Lei of WBTI," said Attorney Tyrrell. "WBTI has built a sound foundation with its excellent and achieved faculty members. stration Institution," said Justice of the SupremeCourt Nancy Becker.
"The Institution's activities and reputation already have earned local and national applause and attention," said Deputy Attorney General of Nevada Ann Zimmerman. "It was Tony and Dr. Thompson who conceptualized its mission as an outreach network to the wider public administration community, and we look forward to establishing this lasting and advancing accomplishment to their foresight and leadership."
"PAI is exploring such themes as computer and quantitative analysis for administration, seniors power by voting, economic renewal, educational technology, elder abuse, social security and Medicare, and the important relationship between faith and public policy," Dr. Tony T. Lei noted. "We have worked to provide a setting of ideas in which the principles and perspective of the program come into contact with leading issues of the day in order to improve the quality of life of all our Nevadans and visitors."
Elder Law Attorney Natalie Tyrrell was very happy during the dinner party that she was invited by Dr. and Mrs. Tony T. Lei at the Center Stage Restaurant of Plaza Hotel in celebration of her appointment by WBTI as an Associate Fellow of PAI (6/01) and her birthday (6/20) on June 12, 2000.
On the first table of the Center Stage, Natalie was cleaver, judgmatic, pleased, and thankful. Just like last time for Justice of the Supreme Court Nancy Becker, the waiters formed a large team with canddled cake and joined President and Mrs. Tony T. Lei in singing happy birthday song for their new faculty member Attorney Tyrrell. Once again like last time for Justice Becker, thunders of applause brought a climax of the evening at the sky room of Center Stage Restaurant.

LVRJ/wbti: WBTI encourages a life of service!
by Tiffany Chang

Public Administration Institution (PAI) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) was established on January 18, 2000 based on the following reasons: (1) To upgrade the quality of the public services through academic research and experiental practice. (2) To promote the knowledge, technical application, and science of the executive public administration. (3) To upgrade the talents and skills for the Nevadan public administration practicians on the background with modern management and educational technology. "Even with the constancy of his presidential responsibilities, Dr. Tony T. Lei carved out time and energy during the past three years with wisdom and knowledge through the cooperation of Dr. William Thompson to create the blueprint for the institution that ultimately paved the way for the 2000 opening of our PAI," said Jusitce of the Supreme Court Nancy Becker.
The first Director of PAI, Dr. William Thompson, who is the chair and professor of the Department of Public Administration of UNLV, has numerous academic publications with excellent teaching and administrative qualifications. His leadership in this Institution since January 18, 2000 has been applauded by both the political and educational professionals. On March 3, 2000, Emeritus Professor Dr. Roy Adamson of the famous Pepperdine University in California joined the Institution as a Fellow. His experiences as a superintendent in Southern California and an Associate Dean of USC and CSU have been a good background for him to merge for an orientation with both of academic research and executive administration for PAI. Justice of the Supreme Court Nancy Becker has also felt the honor to be a Fellow of PAI since her appointment by WBTI on May 2, 2000. With Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University National Law Center, she was an outstanding District Judge for ten years. She received numerous awardsfor her accomplishment and social service. Herexcellent ex-pertise and professional integrity have added a valuable asset to PAI.
"It is indeed an honor for me to become a Fellow of PAI. This position will undoubtedly provide me with new avenues for exploring improvements in public services to which I am most dedicated. I look forward to working together with Dr. Lei in these endeavors," said District Judge Valorie Vega.
The value of an academic institute should also put an eye on community service aside from its academic research. Take only one example, for the positive effort of the research and promotion of the seniors benefit, the Institute has done sizable works and received valuable results. Associate Fellow of WBTI, Elder Rights Attorney Besty Kolkoski of the Nevada Division for Aging Services (NDAS), with Juris Doctor degree of University of Cincinnati College of Law held the Forth Anniversary Meeting of the Nevada Elder Abuse Prevention Council (NEAPC) as Co-Chairpersons with Nevada Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa. She did a research paper on elder abuse prevention through quantitative methodology. Both of them have received a fruitful consequence on the prevention of elder abuse with their cooperation of the NDAS and the Office of the Nevada Attorney General. Associate Fellow Sheri Vogel of PAI, a Juris Doctor degree holder of Detroit College of Law, Detroit, Michigan, has been the Project Administrator of the City of Las Vegas Senior Citizens Law Project since 1986. Sheri has obligatory assisted to and solved the concrete benefits and difficulties of seniors for many thousand cases. Her effort to help Las Vegas Seniors has won a lot of applauses. The President of WBTI, Dr. Tony T. Lei, has been a member of the Las Vegas Senior Citizens' Advisory Board. The Institute (WBTI) President Dr. Tony T. Lei, elected as Executive Vice President of Seniors United recently, has been supported both by the educational and political sectors to get advance in leading the research and promotion of the seniors benefit, social security, and Medicare.
"WBTI is a very well respected and integral part of this community. To be an Associate Fellow of PAI is a very prestigious honor for me. I am also grateful to be joining such a distinguished panel of professionals who are committed to improving the lives of our citizens in this community," said Deputy Attorney General of Nevada Ann Zimmerman.
By the leadership of the Chairman of Board of Chinese American Academic Association of Nevada Dr. Tony T. Lei with a group of achieved scholars, WBTI has been founded since January 8, 1996. Dr. Kenny Guinn, Governor of Nevada is Chairman of the Advisory Board.

