivered at Tsinghua university in a set of 14 slides as ppt.

This International Symposium was sponsored by Wang Foundation and administered or jointly sponsored with Tsinghua University. It was the Inaugural Symposium dealing with Poverty Issues in China and it was attended by many high level Chinese government officials. You may find out more details in our web site www.Wangfoundation.net

I am sorry that we missed you in your recent visit to the bay area because we were out of town and in China at that time. Here, Grace and I wish to extend our invitation to you to visit us in 2008 at your convenience. But please give us some advanced notice. Looking forward to that opportunity to exchange views with you of our collective future. I am very happy of the response to you by Senator Hilary Clinton. She is the one we should all rally behind to give her our support. I have switched my party affiliation in order to vote for this great Lady as our next president.

Wishing you another productive year for bridging the gap between the American and Chinese people!

Your old classmate,

Peter

Dear judy,

We just won the Democratic caucuses in Nevada -- and I owe you so much for making this winning moment possible. I want to take a moment to thank you for all the hard work you have done here. I have learned so much from the people of Nevada over these recent months, and I will carry those lessons with me as we move our campaign forward.*2

Just like you did today, people across the country are placing their faith in our campaign, especially those hardest hit by the recent downturn in the economy. With the support you showed today, I know we won't let them down. We're working together to bring about change, and America is responding to our efforts.

Thanks so much for sharing this remarkable journey with me!*3

All the best,

About U. S. Senator Hillary Clinton:

Hillary Rodham Clinton is a United States Senator of New York. As a Senator, she has continued her advocacy for children and families and has been a national leader on homeland security and national security issues.
She is married to Bill Clinton, the U. S. 42nd President. From 1993 to 2001, Hillary was the First Lady of the United States. As a candidate in the 2008 United States presidential election, she has consistently been the front-runner in polls for the Democratic nomination.
During her years as First Lady of the United States, she was successful in several areas, such as establishing the Children's Health Insurance Program in 1997.
Hillary's commitment to health care for every American has never wavered. She was instrumental in designing and championing the State Children's Health Insurance Program, which has provided millions of children with health insurance. She battled the big drug companies to force them to test their drugs for children and to make sure all kids get the immunizations they need through the Vaccines for Children Program. Immunization rates dramatically improved after the program launched.
Her 1995 book "It Takes A Village," about the responsibility we all have to help children succeed, became an international best seller. The Lady has donated the proceeds -- more than a million dollars -- to children's causes across the country. Her autobiography, "Living History," was also a best seller. The book has been translated into 12 languages and sold over 1.3 million copies.
In 2000, Hillary was elected to the United States Senate from New York. As Senator, Hillary has continued her advocacy for children and families and has been a national leader on homeland security and national security issues.
U. S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was re-elected by a wide margin in 2006. New Yorkers reelected her to the U. S. Senate with 67 percent of the vote. She is now campaigned by her husband, former U. S. President Bill Clinton, and supporters for the United States President. U. S. Senator Hillary R. Clinton is one of the Distinguished Authors of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI).

mike --

We just left our last rally here in Las Vegas before the caucuses tomorrow at 11:00 a.m., and I wanted to get in touch with you one final time.

Michelle's been telling me about an event she held yesterday with our friend Senator John Kerry. If you haven't found your caucus location yet, check out a video of the event and find it now:

http://nevada.barackobama.com/MichelleInNV

We're coming to the end of an eleven-month journey here in Nevada, and what you've done is astonishing.

In a state that's never held an early caucus before, you got involved, reached out to your friends and neighbors, and built a movement from the ground up.

Because of your commitment, people took notice and started listening. Then more and more people did.

It's been inspiring to watch, and it gives me great faith that the American people -- not just here, but across the country -- are ready to stop settling for what the cynics tell us we must accept and start reaching for what's possible.

In the past few days, I've only become more convinced that the choices in this election are clear, and the stakes are high.

If you caucus for me tomorrow -- if we stand together with one voice -- we can take this country in a fundamentally new direction. Real change will be within reach, and this movement will only grow.

Let's go change the world.

Barack

Senator Clinton's attacks(www.nevada.barackobama.com)
By David Cohen

[To WBTI at Fri, 18 Jan 2008 15:13:04 -0500
from: "David Cohen, Nevada.BarackObama.com" (nevada@barackobama.com)]

Dear mike,

From the beginning of this campaign, Barack has pledged to be open and honest with the American people -- to tell us what we need to know, not just what we want to hear. That kind of honesty is at the core of our movement, because if we adopt Karl Rove campaign tactics of deception and fear, we're never going to change Washington and bring the country together to get things done.

Over the last few days, those same old tactics have come to Nevada.

Hillary Clinton has sent direct mail pieces to Nevadans distorting Barack's position on Social Security.
She is on the radio deliberately confusing voters about his long-standing opposition to Yucca Mountain.
She is on TV misleading people about his outspoken position against the war in Iraq.
But perhaps most disturbing, Clinton has attacked Barack on his 100% pro-choice record.

