Dear Dr. Lei,

Thank you for your reply and our associates in Asia are government owned education centers, universities and colleges. The potential students are from government and business entities. Those are overseas degree programs, they do not have to come to USA and get the EMBA, or EDBA degree. There are many USA universities have the similar programs in China and Asian countries.

In the mean time, we have a group from Shenyang City government, China, they are the group with 20 people, they like to have a EPMA degree program in USA for one year. Please quote the tuition, student insurance, books , room and board, many thanks.

Sincerely,

Walter

Dear Dr. Lei,

Thanks for your emailed. It is a very nice writing. I really appreciate your great effort of putting this draft together (along with the whole Las Vegas teamwork).

Using blue color words, we have altered a few places of the wording you put together for Nevada Governor to receive. (Please see your text below including our altered portions.) Really no offense to you, honestly. These are just a reference or brainstorming for your consideration before shaping up the official version. Hopefully, your email will be able to reflect the difference in the text color.
(By the way, we did not change any part of the rest of your attached writings).

Thanks a lot again.

Best Regards,
Wendy And Morris Wu

> The Second 27th Director and Advisory Boards Meeting of Taiwan Benevolent Association of America (TBAA) was held by its president Wendy Wu successfully on April 23, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. With her distinguished leadership and outstanding talents, Wendy Wu is widely known as a teacher, advisor, social service volunteer, business person, and community leader with a series of venues to contribute to our people, community, businesses, government, and nation. In her service as the chairperson of the 26th Taiwan Benevolent Association of America Conference / Convention in 2003 (held at San Jose, California), her superb managerial skills and experience had orchestrated one of the most successful nation-wide conventions / parties in recent years. In addition, Mrs. Wu is also a well-respected contributor in another non-profit organization, which is known being one of the largest Asian American service groups, serving as the 17th president, Taiwanese American Chamber of Commerce - North California (TACC-NC). In her service in the TACC-NC, she has broken the organization's record of making donations to both local and world-wide charity organizations, in both the number of benefited charity organizations and the total monetary value.

Very soon, Mrs. Wendy Wu is going to complete her term as President of the Taiwan Benevolent Association of America (TBAA) on July 30, 2005. Out of the excellent experience, knowledge, enthusiasm, and professionalism of Mrs. Wu, she has elevated the TBAA to a new height in terms of its fame, quality and significance among many American Chinese and Asian American institutions in this country.

Now, TBAA is scheduled to hold its profound 28th Annual Conference throughout the July 29-30 weekend (2005) in Las Vegas, Nevada. In light of President Wu's efforts and unselfish spirit in promoting cross-culture understanding and mutual respect for diversified interests rising from a variety of the communities, she has already become a real dynamic force and role model in the common pursuit of improving quality of life for our society. ***.......................

Hi Dr Lei:

I attached a copy of a short biography for you.

Both resolutions will be mailed to you along with remarks made in the Senate regarding a long time friendship between Nevada and Taiwan. I am so pleased to have presented this to the Director General, Mr Mark Liao

Your continued work with the WBTI is to be commended; I was so pleased I was present on April 24, 2005, when the Clark County Commission recognized you and your work in a special proclamation (presented by Commissioner Lynette McDonald to Dr. Tony Lei on the Induction Ball of AARCN-CC at April 24, 2004 in Las Vegas). It is well deserved.

Thank you for our friendship and continued mutual economic interests in the state of Nevada.

Assembly Concurrent Resolution 25
Presented by Valerie E Weber
Clark County District 5
April 28, 2005

Taiwan and its people hold a special place in my heart.

I was invited like so many (at least 20 over the years) from both of our houses in the Legislature and from the Executive branch to visit Taiwan. In October 2003, I was part of an eight member delegation lead by our colleague from District 41.

Before our plane left for those long hours in the air, we were met at the San Francisco Airport by our hosts from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in SF who made our arrangements.
Our seven day journey included meeting with high ranking officials in the Executive Yuan including the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Mainland Affairs. We met with the Vice-President, Mrs Annette Lu (who is Harvard educated). We heard an address by President Chen at the annual Double 10 celebration along with viewing its fabulous pageantry; we even visited the Legislative Yuan and watched a debate on the floor.

On the cultural side, we toured Taipei, Taiwans capital city on this miracle green island of 23M citizens; we were treated to a plane trip to Haulien, known for its gorgeous marble and visited the breathtaking Taroko Gorge, one of their many national parks.