Friend --

President Obama made a surprise visit to the campaign office in Chicago yesterday to give a heartfelt thank-you to staff and volunteers.

I wanted to pass this video along, ...

http://my.barackobama.com/Thank-You

In his speech on Election Night,
"The best campaign team and volunteers in the history of politics."
...
Last year, a major American newspaper asked, "Is Obama toast?" As recently as two weeks ago, another ran this headline: "Can Obama win?"

Tuesday night, ... YES WE CAN. By knocking on doors, organizing phone banks, and chipping in a few bucks when you could, you built a campaign that is unparalleled. And you re-elected our president.

You also proved that millions of ordinary people taking ownership of a cause is still the most powerful force in our political process. You showed that grassroots organizing and small donations are not only the right way to win, but also the most effective way.

How we got here must guide where we go. If we're going to accomplish the things America voted for on Tuesday, you've got to be even more involved in getting them done than you were in giving us all the chance.

We'll be in touch soon about how we can get started on some of the President's top priorities in his second term.

For now, I just want to say I am so proud of this team. And I can't wait to see where you take this incredible movement from here.

Thank you -- more to come,

Messina

Dear Tony,

I am so humbled by our 2-1 victory Tuesday night in Nevada’s 1st Congressional District. I can never thank you enough for supporting me as I worked to return to Congress, and I will never forget all you did to make it happen.

Throughout our yearlong campaign you stood by my side as we fought for our shared values. I am excited to be returning to a House of Representatives that will be the most diverse in history. I am also looking forward to serving with outstanding individuals from around the country, many of whom I was able to support in their campaigns because of you.

As we look ahead, I am optimistic about what the future holds for Nevada and for our country. Please know that you can call on me anytime.

Thank you,

Dina

LVRJ/wbti: Meet WBTI Fellow Dina Titus!
by Cheryl Moss and Tiffany Chang

*****"Our greastest asset at Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) is our people -- not facades or fountains, not landscapes or lakescapes, but people -- faculty, advisory board members, administration, and a host of friends," said President Dr. Tony Lei of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI). "On the publications of WBTI through multimedia locally, nationally, and internationally, we have featured many of our own: U. S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, U. S. Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign, U. S. Representatives James Gibbons and Shelley Berkley, Governor of Nevada Kenny Guinn, Pepperdine University President Dr. Andrew Benton, Chief Federal Judge Lloyed Geroge, Pepperdine University Chancellor Dr. Charles Runnels, Former Chief Justice and now Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court William Maupin, Dr. William Thompson, Dr. Lee Bernick, Dr. Keong Leong, Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, among others."

"Enriching our research and community service process were made possible by these friends who joined and supported this academic institute. WBTI is really a chain of dedicated individuals, intellectuals, and professionals who join to research, serve, support and to give. We take great pride of our people, including our outstanding faculty members. They are some of the best in the world. We are sincere servers to help improve the quality of life of all the residents and visitors of Nevada."

Nevada State Senator Dina Titus was appointed by Washington Business and Technology Institute as a Fellow of its Public Administration Institution (PAI) on August 15, 2001. She was very pleased to receive the congratulations call from Dr. Tony Lei early that morning. Having out of town for a couple of days, the call reminded her that at the suggestion of U. S. Senator Harry Reid, former Las Vegas Mayor Jan Jones had offered to step down as Nevada's Democatic National Committeewoman, and Dina Titus would seek that job. This would give her some Washington, D. C., connections and enhance her political profile. With four trips a year to Washington, D. C., the committeewoman and committeeman from each state are expected to speak on party issues, raise money, and help recruit candidates.