The tone of Senator Clinton's campaign has been so negative that even her supporters are saying enough is enough. Lorna Brett, a former Clinton donor and president of Chicago National Organization for Women, had this to say about the tactics:

"I was disappointed that Hillary Clinton would launch misleading attacks on Barack Obama and his unimpeachable record on a woman's right to choose. I have switched my support to Barack Obama because I know the truth. I cannot be a part of that kind of deceptive politics."
It is time to turn the page on the politics of fear and deception. Please join us and attend your local caucus this Saturday at 11 a.m. Cast your vote for Barack Obama and our future.

Find your caucus location and stand up for change this Saturday at 11:00 a.m.:

http://nevada.barackobama.com/findyourcaucus

Barack has always said that if he's attacked he will respond forcefully with the truth -- but that he's not going to be part of the negative, misleading political games that keep us from getting things done.

Tomorrow, you have the power to move our country beyond deceptive politics. Stand for change this Saturday by caucusing for Barack Obama.

Find your caucus location, and be sure to bring your family and friends to caucus on Saturday:

http://nevada.barackobama.com/findyourcaucus

Barack understands that if we want to solve the biggest problems facing our nation, then we can't just change parties in the White House -- we need to change our politics. Tomorrow morning at 11, you can stand for change.

Thank you,

David

**--**

Dear judy,

There is just one day left before Nevadans go to caucus, and you have a very important decision to make.

We all agree that it's time for a change. As I've talked to Nevadans over the past year, I have heard that message loud and clear.

Right now our families are feeling the squeeze as the economy heads toward a possible recession. We have a war in Iraq to end and a war in Afghanistan to resolve. We have a mortgage crisis and a health care crisis to solve, and we need to stop global warming in its tracks. If we work together, I know we can accomplish all this and more.

That's why I hope you'll go out and caucus for me on Saturday morning, and encourage your family and friends to do the same. If you do, I promise that as president I will fight for you every day.

If you have any questions about the caucus process, please visit the caucus page on my website or contact my office at 1-877.... My staff in Nevada are also walking everyone through how to caucus tonight at 7 p.m. PST. To participate, use the following dial-in information:

Dial in: 877...
Participant passcode: 98??7?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support you have shown me over the past year.

Sincerely,

(Autograph)
Hillary Rodham Clinton

Come Out and Caucus Tomorrow
By Barack Obama

[To WBTI at Fri, 18 Jan 2008 10:12:15 -0600 (info@johnkerry.com)]

Hello Friend,

I want to take this moment to thank Senator Kerry for his kind words of support, and for giving me the opportunity to send you this message.

John and I are back in Nevada today for the final push before the caucuses this Saturday, and you've got us fired up.

The excitement this campaign has generated just in the past few days here is inspiring. We've recruited precinct captains all across the state, filled up auditoriums and gyms from Reno to Henderson, and we talked to almost 10,000 potential caucusgoers during a statewide canvass last Saturday.

These kinds of accomplishments tell me that what's happening here in Nevada is the same thing happening across the country. The American people are hungry for fundamental change -- and they know that you don箃 create change by playing the same old Washington games year after year with the same Washington players.

We're on the brink of making history together -- but to do it, I need you to caucus this Saturday, January 19 at 11:00 a.m. and make sure we come out of Nevada with a boost of energy that will help us win across the country.

Your caucus will be at a school, church, or community center in your neighborhood. Look up your caucus location now -- and make sure to come out this Saturday and stand for change:

http://nevada.barackobama.com/findyourcaucus

For the first time in a long time, we have the chance to build a new majority in this election -- not just of Democrats, but of Independents and even Republicans who have lost faith in their Washington leaders but want to believe again.

That's how we'll win in November, and that's how -- over the next four years -- we'll finally solve the problems politicians talk about year after year.

I can't do this without you. We're poised to do very well on Caucus Day, and we can't let up now. We've got to do what I learned to do as a community organizer in Chicago more than 20 years ago -- harness all of our passion and energy and turn it action.

Look up your caucus location so you know where to go on Caucus Day:

http://nevada.barackobama.com/findyourcaucus

If you caucus for me this Saturday, January 19 at 11:00 a.m., then I am confident that we will not only win this election -- we'll transform this country.

Thank you,

Barack Obama

P.S. -- There's still time for you to take the next step and join our team here in Nevada. Learn more about how your can get involved right now and sign up to help us win Saturday箂 caucuses:

A Historic Fight Begins In California
By Kathleen To President, 80-20 PAC, Inc.

[To WBTI at Fri, 18 Jan 2008 08:11:36 -0800 (PST) from "80-20PACPresident" {AsianAmericanUnity@80-20.us}]

80-20 Educational Foundation didn't get a reply with all yeses from
Sen. Obama. The deadline stated in S. B. Woo's earnest "open letter"
to him has passed. The Board of 80-20 PAC voted unanimously to
endorse Sen. Clinton for the Calif. Democratic primary on Feb.
5. $30,000 has been appropriated to buy ads in Asian ethnic media in
CA to spread the news of our endorsement. More is available, if needed.