Our hosts in Taipei, including Charlyne Chen from the NV Economic Development office located in the Taipai World Trade Center arranged for us to meet with businessmen and women to discuss various issues business issues, to tour a state-of-the-art software park, and to explore the Taipai World Trade Center; it was non stop, action packed and we ate until we couldnt breathe! The entire trip was first class.

In summary, I am grateful for these new friends I made while visiting Taiwan, Republic of China and their love of democracy, prosperity and peace. Some day I hope to return to see continuation of their economic development and see other beautiful parts of the island including a tour of the gorgeous Penghu Islands on the west side of Taiwan.
I urge my colleagues support of this resolution.

Mr Speaker, may I present to our house at this time to receive these resolutions our very special guests, the new incoming Director General, Mr Mark Liao and Consular Officer, Ms Jenny Kuo. Please accept these resolutions in appreciation of our thanks and for a long continuing friendship. Please feel welcomed in our house.

The following is a part of the article written for Senator Harry Reid being awarded "Outstanding Democrat of the Decade," by Tiffany Chang.*6

On October 22, 2000, U. S. Senator Harry Reid received the "Outstanding Democrat of the Decade" 1990's Award from the Paradise Democratic Club of Las Vegas (PDCLV) at the Skyview Room of the Bally's Casino and Hotel, Las Vegas. In the Program, the National Anthem was sung by Rose McKinny James. The Event was chaired by the President of PDCLV, John Ponticello. He introduced participants of all the elected officers, leaders of unions, persons campaigned for public service, among others. The Keynote Speaker was Senator Harry Reid. Special Speakers were former U. S. Senator Richard Bryan, U. S. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, among others. Comments were offered by Rory Reid, Nevada State Democratic Party Chairman, and Danny Thompson, Secretary/Treasurer of Nevada State AFL-CIO.

The heightlight of the Event was the presentation of the Outstanding Democrat of the Decade Award to U.S. Senator Harry Reid by the President of PDCLV, John Ponticello. U. S. Senator Reid graduated from Utah State University in 1961. He received Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University. On April 10, 1998, he was honored as Advisor and Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI).*7

Harry Reid was born in the mining town of Serchlight, Nevada where he was raised in a small cabin without indoor plumbing. He attended a two-room elementary school. His father was a hard rock miner with an 6th grade education. His mother helped the family make ends meet by taking in laundry.*8

Serchlight had no high school, so he had to attend Basic High School in Henderson where he met Landra Gould, who became his high-school sweetheart. In 1959 they were married. In 1961, their first child and only daughter Lana was born. Son Rory was born in 1962, and three more brothers followed -
Leif, Josh, and Key. Basic High was also where Reid met a teacher named Mike O'Callaghan who would play many roled in his life: teacher, boxing coach, political mentor, trusted advisor and best friend.

After completing law school, Harry returned to Henderson to serve as City Attorney. In 1968, he was elected to the Nevada Assembly, 1970 Harry was elected Lieutenant Governor. In 1977, he was appointed Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission. In 1983, he won the first of two terms in the United States House of Representatives.

He was elected to the Senate in 1986. In 1998, Harry was elected to his third term as US Senator and his colleagues selected him as Assistant Democratic Leader - the second highest post among Democrats in the Senate.

After he won a fourth term in 2004 by a wide margin, he was unanimously elected Senate Democratic Leader. This position, combined with his reputation for integrity and fairness, has given the small state of Nevada a uniquely influential voice in Washington. Harry Reid isn't afraid to speak his mind - but he isn't afraid to listen, either. Like the desert country that formed him, he doesn't cry out for attention. He's soft spoken-but when hw talks, people listen. He has earned the trust of both Democrats and Republicans, and his reputation for integrity and fairness has given the small state of Nevada a powerful voice in Congress.*9

Jessie Walsh led the court with the highest number of days in civil jury trials
By Bill Young; Cheryl Moss, Mark Denton, and Tiffany Chang

"Hello Dr. Lei: I just wanted to thank you for including Judge Walsh and myself in such a beautiful evening. I was quite happy to be there to witness you receive the recognition you deserve. Thank you again for including us and please accept my best regards to you and your wife," said Jeri Winter, Judicial Exec. Assistant to Judge Jessie Walsh, Dept. 10.*1 Judge Jessie Walsh attended the Induction Ball held by Asian American Republican Coalition of Nevada-CC on April 24, 2005 in Las Vegas. She was honored as a Special Guest of the Dinner and Party. She was accompanied with her Judicial Exec. Assistant Jerri Winter and Courtroom Deputy Matt Diamond.