"It's really my honor to be a Fellow of the Public Administration Institution of Washington Business and Technology Institute," said Senator Dina Titus to the readers of "Nevada Examiner" and Las Vegas Review-Journal.com. "I'm also honor to be invited by Dr. Tony Lei as a Special Guest to the Event and Dinner Party for a Special Tribute to U. S. Senator Harry Reid on August 24, 2001," she continued.*2 Dina Titus brought her husband Dr. Wright to attend the Party at the Asia Palace Chinese Restaurant on the Friday evening. Dr. Wright is a Senior Professor in the Department of History at UNLV. The Event and Dinner Party was initiated by Dr. Tony Lei and Ms. Nancy Diaz. It was chaired by Dr. Tony Lei, Dr. R. D. Prabhu, Dr. Ram Singh, Mr. Tonie Sison, and Ms. Rita Vaswani. Joined with more than 36 hosts of the Dinner Party by community and organizational leaders, business exevutives and owners, and government officials, we had guests and participants more than 384 people.*3

As a Professor of Political Science of UNLV, Dina Titus is now a famous Senator of the State Nevada. She is also a State Senator Democratic Leader. On August 14, 2001, she said that she would run for Lieutenant Govenor if Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman ran for Nevada Governor. "She's brilliant, and she would be a great governor," Mayor Goodman siad of Senator Titus.

To her new honor and appointment as a Fellow of Public Administration Institution (PAI) of WBTI on August 15, 2001, Senator Titus agreed with District Judge Valorie Vega on "This position will undoubtedly provide me with avenues for exploring improvements in public services to which I'm most dedicated." It is really a valuable advancement that we may have such an appropriate and achieved individual like Dina as a colleague to our Institution. Senator Titus' expertise and good reputation in political science has been known locally and nationally. With her outstanding professional expertise and practical public administration experience, Senator Titus' acceptance as a fellow of PAI evidenced that in supporting Director Dr. William Thompason with Fellows Former Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa, Justices of the Supreme Court William Maupin and Nancy Becker, District Judges Mark Denton, Valorie Vega, Nancy Saitta, Jackie Glass, Michelle Leavitt, Jennifer Togliatti, Jessie Walsh, among others, they would form an excellent leadership team launching PAI into the next milleunnium for academic excellence and administrative practicality.

Dina Titus is now a famous Adjunct Professor of Administrative Strategies in the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute.

Professor Dina Titus, a native of Georgia, was educated at William and Mary, University of Georgia and received her Ph. D. from Florida State University. She currently teaches Political Science at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, and, in addition to these responsibilities, she is also a Nevada State Senator from District 7 in Clark County. She is on the Board of Directors of the Nevada Test Site Foundation and is a member of the Nevada-California Super Speed Ground Transportation Commission, Clark country Women’s Democratic Club, Education Commission of the States and the Nevada Commission on Participatory Democracy. Se was named the Spanos Outstanding Teacher at UNLV in 1985, was the Chairman of the Nevada Humanities Committee from 1984-19865 and in 1999 was the Nevada Arts Advocate of the Year.*3

Her most recent publication is Bombs in the Backyard: Atomic Testing and American Politics. The title of Dr. Titus’ Convocation lecture, “The Mushroom Cloud as an American Symbol,” attests to the extensive knowledge she has concerning America’s nuclear testing at the Nevada Test Site and the impact it has had on that region.*4

"The maturity of citizens society is the fundamental guarantee for the normal processing of democratic politics. In a citizens society, it depends highly on the team of public intellectuals. A good public intellectual interates peoples' opinion, analyze rationally, and points out wise perspectives and notice. Dina plays an important and significant responsibility of mission as an achieved intellectual at the same time as an important statewoman. Our Nevada is critically in need of these intellectuals and professionals in every kind of fields," said Dr. Tony Lei, President of WBTI.*5

LVRJ/wbti: Our golden words of wisdom for positive thinking!
by Tiffany Chang

*****To encourage a good writing and to inspire a good idea, you must have good readers and sincere friends!*1 One of the example has been shown at the bottom paragraphs of this feature article.

"People worry about the huge amount of creativity that is wasted---lost forever---because talented people are prevented from giving their best by their lack of ability to influence others effectively," wrote Dr. Ken Blanchard in the 'Foreword' of the book entitled "Winning Ways," written by Dick Lyles.*2 "The business world has changed; organizations are getting flatter and more networked. Today, the key to success is one's ability to exercise peer leadership. The most successful individuals shine because of their ability to influence, empower, and energize others. In essence, they embody the principles and practices of Winning Ways."