A Historic Fight Begins

This newsletter answers 3 key questions: What are we fighting for? Why is
the fight historic? Why choose to fight in the CA Democratic primary?

What are we fighting for?
We are fighting so that the-hard fought commitment finally made to us
by Sen. Clinton will be preserved after the Dem. primary is over.
If Sen. Obama wins, then the iron-clad "Clinton commitment" will
become null and void, because the primary is an elimination process.

Hence, we are truly fighting for ourselves --to finally enjoy equal justice
and equal opportunity in workplaces -- rights already enjoyed by ALL
Americans except for Asian Americans.

Why is the fight historic?.
If we soundly defeat Obama in the California Democratic primary, and
the polls verify that Asian Americans voted in UNusually high numbers
and predominantly for Clinton, then there will be a SEISMIC change in
political attitude towards Asian Ams. in both parties. Why?

AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Comm.) can target a politician
nationally and make that politician lose the next election. The Cuban
Americans can make a politician lose in Florida. That is why the 6-
million Jewish Americans and the 1 million Cuban Americans are
politically so powerful. If the 13 million Asian Americans can target
a top-tier presidential candidate, and make him lose in CA and perhaps
nationally, Wow! Word will go forward that the Asian American
community has finally become a politically cohesiveness body.

Why fight the battle in the CA Democratic Primary?
Because the battle conditions are the most ideal* for us to achieve the
above goal.

Why is 80-20 picking on Sen. Obama?
Quite to the contrary, 80-20 was most considerate to Sen. Obama. You
may recall that 80-20 challenged Sen. Clinton to be the first of the top-
tier presidential candidates to reply to its questionnaire with all yeses.
We focused on Sen. Obama for a reply, only after Sen. Clinton &
Edwards have both replied with all yeses, although Obama has had our
questionnaire for 6 months as all others. By then it was clearly
politically safe for him to also answer yes. However, he willfully refused.
So it was NOT that we picked on him, it is he who didn't care for us!
Sen. Obama left us with no choice but to defeat his candidacy.

Respectfully yours,

Kathleen To
President, 80-20 PAC, Inc.

* The ideal convergence of battle conditions are shown below:
1. CA sends the largest % of delegates, 10.7%, to the Dem National
Convention (DNC) which selects Dem's presidential nominee.
2. CA has the highest % of voters who are Asian Ams, 6 to 8% in a
General election.
3. In most primaries, only half the voters normally come out to vote.
But 80-20, using its huge email list and political ads, can keep the
fraction of AsAm voters much higher.
4. CA's Dem. Primary allows Declines/Independents (D/I) to vote. This
gives Asian Ams. a huge advantage. 43% of Asian Ams are registered
as D/I, while 23% is the average of all other communities. Hence we
estimate the % of AsAm voters in the CA Dem primary to be 16%.
5. It is very easy for D/I to vote in the Dem. Primary. Any D/I can go to
the polling place on the polling day [2/5, Tuesday] to ask for a ballot
from the Dem Party to vote.
6. CA's AsAm voters has a tradition of voting 70/30 for 80-20's endorsed
candidate.
7. Sen. Clinton has the endorsement of most Asian Am elected officials
in CA, while Sen Obama has one or none. The combined influence of
those elected officials and 80-20 will bring you the "equality" you are
looking for through this HISTORIC fight.

If there were no Lillian Wallace, there would have no Seniors United, and especially there would have no "The Highlights Maganize" since 1966. The lady has vanished, but her spirit remains with us. This is the forth anniversary of its publication for the Volume III, Issue X on March 2000. ...

Sheri wrote Dr. Tony Lei that, "I have just received your fax of the article wherein WBTI appointed me as PAI Associate Fellow. Please let me convey my extreme gratitude for such an honor. Serving the needs of our senior citizen population has been a passionate goal of mine and I look forward to working with the Public Administration Institution (PAI) in improving the lives of the senior citizens in our community.*3

"In the first paragraph of this column on September 15, it stated that on September 7, U. S. Senate Candidate John Ensign wrote: "Please accept my best wishes as you come together in celebration of the Thai Performaning Arts, Appreciation Day 2000. The importance of sharing culture through art and festivities that bring people together serves to enhance all of us more by enriching our lives with the diversity of people and their customs. I especially would like to extend my appreciation to Dr. Tony T. Lei for his commitment and enthusiantic support of the Thai Performing Arts." He accepted Dr. Tony T. Electable
By David Cohen
[To WBTI at Wed, 16 Jan 2008 18:42:09 -0500 (nevada@barackobama.com)]
Dear mike,

Year after year, we see politicians try to get elected by dividing our country instead of bringing us together.

It's no surprise Washington is stuck in the rut it's in, where lobbyists set the agenda and people talk endlessly about our problems without ever coming together to fix them.