During the Event, Dr. Tony Lei received a Proclamation of the Board of County Commissioners of Clark County. It was presented to him by Commissioner Lynette McDonald on the Event and Dinner Party after she delivered her kenote speech.

Judge Jessie Walsh has been honored Associate Executive Director of Pan Pacific and Asian American Forum (PPAAF) by Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) on January 16, 2002.*2

Jessie graduate from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1992. She ran unopposed in 2001 to retain her seat in Las Vegas Municipal Court. By unanimous vote, the Mayor and City Council appointed Judge Walsh to fill a vacancy in October 1999.
Active in her profession and community, she is an elected member of the Judicial Council of the State of Nevada. She is also an Advisory Board Member of the Police Athletic League. Jessie is a member of the Southern Nevada Association of Woman Attorneys, and is the conservation chairperson for the Daughters of the American Revoluntion. In 1999, she was recognized by the Clark County Bar Association for her hard work and dedication to the Trial By Peers program.
At the dinner event and party for Mayor Goodman by the Asian American Community closing to the end of 2000, Jessie was a special guest invited by Dr. Tony Lei accompanied by Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court Honorable Nancy Becker. She was clever to share some significant acquaintanceship on both the philosophic and methodological skills in modern administration with him sitting together on the main table during the dinner.*3

Winning the election without any opponent, Judge Jessie Walsh*4 is now on her second term of her position in the Las Vegas Municipal Court. She wrote Dr. Tony Lei on February 7, 2001: "Thank you for the lovely congratulatory letter. I am fortunate and honored to have the support of people like you." At the same time, she told him that because of the enormous support and confidence she had received from him and the citizens of Las Vegas, she is honored to serve in this capacity and is dedicated to administer justice in a fair and expeditious fashion.

In May 2001, she was appointed Associate Fellow of Public Administration Institution (PAI) of WBTI. As a bright and future star in Juridical and administrative study, she is leading a group of intellectuals to enhance Dr. Tony Lei's scholarly belief that "Our knowledge, wisdom, and professionalism are all achieved by our sincere love to God!"

"I agree with District Judge Valorie Vega's idea to be honored as a Fellow of the Public Administration of Washington Business and Technology Institute. She said that, 'It will undoubtedly provide me with avenues for exploring improvements in public services to which I am most dedicated,'" said Jessie Walsh. "I'm glad also to share the similar position as one of its faculty member. It's significant, as Dr. Tony Lei told me that for community service--- that based on 'love in action is service above self'--- the abundant reward from one's humune love, spiritual excellence, and professionalism of expert are far more greater than solely her or his title."*5

Intellectuals are encouraged to attend a dinner party for Brian Sandoval, Bill Young, and David Roger by the Asian American Community. LET'S GO FORWARD AND HAVE FUN ON SUNDAY AND SALUTE ALL OF YOU WHO WORK SO HARD TO PUT THIS EVENT TOGETHER.

CHEERS,

DOLLY DE LEON

---------------------------------------------
As we have all spend a lots of time to discuss and to try to understand the messages from Elena's email. I mentioned to most of you I will try to send her a response and copy you on it. I intended to write a short and congenial one, but after I learned that she called and bashed and threaten Jas again this evening, I added more, and now it's a long one, hope it won't bore you, I promise this will be the last long ones! And please forgive the "repeats", and grammars & spellings, I am pretty exhausted from all these time wasting debates and clarifications. But, it may serve some future references when this conflict becomes a State or County Party issue. So bear with me! And, thank you for your patience and support of the GROUP GOAL.!

Thanks for your email. I would like to offer the following to help put the current status of the Induction Program into a more positive perspective.

RE: FAMILY AFFAIR: It does appear in the program that the "Kerns" name was repeated through out the program. But, this is the result of 6 meetings (all members were invited) dedicated to the gala and the program based on the group discussion and roles "volunteered" by various members attended the meetings. Mrs. Kerns volunteered to be the Chairwoman for the Special Event Committee during the first meeting on 1/16/05 with no OBJECTION from the floor. She made a generous offer of her granddaughter to sing the National Anthem (nobody offered a 2nd choice). The fact the group decided to invite Judge Kerns to speak was to help to recognize the only Asian Republican Judge being Re-Elected in this town and to celebrate his victory as a "ROLE MODEL" for the Asian American Republicans (there may be other underline political issues that this group is not aware of). In this case, it is only a coincidence that the "Kerns" name was mentioned more than once. But, bear in mind, if any member had proposed a more accomplished Asian American Politicians for this group to honor at this particular moment, there would have no objection or argument about it. Gene Gamboa was at the meeting yesterday and reconfirmed that he"Will" be the Master of Ceremony (which was discussed, approved by all the members at the meeting & accepted by Gene on 3/12/05).