"Rapid changes in technology and global competition have combined to reshape the corporate landscape. Corporate management has responnded to these changes by iniatating sweeping changes. The introduction of new technology may be touted as a productivity booster and turn out instead to be a total bust. Whatever the problem may be, you're the one who has to deal with it on a daily basis. Even when new ideas are well thought out, there are still problems in putting them into practice within your group," George Fuller wrote in the 'Introduction' of his book, "Win/win management: leading people in the new workplace."*3

There are lots of common headaches most of supervisors and leaders have to confront. "It's easy to understand how the broad scope these problems can easily lead to a less than steller attitude toward your job. However, adoping a sense of futility only serve to make matters worse. On the other hand, maintain a positive attitude helps you place things in perspective and can make coping eith problems a lot easier to do."*4

To initiate our programs more effectively for the people and communities who are interested to participate the programs, we need to emphasize the spirit of positive attitude and positive thinking. The following are our golden words of wisdom which are worth reading collected by the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI):

***Jesus said, "Everyone who bears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. "Dear Tony & Judy:
I enjoyed immensely reading your WBTI website materials. Thank you for letting me know that one day we all can close our eyes and envision a world that is safe, peacefilled and healthy. Looking forward to meeting you someday so we could all working together toward that goal. With my very best to you,"*6 wrote Dr. Peter C.C. Wang to Dr. and Mrs. Tony Tung-tien Lei. Dr. Peter C.C. Wang is the Regent of Pacific Lutheran University and Chairman of the Wang Center LLC.

"Tony,

As you requested, I am sending Peter's proposal for your review.

Peter's proposal reflects his dream(and mine too) of many years. If successfully executed, it could help educate hundreds of millions kids of K-12 as well as adults. Nevada's fourth Congressional District is as unique as it is large: it is one of the most diverse districts in America. But as we traveled to every corner, we heard the same concerns and hopes. Nevadans want to get back to work. They want good-paying jobs and quality schools so their kids have a chance to succeed. They want to rest assured that their retirement is secure, and that Social Security and Medicare will be preserved and protected.

... We have tackled challenges together, and now we celebrate this victory together.
... I will work with anyone who has a good idea and is serious about working to better the lives of Nevadans.

Thank you to all the volunteers, organizers, and supporters who made this campaign possible. You were our grassroots backbone. Every door knocked, every phone call made, every extra hour of work you put in gave us the momentum to cross the finish line strong.

Without the support of my family, ... the inspiration to fight for a better future for all Nevada's children.

This is just the beginning. Hard work is ahead. Now is the time to make our voices heard in Washington.

Thank you for all you have done,

Steve

Tao was challenged by defense lawyer Chris Rasmussen, 41, who has practiced law for 13 years.

Tao fended off Rasmussen with a narrow win .

After receiving his law degree 20 years ago, Tao worked for a private firm in Los Angeles. He then took a job as a legislative assistant for Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., before becoming the senator's chief speech writer.

Eventually, Tao wanted to get back to practicing law and moved to Las Vegas. After working as a Clark County prosecutor and a deputy public defender, Tao sought the judgeship.

by Jessie Walsh, Teresa Malone, and Tiffany Chang

*****Mandalay Resort Group executives was apparently committed to an effort to persuade Chinese and U. S. government leaders to loan a pair of giant panda to Mandalay Bay for at least ten years. Las Vegas Review-Journal reported the story early in 2002.
"I write today to bring to your attention an exciting project in my home state of Nevada that will greatly enhance the city of Las Vegas, the relationship between our two countries, and the zoological research community," U. S. Senator Harry Reid wrote the Chinese Ambassador to the United States Li Zhao Xing in December, 2001. "If granted this privilege and opportunity, Mandalay Resort group will build a multimillion-dollar facility in Las Vegas designed specifically for the pandas with state-of-the-art conservation and research capabilities."
Four consulors of the Office of the Consulor General in San Francisco of the People's Republic of China came to visit Dr. Tony Lei, President of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) on July 20, 2002. A Dinner Party was held on the Saturday by the Office at the Harbor Palace Seafood Chinese Restaurant for the Chinese Community from Taiwan in Las Vegas leading by Dr. Tony Lei. They agreed with him to have the Consulor General holding a friendly dinner party with WBTI in meeting our four representatives form the State of Nevada in the Washington Scene. The faculty of Public Administration Institution (PAI) of WBTI is advancing the pioneering idea of this objective of business and research with a spirit of American entrepreneuship.
The estalishment of the relationship of between Nevada and Quinghai as sisters states is contributing significantly to the promotion of the quility of life of all our resident and visitors of Nevada. We are exciting to join the effort of this endeavor for our people! The Party was held by the Governor and delegation from Quinghai, China at the Sloan K of Orleans Casino and Hotel in the evening on June 26, 2002 in Las Vegas. Chinese ancestors provided shelter and food to travelers as they journeyed through Nevada to California in search of gold. Many of the Chinese people living in Nevada aided in the building of the railroad. The hard work and efforts of the Chinese people contributed to Nevada's economic development and tourism. We have moved forward and are joined together as sister states. Tonight continues our unity and acknowledges the basis for economic success lies in education. LVRJ/wbti: How this happened!
Tuesday, November 6, 2012 8:45 PM
From: "Barack Obama" Add sender to ContactsTo: "Tony T. Dr. Lei"

Friend --

I'm about to go speak to the crowd here in Chicago, but I wanted to thank you first.

