As a born-again Christian, people have been inspired by his sincererity, humbleness, and credibility much more than just his wealthy and handsome appearance now. On October 15, John attended the worship service of the Liberty Baptist Church. He offered a short speech of testifmony. He said that he was very frustrated with his first taste of political failure, when he lost by a mere 428 votes to U. S. Senator Harry Reid. However, he believes God and has surrendered his fate to God. John's faith in God helped him to overcome his frustration and disappointment and enabled him to continue to strive to succeed. The Bible says that, "...though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed (1 Peter 1:6-7)". If a window was closed, God might re-open the window or even open a different door for those who are eager to utilize his or her knowledge and expertise to serve. On a previous Sunday, Mr. David Whitney prayed, announced news, and introduced Mr. John Lei to present the Togo Mission through video. John spoke that, "Enthusiastic responses were shown by the people of the several villages that we visited. In one of them, we had more than thirty of them baptized. During the trip, we hsd more than 40 of them surrendered to believe God. The whole mission was very blessed. They were so joyful. Praise God! God worked with us during the mission through our glorification in His name." The video and presentation were very nice.