But in Nevada, New Hampshire, Iowa, and across America, something amazing has happened over the past 11 months. People from all walks of life -- young, old, black, white, Latino, Asian American -- are excited about this movement.

That's why a Zogby poll conducted December 12-14 shows Barack Obama as the most electable candidate in this race and the only Democrat who is leading every potential Republican challenger:

Sen. Obama Sen. Clinton Sen. Edwards
Gov. Romney 35% 53% 44% 46% 38% 50%
Gov. Huckabee 42% 47% 48% 43% 41% 47%
Mayor Giuliani 39% 48% 46% 42% 45% 44%
Sen. McCain 43% 47% 49% 42% 46% 42%
Sen. Thompson 36% 52% 42% 48% 35% 51%

In just the past few days, Democratic senators and governors from traditionally Republican states like Arizona, Nebraska, and South Dakota have endorsed Barack because of what these numbers show -- that Barack can bring millions of new people into the political process and compete all across the country.

Check out what some "Red State" Democrats have said about Barack -- and find your caucus location so we can make history this Saturday, January 19 at 11:00 a.m.:

http://nevada.barackobama.com/electability

Many of our supporters have never been involved in politics before.

They're young people who've felt that their government wasn't listening to them. They're Democrats, Independents, and even Republicans who've been shut out and disappointed by the same old Washington games.

But they know that we have a rare opportunity in the next three days.

We don't have to keep settling for what the cynics tell us we must accept. In this election, we can reach for what we know is possible.

That's not just how we'll win in November -- it's how we'll govern for the next four years and finally start solving the problems politicians keep talking about.

See what people are saying about Barack, and find your caucus location now:

press release--GOVERNOR GIBBONS NAMES IKRAM KHAN, M.D. SPECIAL ADVISOR ON HEALTHCARE
By Melissa Subbotin
[To WBTI at Wed, 16 Jan 2008 09:42:16 -0800
From: "Melissa Subbotin" (msubbotin@GOV.NV.GOV)]
Carson City Governor Jim Gibbons announced today that he has named Ikram Khan, M.D. as an advisor on healthcare issues. Dr. Khan will advise the Governor on healthcare policy and issues concerning healthcare providers, purchasers of healthcare, consumers, and health insurers.

Nevada has consistently ranked as one of the top 10 states with the highest percentage of working adults without health insurance.

Governor Gibbons remains concerned that escalating health insurance premiums will continue to force employers, particularly small businesses, to limit health coverage for employees. 揂ll Nevadans deserve access to affordable healthcare. Rising costs will limit many employers and employees from obtaining necessary coverage, resulting in an overwhelming number of employed but uninsured Nevadans, said Governor Gibbons.

Dr. Khan has over 25 years of exceptional leadership in the area of healthcare policy and strategy, both in the private and public sectors, and has served on several prestigious boards, commissions, and committees throughout the state of Nevada .

揇r. Khan抯 experience will be essential to my administration and I look forward to working with him to explore creative solutions that will increase the availability of healthcare for all Nevadans, Governor Gibbons added.

Most recently, he was appointed by Governor Gibbons to the Nevada Academy of Health for the State of Nevada . In December of 2006, he was appointed by Governor Guinn to the Academy of Heath Steering Committee . That same year, he became a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents Ad Hoc Health and Sciences Center Committee.

Dr. Khan was nominated by the President of United States, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate, to serve as a member of the Board of Regents for the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences- an advisory board to the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

He also received the U.S. Presidential Recognition for 揝teadfast devotion to the health and well being of patients and helping to 損romote the highest standards in Practice of Medicine.

揑t will be an honor and a pleasure to serve as the Governor抯 special advisor on healthcare. For many years, I have witnessed the challenges created by unaffordable healthcare coverage, which has left many Nevadans in dire need of services they simply cannot afford. I am committed to working with Governor Gibbons to develop creative and sound solutions that will help provide greater access to vital healthcare coverage for all Nevadans, said Dr. Khan.

Attached please find Dr. Ikram U. Khan抯 full bio and extensive history of service to the State of Nevada .

Knowledge, E.Q., and Wisdom!
By Bill Maupin, Michael Douglas, Mark Denton, Stewart Bell, Valorie Vega, Jackie Glass, Jessie Walsh, John Ponticello, Nancy Oesterle, Valerie Weber, Bobby G. Gronauer, Francis Allen, Cheryl Moss, and Jennifer Kung

***** Benton wbti: Dr. Sun-Yuan Kung once pointed out in this Forum, "Success equals self-confidence plus happiness (= high E.Q. + I.Q. + A.Q.)"

The Tuesday debate was a show for publicity! For Kennedy and Nixon, the year was TV. Innovation has brought us to the Internet. The innovative marketing is now by the brilliance of world leading search engines on Internet.

We could find only one "difference" that was made during the whole thing. After the slogan of "change" by Barack, several of the candidates followed, let alone sometime probably Hillary. One day before the debate, we were inspired by an angel to design "Vision, Innovation, and Heart" for her feature article through the world leading search engines Giants. Barack followed ours and used "Vision" as his new slogan on the January 15 Debate in Las Vegas. How clever!