I want you to know that this wasn't fate, and it wasn't an accident. You made this happen.

You organized yourselves block by block. You took ownership of this campaign five and ten dollars at a time. And when it wasn't easy, you pressed forward.

I will spend the rest of my presidency honoring your support, and doing what I can to finish what we started.

But I want you to take real pride, as I do, in how we got the chance in the first place.

Today is the clearest proof yet that, against the odds, ordinary Americans can overcome powerful interests.

There's a lot more work to do.

But for right now: Thank you.

Barack

There's too much at stake to sit on the sidelines and there's still time to make a difference -- keep going!

For a search of LVRJ/wbti: Chief Justice of Supreme Court William Maupin Presides District Court Institure Ceremony!
by Tiffany Chang

The Eighth Judicial Disrict Court investiture ceremony was held on February 15, 2001, at Cashman Center Theater. Allan Earl, Cheryl Moss, Lisa Brown, and Anthony Del Vecchio had been robed as District Justices (Family Division) after their oathes. Congratulations! Nevada Supreme Court Chief Justice William Maupin presiding the ceremony successfully. "Bill, I was impressed by the event under your leadership for its dignity, elegancy, and unitiveness, " Dr. Tony Lei chatted with Chief Justice Maupin in the reception at the Cashman Center Club Level Restaurant after the ceremony.
The judicial procession openned by the Honorable Chief Justice William Maupin. He presided the event and called order and welcome remarks. Desert Chorale and Sign Design Theater sang the "Star Spangled Banner". Pledge of Allegiance was done together with the Girl Scouts of Frontier Council with Brownie and Junior Troop #230, Daisy Troop #459, and Cadette Troop # 463. Gary Earl praised with the Invocation. A welcome to District Court was presented by the Chief Judge Hon. Gene Porter. Catie Black and Kim Ryan did the interpretation.
Guest Speakers were Neil Galatz, Esq. for Judge Earl; William Henderson, Esq. and Dr. Rena Nora for Judge Moss; Hon. Mark Denton, District Court Judge, La Deana Gamble, and Delois Williams for Judge Brown; and Thomas Del Vecchio, Dr. Dennis Lachary, James Del Vecchio, Esq., and Hon. William Voy, District Court Judge for Judge Del Vecchio. Administration of Oathes were held by Hon. Lloyd George, U.S. District Court Judge, Hon. Robert Rose, Nevada Supreme Court Justice, Hon. Gerald Hardcastle, District Court Judge, and Chief Justice William Maupin for each of the four Judges respectivelly. The Assistings were played by Rulon Earl, Dr. Rena Nora, Lachary Brown, and Officer Richard Tamex, respectivelly. The Desert Chorale presented the beautiful song named "This Is My Country" in the middle of the event.
The Robings were done by Denise Earl, Stephen Earl, Dr. Robert Earl for Judge Earl; Dr. Demetrio Nora for Judge Moss; Joan Brown, David Brown Jr., Jeannette Norton, Marcella Smith, Denise Mailer, and Kristina Matteo for Judge Brown; and Thomas Del Vecchio, Esq. for Judge Del Vecchio. Judges' Responses were spoken by the four installed Hon. District Judges with good performance. The Concluding Remarks was brought by Chief Judge Maufin with a period of significance and success.
Other than in the above, three were more VIP from judicial offices presented at the event: Justices of the Supreme Court Myron Leavitt, Dorah Agosti, Mirran Shearing; Judges of the District Court Michael Cherry, Gene Porter, Valorie Vega; Judges Bert Brown, Cedric Kerns, Jessie Walsh, Betsy Kolkoski, Stephen Dahl, Natalie Tyrrell; among others.
"God help me!" was the final sentence for each and every installing judges at their oathes. Certainly, God decides every thing. The assistant Democratic leader of United States Senate Senator Harry Reid wrote Dr. and Mrs. Tony Lei on January 11, 2001 from his office in Washington, D.C.: "The holiday season is a time for remembering the good things that have happened during the year, for reflecting on the many blessings of our lives, and for renewing the bonds of love and friendship that make our lives special."
The famous political leader from Nevada continued his literary and intimate writing that, "This year has been eventful for the Reid family. Our first child, Lana, and our three grandchildren live in the Washington area. Roary and three more of our grandchildren live in Las Vegas. Leif is in Reno with two more grandchildren and have just told us another is on the way. Josh just passed the bar, is living in Reno and also has announced our new daughter-in-law is expecting. Finally, our youngest, Key, lives in the Washington DC area with our newest grandchild. So, as you can see, we have the pleasure of grandchildren in each of our frequent stops, Las Vegas, Reno and Washington."
The Bible says: "Behold the fowls of the air: for they snow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" (Matthew 6:26) Take what the Senator says to Dr. Lei in his letter that, "On behalf of Landra and our family, I want to thank you for thinking of us during this holiday season. Each holiday greeting reminds us that we are truly fortunate to have so many friends and loved ones with whom to share this special time." And if a humble individual like Dr. Lei may be treated so friendly by our Senator Reid, obviously everyone of us in Nevada would be taken care by his extended kindness. And this be our mode: "In god is our trust!"
His love to his family and his friends revealled his dignified and humane spirit through his words in the letter. For a great and powerful person like him to have such a beautiful and kind heart is really the glory of God. "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves," says the Bible. (Romans 12:9-10) At the end of the letter, the famous U.S. Senator says that, "The Reid family has been richly blessed and we look forward to the years ahead. I hope that the season brings happiness and good fortune to you and your loved ones. With warmest regards."
Winning the election without any opponent, Judge Jessie Walsh will have the second term of her honorable position in the Las Vegas Municipal Court. She wrote Dr. Lei on February 7, 2001: "Thank you for the lovely congratulatory letter. I am fortunate and honored to have the support of people like you." Her Campaign kick-off Celebration party with Special Guest appearance from Mayor Oscar Goodman, won thunders of applause from a great deal of very important persons who presented in the Grand Ballroom at the Suncoast Hotel and Casino. She continued in her letter that, "Becuase of the enormous support and confidence I have received from you and the citizens of Las Vegas, I will serve as Judge in Las Vegas Municipal Court, Department 6 for the next two years. I am honored to serve in this capacity and am dedicated to administer justice in a fair and expeditious fashion. It is always a pleasure to hear from you. Good luck to you in all your endeavors." God certainly is in control! To God be the glory!

