Last week, Congress passed a Farm Bill with strong, bipartisan support in both the House and Senate � strong enough to override the President�s certain veto of the bill. I believe the Farm Bill will become law and it cannot happen soon enough. Rising food and fuel prices have put a strain on all Americans, but especially on low-income working Nevada families who are struggling to put food on the table. On average, families are paying $3,000 more per year for gasoline than they were seven years ago and 15% to 30% more for basic food items like bread, eggs and meat.*3

First, we'll have a dramatic presentation to honor America's soldiers past and present. Joining us will be a very special guest, Senator John Ensign, to share his thoughts on the meaning of Memorial Day. An Honor guard from Nellis Air Force Base will also join us. After the presentation, you and your family will be able to enjoy festivities in our parking lot where we'll have interactive games and events.

Most importantly, we'll be blessing our veterans and active duty troops with special care packages valued over $200. If you know of someone in your family or our community you'd like to honor, please email Pastor Joel Garcia to register with their name and information, and we'll provide one of our care packages to them. The registered person or a member of their family must be present on Sunday night to receive the gift. We'll also reserve special seating for those who register.