"The willingness to create a new vision is a statement of your belief in your potential," pointed out David McNally.

Carl Schutz told us that, "Ideals are like stars. You will not succeed in touching them with your hands. But like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides and following them you will reach your destiny." It is our pleasure to inspire the significance of the idea, "The world of tomorrow belongs to the person who has the vision today," which was stated by Robert Schuller. Having good vision, we will bring it together with us to help promote a peaceful, happy, and healthy community.

"Vision seems to be an elusive yet import life principle. Your vision describes the ideal future for you to attain. It provides meaning and direction while forcing you to break through present limitations. Holding a clear picture in your mind of the desired future will mobilize your creative efforts and generate the desire and energy to perform," edited Glenn Ekeren in his book.*1

Vision may develop its power to direct what tommorrow will look like. Vision is having an acute sense of the possible. The thing what others can not see, it can be seen by vision. Something extraordinary will occur when those with similar visions are drawn together. The goal of John F. Kennedy set in 1060 to place a man on the moon by 1970 drew many million people's efforts in achieving the dream. John had the vision. The result is now history with reality.

"John F. Kennedy was a living example of Mitchell Kapor's belief that, 'If you can genuinely present a picture that makes sense to people, that unifies the seemingly disperate elements of their experience, if you can give people something they can resonate with because it's meaningful, then they'll be immensely responsive to it.' JFK presented that picture and America responded." *2

"On the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., three sparring Democratic Party presidential candidates were downright civil and almost unfailingly polite. Overall, that's too bad," wrote John Smith.*3 "Perhaps the biggest winners Tuesday were Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Nevada's Democratic Party, whose officials enjoyed co-sponsoring a debate that, with the exception of a couple catcalls from the audience, went off without a glitch."

In Nevada, we are the winners. With "Ingeniuty, Integrity, and dilligent work," we will keep on winning! The following are examples by the world leading search engines on Internet*4:

The campaign event and dinner party for Kenny Guinn to be the Governor of Nevada in 1998 was a big success with Dr. Tony Lei's invitation of 100 guests including business owners, community leaders, professional executives, educational administrators, and multimedia representatives. In order to advance the proclamation and creed of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI), it has also launched and participated a series of event and dinner parties for a special tribute to the people who contribute to the promotion of the quality of life of all our residents and visitors of Nevada. WBTI emphasizes the encouragement and promotion of academic research, community service, and humane spirit since its establishment in January 8, 1996. Feature articles had published by "Nevada Examiner", "Seniors United Highlights Maganzine", and among others for many times to unite all the Asian American communities for the event and party to pay a special tribute to Harry Reid as U. S. Senator and Majority Whip of the Senate initiated by WBTI. In perspective, we need to follow the above two examples of the united forces of all our Asian Americans to win the recognition by the Mainstream of our efforts and wisdom for our community involvement in Nevada. Viewing the following record, it is encouraged that we all the Asian Americans did build our "Great Wall" in this Silver State for community involvement:

Outstanding accomplishment of community involvement
By Cheryl Moss, Jessie Walsh, and Tiffany Chang

The campaign event and dinner party for Kenny Guinn to be the Governor of Nevada in 1998 was a big success with Dr. Tony Lei's invitation of 100 guests including business owners, community leaders, professional executives, educational administrators, and multimedia representatives. In order to advance the proclamation and creed of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI), it has also launched and participated a series of event and dinner parties for a special tribute to the people who contribute to the peomotion of the quality of life of all our residents and visitors of Nevada. WBTI emphasizes the encouragement and promotion of academic research, community service, and humane spirit since its establishment in January 8, 1996. Feature articles had published by "Nevada Examiner", "Seniors United Highlights Maganzine", among others for many times to unite all the Asian American communities for the event and party to pay a special tribute to Harry Reid as U.

Dear judy,

There is only one way we are going to win next Saturday: if we're all ready.

We've been working for months to get ready for Nevada's first caucus. And with only one week left to go, it's crunch time.

Hillary's stunning victory in New Hampshire gave us a real boost of momentum, but it's up to us to turn that energy into success in Nevada.

That doesn't just mean going to caucus on Saturday. It means buckling down and getting to work in the next seven days.

Help Hillary win in Nevada by joining us for Caucus Day trainings on Monday. You'll learn everything you need to know to help win in Nevada.

Click here for more information and to RSVP.

With Nevadans like you working hard for Hillary, I am confident we can succeed.

Thank you,

Robby Mook
Nevada State Director

Fantastic Reaction to "Letter to Sen. Obama"

Fantastically outpouring of support! See unsolicited and
unabridged feedback from our readers, whether positive or negative
(numbered in red), shown in the sequence of their arrivals.

Behind the statements of "I agree 100%," or "Thank you for your hard work," or disappointment with Sen. Obama is the strong yearning of Asian Ams to achieve equal opportunity and justice. I hope that Sen. Obama sees these feedback and decides to invite us into his "change."