LVRJ/wbti: Graziadio Family Heartfelt Concern for Storm Sandy Victims!
Thursday, November 1, 2012 10:26 PM
From: This sender is DomainKeys verified"Dean Linda Livingstone, Ph.D." Add sender to ContactsTo: tojulei@yahoo.com

Dear Graziadio Family Member,

My heart goes out to the millions who are still without power in the Northeast and the many communities from New England to North Carolina struggling to dig out from the debris and damage following landfall this week of Storm Sandy. We know from the news that this storm is one of the region’s most devastating ever. As I watch and read the accounts, I cannot help to remember Katrina and its horrifying impact. There is no part of the country that is not affected when nature acts so destructively. We all know someone directly touched by Sandy’s fury, even here in Los Angeles, be it family members, friends, colleagues or classmates.

When such disasters strike it is comforting to know that there are so many willing to help those who have been affected. I encourage you to use your alumni and professional network. Do not hesitate to reach out to classmates, professors and the University if we can be of assistance.
You have numerous connections through the Graziadio School that may be in the area or that know someone who is. Your network can be a resource for information and for ensuring those in harm’s way are safe and secure. I am also encouraging all in our community to give in this time of need to one of the many worthy organizations that are meeting the needs of the storm victims. The people displaced by this storm will need food, clothing, medical supplies and any number of things in the coming weeks.
If the University can be of assistance and you wonder where to start, contact the Graziadio School Office of Alumni Relations at GSBMalumni@pepperdine.edu, or 310-568-5532.
Please join me in keeping in your prayers and hearts the millions in the Northeast enduring this storm’s aftermath. With Thanksgiving, Christmas and the Holiday season approaching, they will particularly need our common humanity during this season.
Bless You,

Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D.

Creative innovation and entrepreneurial spirit have been two scientific methodology and stratagems for the prosperity and development of information technology and business in America. The late Dr. Peter F. Drucker inspired us that: Innovation is very important. No good business can survive without successful innovation during a period of time! He emphazised the innovative marketing for businesses and institutions. With our Advisory Board and Faculty Members, we initiate, develop, and implement it together with the brilliance of Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Among the YouTub, Facebook, Wikipedia, and others, we have a difference. We help promote the visibility and popularlity locally, nationally, and internationally for people, cities, and projects. Everybody may like to share a wish and practice that, preparation plus opportunity can bring us a luck.