RE: Recognizing VIPs- this was part of discussion during yesterday's meeting. You should be recognized as many others.

RE: COHESIVENESS: There may be a few members have not attend the meetings. But, the meetings (on 2/27, 3/6, 3/12, 3/31, 4/9, 4/18) had been conducted according to by-law and Roberts' rule as closely as this young (4 months old) organization is capable of performing. The results may not be perfect or ideal, but, since I have been to all of them (except one on 3/6/05), I can safely said that Jas Brooks took her responsibility as an "ELECTED" President for this group very effectively and conducted meetings in a very business like manner. She does not conduct group meeting with favoritism nor special attention to certain member with certain personal agenda. It has not been easy for her and the group to spend so much time on the Induction Ball with only a few members (who take this group & it's mission statement seriously). Personally, I have always voiced my desire to set "Team Building" as the top priority rather than put on a high profiled event hastily. Nevertheless, I followed the majority and put in as much time as most everyone else to help get the event ready. Even though I will not be in town for the gala, I still help sold 22 tickets to my friends. They all are prospective members if this "Gala" can go on without further bomb throwing.

Six months ago you came in town assembled a hand full of Asian Republican Volunteers (myself included) where very few of us know each other well. Since this is a political group (from different Asian cultures) on a volunteer basis, it was difficult for most of the members (yourself included! Remember the debates we had in which Jacquie & I alerted you that you need to take time to build this coalition carefully) to recognize that it would "REQUIRE" a lots of time to get to know each other and their cultures. Now there is a difference in defining "Cohesiveness" between the members who attended most or all meetings and the members who did not attend most of the meetings. From the frequent meetings we had recently, the current group have grown to know each other better and getting more comfortable in discussing issues and making decisions together, this can be evidenced by meeting minutes in which this group has been working together towards our mission statement No. 1-To promote integration of "different" Asian American into a single, cohesive, strong and vibrant political entity to enable us to play an effective role in mainstream politics. On this issue, frankly I am perplexed in your "DISPLEASURE" of the progress this group is making. Are we being too "INDEPENDENT"? If you will, kindly define what you mean by "Not Cohesive" It may help if you would review all the Minutes of Meeting and then give us your "Constructive" advises from the point of Mission Statement and the "By-Law"!

You asked us to let you know what went wrong, this may be it, we simply don't understand to which or what information you are based on to describe this hardworking group as "NOT COHESIVE"! It is not based on facts and records, it unfortunately is based on hear says and twisted perceptions, it shows no regards to the future growth of this organization. We do not understand nor can accept the intent of this accusation. I sincerely hope that you are smart enough not to be manipulated by some disgruntle members, these members have not really contributed much, yet is bitter about the lack of attention to them on the individual basis. THIS IS NOT A SOCIAL CLUB, IT IS A SERIOUS POLITICAL GRASS ROOT COALITION. One must show their commitment from actions, not double talks. There is a strong indication that some of the member simply not comfortable with a NO-NONSENSE TEAM concept, thus there is a sever "identity crisis". If you are aiding and encouraging this kind of behavior, I am afraid your leadership will be going down with them. For I am quite confident that this group now is COHESIVE (and legitimate) enough to go on (with or without some of the members) to achieve the great causes that motivated most of us originally. I must remind you that I (and most of the members) will only dedicate our loyalty to the great cause and the traditional value that GOP shares. If you are in agreement with this, let us work together. If not, let us part company gracefully without "LOSING FACE" for Asian American community.

To sum it up, it is understandable that you as a founder of AARCN felt somewhat out of touch with this new group lately. It is not by anyone's design or wish, but due to the geographic distance, as well, the planning of the details of the Induction Gala moved very fast. It would not have taken this much time if Jas did not feel the need to include the inputs from every member who care enough to come to the meeting. Once again, the program may have flaws, but it is the first challenge for the group to function as a team. And the team was not quite ready by any means when the gala idea was presented by you in January right after the election. Yet everyone is working hard to make it happen, as well, making it as successful as possible. If you are truly a leader, you should be proud and overjoyed by the impressive fundraising job Hui Lim did, yet, all you can think of was that you are being left out! How sad! Don't you agree that Hui Lim should also deserve 3 minutes of glory for someone chose not to take a title from the very beginning. Where is your leadership? Where is the team spirit?