FEEDBACK:

1) Where are you sending this letter? I have tried to contact him via
email with no success. Is there a land mail address that one must use?
Luise Heath Hamaguchi

2) Thank you very much for your continued work on behalf of all Asian Americans. In admiration, Jon Ying

3) This is a very good letter and I certainly hope he responds affirmatively. Christina

4) You did the right things, I am 100% supporting you. Thank you for your effort. I-chih Wang

5) I agreed 100%. Mansun Sy

6) Why are we pursuing someone who has spurned us? If he has not done so himself, then his organization has done so. If his organization has not done so, then it shows that his organization is so poorly
organized, it reflects on his skills as leader. Either way, UNSUITABLE as President.

No matter what he says now, it does not matter.

P.S. I received some emails from an Israeli business organization which is also angry with Obama and telling people not to vote for him. Therefore it shows that he is not just ignoring Asian Americans but also Israeli Americans. (The last 2 sentences withheld)
An Attorney at Law in Los Angeles (name was withheld by S. B.)

7) Why not send an e-mail to Obama, send it to us, so we can add our names on to make it more powerful! On the Internet, I often received letters like that. They are well written. What I need to do is just added
my name, e-mail address, and zip code. To add something to the "Comments" slot is "optional". This is just FYI. Thank you for your hard work! Bests, F.C.

8) you should post this on youtube as well so that the world can see. Senator Obama owes us an explanation. Alok Agrawal
9) Thanks for drafting this eloquent message. I look forward to Obama's response. Jonathan Lim

10) Good letter. Lets hope he sees the light. Regards, K. S. Thomas

11) Great job!!! Ed Tseng

12) great! how to reach him? what's fax number or mailing address?
Sherman Hu

13) Thank you for your efforts. Happy New Year to You !!
Prof. Helen G. F. Yu

14) Thanks for your willingness to go the extra-mile. I hope that Senator Obama's organization would provide a meaningful response. Please urge all those who are excited about Senator Obama's candidacy to write him regarding our concerns. Chung-I

15) STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO AND STOP EMAIL ME!!!
Lijun Yang, M.D.
Associate Professor
Department of Pathology, Immunology, & Laboratory Medicine
University of Florida College of Medicine
1600 SW Archer Road, Rm D6-18
P.O. Box 100275
Gainesville, FL 32610

16) I faxed the following letter to Obama to support 80-20.
"Please answer 80-20's questionnaire with all yeses. Otherwise, I'll ask all my friends and relatives to defeat your candidacy in the California Democratic Primary.
Gene Chang, Ph.D.
Sylvania OH 43560"

17) Thank you for all the work. I greatly appreciate the effort. I support the letter fully. However, I'd suggest you change the word "Black" in the letter to "African American". Thank you very much,
Xiannong Meng Lewisburg, PA 17837

18) Dear SB, It is reported that among his supporters are people from the higher educational spectrum, so I hope your "Open Letter" to Senator Barack Obama will elicit a direct, prompt and positive response!
Tim. The Rev'd Canon TIMOTHY M NAKAYAMA Retired

19) Thanks for your action! Zack Wang from New York

20) Very well crafted letter. The first setback in New Hampshire for Obama may wake him up. Bill

21) Thank you for your email. I will forward the email to the Chinese community I could get contact with as broad as possible. Thank you again for your effort for the Asian's civil rights Haifeng Wang

Yunfeng: Could you please forward this email to CSSA? Haifeng Wang

22) I just wanted to let you know your letter was extremely well written and I appreciate your earnest attempt to receive a more positive and fruitful response from Senator Obama. Nevertheless, I believe the Senator's actions speak far lounder than any response he may now conjure up. Senator Obama is a lawyer as well as a senator and so I have no doubt he can read and comprehend the questionnaire and subsequently write and communicate any problems he may have with the questionnaire. At the end of the day, he CHOSE not to reach out to 80-20 and ultimately sent the message to every Asian American in this country that he does not care about our vote and does not care about our equality. The President of this great country will have to make tough decisions every day that he or she is in office. Very rarely are there second chances. In my eyes, this is no different.
80-20 set a deadline for responses. Other candidates responsed with Yes's in affirmation of our cause, without badgering, without extension of that timeline.
I appreciate their respect for 80-20, for Asian Americans, and for equality. To that end, I sincerely hope that 80-20 will not continue to seek Senator Obama's response and will not offer promises to remain neutral because he has already demonstrated that he does not deserve my vote.

All my best in the new year,

Nicole Lee

23) Is there a website for 80-20? If so, please let me know what it is. I'd like to find out more about the organization. Thanks. DChang

24) I missed the 6 questions which were sent to all the candidates.
Please send me a copy of the questions which all candidates have been asked to reply to. Thanks. W.Y. Kato

25) Thanks for your action! Zack Wang from New York

26) We (Erie Chinese Journal) like to publish your letter to Sen. Obama on this coming issue. Would you please send your picture. It's a wonderful attitude that the Asian community is greatly involved in politics. Thank you so much! Best wishes! ECJ

27) Thanks. The ball is in his court now! Best regards, George

28) Excellent letter! Are we sending it to the media if he does not respond satisfactorily. Beverly Hong

29) I am 100% against Obama and I fully support your call for us to cast our votes away from him as long as he refuses to answer our questions to our satisfaction.