For a special institute like ours, the integration of ingenuity, entrepreneurship, integrity, and modern management is not asking for what we may get but for what we may influence. The influence has been positive and righteous to our people and communities.

We all came to learn in America. With Harvard, Princeton, Pepperdine, and among others, we belong to a family of alumni associations. The angel came, influenced, and saved. She is the hero. A thing of peace with love is the joy of people on our beautiful earth!

To serve and help others with a gracious heart will bring us a lifetime happiness of learning!

In righteousness we shall be established. In this 21th Century new era and society, we need economic growth, but we also need to establish and promote creativity, fairness and Justice, serve and love, educational knowledge, and spirit engineering. We wish and affirm that a pure spring may prosper and enrich our splendid and golden country through: the elegant properties of freedom, democracy, entrepreneurship, and justice; the power of public service that based on 'Knowledge is the power of righteousness!'; the advancement of technology, innovation, and civilization; and the spirit that 'Knowledge calls, ultimately, for a life of service!'

Judy and I thank heartily the advice, contribution, and cooperation of all our Boards and Faculty members and Asian American Community. The sky is all beautiful in Nevada, California, and Texas today! Wish everybody a joyful, lucky, healthy, and prosperous future in these coming splendid and hopeful days!

***** There is no more noble occupation in the world than to assist another human being--to help someone succeed. ---Alan Loy McGinnis

At the dawn of this new era, the emphasis has shifted from the physical and mechanical labor required by the Industrial Revolution to the mental labor needed to sustain the new Information Revoluation. In an organization, the people and minds have become the most precious assets for its development, innovation, and prosperity.

Since the beginning in the fall of 1937, Pepperdine University has experienced remarkable progress and achievement the realm of higher education. The faculty of the University seek to instill not only a will to achieve excellence, but also a spirit of philanthrophy and servanhood. Designed nicely, the Malibu campus of Pepperdine has frequently been described as the most beautiful one in the world. Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) was created as an inspirational medium for academic research and community service under the affirmation and creed of Pepperdine University.*1

"Our greatest credit at Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) is our people -- not facades or fountains, not landsacapes or lakescapes, but people -- faculty, advisory members, administration, and a host of friends," says President Dr. Tony Lei. "On the publications of WBTI through multimedia, locally, nationally, and internationally, we have featured many of our own: U. S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao; Governor of Nevada Kenny Guinn; U. S. Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign; U. S. Representatives James Gibbons and Shelley Berkley; Dr. Andrew Benton; Dr. Charles Runnels; Lt. Governor Lorraine Hunt; Chief Federal Judge Lloyd Geroge; Attorney General Brian Sandoval; Justices of the Supreme Court William Maupin and Nancy Becker; Nevada Senator and UNLV Professor of Political Science Dina Titus; District Judges Stewart Bell, Mark Denton, Valorie Vega, Nancy Saitta, Michelle Leavitt, Jessie Walsh, Jennifer Togliatti, and Jackie Glass; Dr. E. Lee Bernick and Dr. G. Keong Leong; Mayor Oscar Goodman, Clark County Commissioner and Chairman Rory Reid; Mayor Michael Montandon, Sheriff of Southern Nevada Bill Young, Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court Michael Douglas, Ms. Wendy Yu-ping Wu, Dr. Feng-wei Lai, Nevada Assemblywoman Valerie Weber, Dr. William N. Thompson; among others (the names are written at random)." *2

"Enriching our research and community service process were made possible by these friends who joined and supported this academic institute. WBTI is really a chain of dedicated individuals who joined to research, serve, support, and to give. We take great pride of our people, including our outstanding faculty. They are some of the best in the world. We are sincere servers to help improve the quality of life of all our residents and visitors of Nevada," expresses heartily Dr. Tony Lei.

"I want to thank you for my recent appointment as an Associate Fellow of the Public Administration Institution by Washington Business and Technology Institute. It is certainly an honor to be acknowledged by you for my commitment to serving this community. I look forward to expanding my public service by working with you and the Institute to continue to better our community. Your dedication is a wonderful example of what others should strive to accomplish," wrote LVSCP Attorney Natalie Tyrrell to Dr. Tony Lei from her Office. "I want to share with you my favoriate quote. It is by the great Winston Churchill. It exemplifies the driving force by which I start out each day. He said: 'We all make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.' Thank you for this honor and the wonderful dinner celebration." Natalie is now a Justice of the Peace of the Clark County Justice Court.