Let's look beyond the Gala, when this "TEAM" can spend time to focusing on building a larger and stronger group, and, to develop a very close working relationship with the Republican Party to advance all the agendas listed in the Mission Statement for the Asian American Republican who lives and works in this ever-growing community. And, if you still have problem with the way we are going, you may like to make a choice to disassociate with this group and start another group that will suit you better. But, in the name of Asian Community, the gala should go on without further conflicts.

Sincerely,

Julie

Hi guys,

IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION REGARDING THE ORDER OF YOUR PROGRAM. IT LOOKS OKAY BUT IT LOOK LIKE A "FAMILY" AFFAIR, DUE TO A LAST NAME APPEARING THREE TIMES IN THE PROGRAM. I WOULD APPEAL TO YOU TO CHANGE ONE Or TWO THINGS HERE. I AM SURE YOU WANT TO LOOK IMPARTIAL TO COMMUNITY WE SERVE AND THEREFORE, WE NEED TO GIVE AS MUCH APPEARANCE AS IMPARTIAL. PLEASE BE APOLOGETIC AS YOU APPROACH MRS. K ON THIS. SHE IS THE SENSITIVE ONE. I do not like paying and attending a program for a family affair. We have many qualified pastors, members of the party that have done so much, campaigning hard in last years elections - Give them the honor to pray or be in the program. We have great Asian Americans in this state. We should be inclusive and a team player with the Republican Party of NV. We are a coalition group and we have an agenda. We have many dignitaries that are coming to this affair, include in your program a time to be introduced or recognized.

To also let you know, I have worked many hours and spent thousands of dollars to bring us to where we are right now. Ask me where we are as a coalition and I will let you know and better yet why don't you give me three minutes to speak at your event. Not that I want to glory but it shows our "cohesiveness" that we all talk about all the time. If this is too much to ask then please let me know where I have gone wrong. Call me please. Here are my numbers: home: (775) 825-3967or 3972; Cell: (775) 750-0902; Toll free: (888) 875-3073.

April 24, 2005 events by AARCN-CC will further unify our Asian American Community
By Dr. Jasmine Brooks

AARCN and NAARC Members:

This will serve as a formal notice that AARCN Clark County (AARCN CC) Induction Ball will be held at Wellington Place (formerly known as La Chateaux), located at 6985 W. Sahara Ave; LV, NV 89117 on April 24, 2005. Event will begin promptly at 5:30pm, all AARCN CC Executive Board and planning committee members should arrive no later than 4:30pm.

Regarding the NAARCs Leadership Conference, the following is a brief summarization and update:
During March 27, 2005 teleconference, a motion to have the National Leadership Conference at Wellington Place on April 24, 2005 at the same location as AARCN CC Induction Ball, was brought to the floor and received unanimous decision by NAARCs officers and members. However, just recently, there have been new recommendations to have the conference at a different location, which is to be hosted by the very competent Dolly Deleon and congenial Tess Smith.

Subsequent to my conversation with Dr. Carlota, and Tess Smith on April 15 and 16, 2005; I then brought this matter to the AARCN CC Executive Board. Due to the time constrains, with Induction Ball only a week away, the Board felt quite uncomfortable with the continuous changes in venue. Therefore the AARCN CC Executive Boards decision is to withdraw from the planning and execution of the National Leadership Conference. AARCN CC will assume an impartial role in this matter.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, AARCN CC will maintain its support, and assist in the implementation of the National Leadership Conference.

We will now cancel all plans in progress regarding the National Leadership Conference schedule and extradite its preparation in total to Mrs. Dolly Deleon and Tess Smith, who have been extremely gracious in its commencement.

The AARCN CC is very excited for the up coming events with NAARC. The Leadership Conference will be a success with Dolly Deleon and Tess Smith at the helm. Concurrently, the AARCN CC Induction Ball (Co-Chaired by Vivian Kerns and Tess Smith @ the Event Planning Committee) will also achieve significant success.

April 24, 2005 events will further unify our Asian American Community. I look forward to seeing everyone there. Should you have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact me.

Cordially,

Dr. Jas Brooks