I have another reason to oppose him. Senator Clinton was doing great late last year. All of a sudden the tide turned and Obama's poll numbers took a sharp upward turn. In the Iowa caucus with the help of last minute bandwagon jumping of independents he managed a 9% edge over Hillary. Granted, Obama is a great speaker. He has the ability to deliver very touching speeches. He was riding on his CHANGE outcry. But I am afraid (from a Democrat's view point) that there is a Karl Rove or Newt Gingrich conspiracy. I imagine that either one or the other GOP brains wants to prop Obama up to knock down Hillary Clinton. They know he is on cloud nine. He is having some unstoppable momentum right now. But they are betting that by election day that momentum will fade. They are betting that many of the same independents who are so crazy about him now will change mind at the voting booth. As they will stop and ponder: "Do I really want to see this guy be our president for the next four years?"

Thanks to Bush. The Democrats are almost a sure bet to win back the White House in 2008. But if they fall into this trap and allow Obama to be their candidate (due to the GOP conspiracy and due to some unbelievable resentment or even hatred towards the Clintons), they will wake up on November 5th and find out that the GOP stole the White House one more time (they sure did it in 2000 with the help of the
Florida officials and the U. S. Supreme Court, the did it again with the speedboating and with the help of Latinos, who loved Bush for his leniency towards illegal immigrants, in 2004). If the Democrats don't learn their lessons and allow the GOP to manipulate the voters at will, they deserve it. Alas. The war in Iraq will continue. The high fiscal deficit
will continue. The massive job loss will continue. The recession will continue. The high oil price will continue. The suffering of the average middle class Americans will continue. And most of all, the unfair treatment in the work place to Asians will continue.

Obama keeps talking about CHANGE. He not only wants to change from the Bush era. He also implies that we need change from the Clinton accomplishments. What was wrong with the Clinton presidency? Who else has the ability to turn a budget deficit to a surplus in relatively short time? Can Obama do that? People in this country have a very short memory. All they care about is change. Yes. The way our current president behaves definitely needs change. The way our Congress behaves needs change. Certainly we cannot put Clinton's presidency in the same mixture. The only thing wrong with Bill Clinton is that he cannot control himself in the presence of other women. It was truly disgraceful. Other than that, I really don't see any change needed.

Kenneth Chia, Hemet, California

30) I support your draft open letter. Thank you for getting Asian Americans to involve in a meaningful way in the presidential
campaigns. Leonard Cheng

31) Sorry for the delay in responding. I have been on the road the last week. No, I did not get any response from the Obama campaign. I am glad that you send out the open letter regarding Obama's statement.
Thanks, and best, Dr. Victor C. Li

32) Why do you only support democrats? I thought you are form asian? Stephen Nip

33) This is a well-written letter, logical, intelligent and polite. If this does not engage his attention and commitment, further action from 80-20 shall be warranted. Thank you for your dedication to Asian American. Bik-Kee Vuong

34) I agree completely with the letter. David

Caucus in Nevada this Saturday
By John Kerry
[To WBTI at Tue, 15 Jan 2008 12:54:05 -0600]
Hello Friend, One of the best things about our Democratic Party is that we decide our nominations state by state, region by region -- and I can tell you, the West has never had a bigger voice in choosing our next President than Nevada will have this Saturday when you have the chance to get together with your friends and neighbors and caucus. ...
... A caucus will be held right in your neighborhood in a local school, church, or community center. Click here to find your caucus location and caucus for Barack.

If you've never caucused before, you're about to do something special. The excitement of the caucus room, where your neighbors talk about the big issues that matter to people and make important decisions for the future course of our nation, is unlike almost any other moment in our political process. It's like a town meeting from my native New England, only the meeting is to decide the next leader of our country.

So click here to find your caucus location, and please be sure to caucus on Saturday.

The eyes of the world really will be on Nevada this Saturday, January 19th at 11am, and the success of the Democratic Party can ride on your choice. The stakes couldn't be higher in Nevada: from Bush broken promises on Yucca Mountain, to the highest foreclosure rate in the nation and a 110% increase in bankruptcies in the last year -- we need real change, fundamental change, transformative change, ...

I hope you'll go out and caucus, ...

Thanks,

John Kerry

Just nine days
By Patti Solis Doyle
[To WBTI at Thu, 10 Jan 2008 13:06:15 -0500 (EST) {info@hillaryclinton.com}]
Dear judy,

Our victory in New Hampshire was nothing short of stunning, but now we are looking to Nevada to solidify our new energy and momentum.

