Dr. Tony Lei extended his welcome and expection of the Lee Kuang Yao Public Administration Institute to launch a EMPA program with UNLV and GSBPA of WBTI in the near future.
The following is an e-mail to Dr. Tony Lei from President Jonathan Galaviz on August 16, 2004: Dear Tony, The Las Vegas, Nevada celebration of Singapore's National Day on August 14, 2004 (organized by the Singapore Association of Nevada) was a great success. We had over 65 guests; many Americans attended and showed their support for the further development of economic and political relations between the State of Nevada and the Republic of Singapore. The Honorable Mr. Jai S. Sohan, the Consul-General of Singapore (San Francisco Mission), was the guest-of-honor and gave a wonderful speech outlining his agenda for substantial increases in economic and cultural ties between Nevada and Singapore.*2
I would like to thank the Singaporeans who worked so hard on August 14th to ensure that a favorable impression of Singapore was presented to guests and governmental officials on our celebration of Singapore's 39th National Day. In addition, I would like to thank the governmental representatives and political candidates that attended the event and who showed their support of Singapore.
Local U.S. federal governmental representatives presented the Consul-General with congressional certificates to honor Singapore's 39th National Day. In addition, the Governor of Nevada (The Honorable Kenny Guinn) issued an official state proclamation honoring Singapore on it's 39th National Day and expressed the value that Nevada places in its developing relationship with Singapore ........ Again, thank you for your support of SAN and we look forward to positive developments between the State of Nevada and the Republic of Singapore in 2004-2005.*3