Community participation is an asset for enhancing public service. True leadership comes from knowing when one needs to depend on other's knowledge. Leaders are individuals who help people understand their motivations for doing things. They set the direction and understand why the direction is important. Dr. Tony Lei believes that in education leadership is a call to help others. He has the quality that inspires people to do what needs to be done and to feel good about doing it. Balanced with his outstanding academic expertise, he is a servant of God for community service, sincere and humble but not weak.*3

By loving, we are enriched. Love in action is service above self. Make service a part of character and experience the abundant reward that comes from serving others. Let us fan the flame of service in ever-increasing circles. With this, we can envision a community that is safe, peaceful, and healthy. District Judge of the Family Court Cheryl Moss said that, "I've remained dedicated to serving the community, and I've been inspired by the leadership, wisdom, and guidance of WBTI's Prsident Dr. Tony Lei. I recognized that Dr. Tony Lei's accomplishments have demonstrated that taking part in the community with ones kindness and selfless service can contribute excellence as well as make a difference in the society."

One of the important accomplishment of Dr. Tony Lei as a famous Professor of Management is the research and findings on computer education, institutional management, and the art of leading of his three notable books entitled "Information Management", "Business Management", and " Management Behavior". "A good leader should acquire the ability of and execute the following seven management functions: 1. Planning: to plan important task project of this unit; 2. Organizing; to master the organoizational system of this unit; 3. Staffing: to recruit the appropriate staff members; 4. Directing: to direct the people on the staff of this unit; 5. Coodinating: to coordinate the benefits and conflicts of this unit in order to attain sound cooperation; 6. Representing: to reprent this unit in order to coordinate outside concerns and relationships; 7. Budgeting: to establish and control the budget of this unit; 8. Systematizing: to use management information system throuh computers and multimedia for our modern business," says Dr. Tony Lei.

"There are three models of leadership that a good leader, especially the leader of an association, may emphasize: A. Creative Leadership: The leader takes the most importance of holding the great principles to develop the future endeavor of this unit. (1) Sense of Mission -- to make the members not work as a job but high degree of the "concept of value"; (2) Foresightness -- to develop the future blueprint for this unit; (3) Teamwork Spirit -- to motivate the cooperation and success of the whole group; (4) Orientation by Objectives -- to encourage all the members unit put full effort on its clear and definite objectives," continues Dr. Tony Lei.

"B. Humanity Leadership: the leader emphasizes the importance of his or her relationship with the abordinates. He or she motivates their work morality and spirit. Therefore, he or she should understand, emphasize, and hold of humanity in order to promote everyone's potentiality to endeavor for this unit. The key points are: 1. Trust; 2. Delegation of authority; 3. The Second Chance Theory (to pardon your subordinate);
4. Encouragement; 5. Help and Care; 6. Support and Assistance; 7. Training and Education.

"C. Democratic Leadership: The leader respects humanity and allows individual development to make his or her group members cooperate and work by division of labor with self-motion and self-revelation. Its specialties are:

1. The leader endeavors to win followers by himself or herself with good personality and emphasizes knowledge and experience as the foundation of leading. 2. Subordinates have a full opportunity to participate decisionmaking and to suggest good idea. 3. The leader puts attention to the benefit of the subordinates, understand their needs, focuses the importance of the people. 4. The leader gives only some direction on the work planning, and leave the details of the work processing to the subordinates. 5. The leader has full opportunity to participate in employees activities, and they get along with each other very well. 6. The communication between the leader and subordinates is fully in good condition, and they enjoy fruitful accomplishment with good understanding. 7. The division of labor is decided by the group and the subordinates have the right selecting their work accompanists with the direction and coordination of their leader by their side. 8. The leader evaluates the performance of his or her subordinates objectively and renders fair judgement in giving prize or punishment."

"In practically, the effectiveness of the above leadership can be attained by its flexible application in accordance with the right time, place, matter, people, and objective situation, " Dr. Tony Lei points out.*4

"In righteousness you will be established."*5 "In this 21th Century new era and society, we need economic growth, but we also need to establish and promote creativity, fairness and justice, serve and love, educational knowledge, and spirit engineering. We wish that a pure spring may prosper and enrich our splendid and golden country through: the power of public service that based on 'knowledge is the power of righteouness,'; the advancement of technology, entreneurship, and innovation; and the spirit that 'knowledge calls, ultimately, for a life of service'," says Dr. Tony Lei.

"Thank you for my recent appointment as an Associate Fellow of Public Administration and Chairperson of the Community Relations Study Committee of the Washington Business and Technology Institute. It is truly an honor to be a part of this organization, as it plays an important role in identifying, researching, and addressing the issues facing our community.
Your leadership and dedication to the community are to be commended, and I look forward to working with you and the Institute in this new capacity. Thank you again for affording me this opportunity," wrote Councilwoman Lynette McDonald from her Office of the Las Vegas City Council to Dr. Tony Lei.