We've only got nine days left until the January 19 caucus, and we are making the final decisions on our campaign strategy in Nevada.

One thing is perfectly clear as we make our plans: we need your help making calls, knocking on doors, and doing everything you can to help us succeed on Caucus Day.

Today Hillary is on the ground in Nevada doing what she does best: working hard to win. But she can't do it alone. We need Nevadans like you every day between now and the caucus.

Will you commit today to help Hillary win the nomination?

New Hampshire taught us one thing: ground game matters, and we're relying on you to help us get it done.

Thank you for everything,

Dear judy,

After my humbling victory in New Hampshire last Tuesday, I said that New Hampshire had helped me find my voice.*1

Volunteers across the state and the country made their voices heard when they worked hard getting voters to the polls. Thousands of people put in hours making phone calls and knocking on doors -- all to help make a real difference in people's lives.

That's how we won.

Now we have less than a week to repeat our success in Nevada. We need to reach out to caucus-goers, and I can't do it without you.

Help make a difference in Nevada by signing up to volunteer.

Now's your chance to use your voice. We're going to knock on doors, make phone calls, and do whatever it takes to get our message out over the next five days.

You won't be alone. Hundreds of volunteers will join you, and together, you'll reach thousands of voters before Caucus Day, January 19. We are going to tap into the talent, spirit, and grit of our supporters, and we're going to change America.

Your efforts helped us win in New Hampshire, and you can help me win in Nevada.

Get started today and volunteer.

Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work!*3

Sincerely,

(Autograph)
Hillary Rodham Clinton

About U.

GOVERNOR GIBBONS ANNOUNCES APPROVAL OF FEDERAL ASSISTANCE
PPAA wbti: President Dr. Tony Lei has appointed Assemblywoman Valerie Weber Vice President of the Clark County District Attorney and Police Civil Commission of WBTI!
By Office of the Governor (NV), Melissa Subbotin, and Jennifer Kung

**--**

Governor Jim Gibbons announced today that the President approved his request for a major disaster declaration for Lyon County . This declaration provides federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe winter storms and flooding beginning on January 5, 2008.*1

揟his federal funding will begin providing immediate assistance to Fernley residents whose homes sustained damage during the flood, said Governor Jim Gibbons. 揑 thank President Bush and FEMA for their partnership in our efforts to address the needs of Fernley residents impacted by the recent flood and for their prompt response to the state抯 request for a major disaster declaration.

{{{ "Through the recommendations of Nevada Supreme Court Justice, Michael Douglas, Nevada District Court Judge, Jessie Walsh, Clark County Sheriff, Bill Young, and Nevada District Court Judge, Cheryl Moss, WBTI President, Dr. Tony Lei, recently appointed Assemblywoman Valerie Weber Vice President of the Clark County District Attorney and Police Civil Commission of the Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) on July 17, 2006. Ms. Weber was selected to fill this position which was previously held by Nevada State Controller, Kathy Augustine, following Kathy's untimely passing away on July 11, 2006." Dr. John Wang, Spokesperson for WBTI, Las Vegas, Nevada, U. S. A., made the announcement on Tuessday, July 18, 2006.

"George Eliot said that those who trust us, educate us. To have Dr. Tony Lei's trust is my great honor. I believe in his philosophy of education and leadership. The design and plan of CCADPCC are creative. It is now time for us to realize the mission of this important organization for assuring the existence and future of Clark County," said Assemblywoman Weber shortly after being informed of the new appointment by WBTI. }}} *2

Specifically, this action provides public assistance for damaged infrastructure (including buildings and roads), individual assistance for those who are underinsured or without any insurance, and assistance for state hazard mitigation.

Individual assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the losses incurred by the recent flooding.

揑 have spoken with many displaced residents who are concerned because they do not have insurance coverage to provide the funds needed to repair the damage to their homes. I am pleased to announce that those residents will receive the assistance they need to repair damage sustained during the flood, Governor Gibbons added.

Federal funding is also available to State and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations for repair or replacement of damaged infrastructure.

The Presidential disaster declaration will also provide funding for statewide hazard mitigation measures. This will allow the state to expand on current prevention and preparedness practices.

揂s we recover from the severe winter storms and devastating flood in Fernley, the State of Nevada Department of Emergency Management continues to bolster prevention and preparedness efforts to ensure that we stand ready for any future emergency incidents, Governor Gibbons concluded.*3

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) stated that the residents and business owners who sustained losses within Lyon County can begin applying for assistance tomorrow by registering online at http://www.fema.gov or by calling 1-800... (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (local time).*4

Make big plans, aim high in hope and work.' We believe that students (or alumnus) ought to begin with a commitment to outstanding academics. But there are other elements that are also important. Students (and alumnus) need a heart for excellence and a soul that makes big plans and aims high. In addition, without a foundation of ethics, character, and faith, we believe true success is impossible. We hope you are among those who want to soar beyond mediocrity and reach for the magic that will 'stir men's blood,'" stated President Dr. Andrew K. Benton of Pepperdine University.*7
