He believes that we are wise to expand our marketing efforts and focus on developing markets in places such as Asia. The above result is just received at 5:21 p.m. today on October 20, 2007. The article was written by Nevada State Treasurer Kate Marshall. (There are two more examples at the next 8th paragraph.) Brilliant, the leading search engines on Internet!

Innovation is practical for a real need. It is not a random process. "When it works, it works because someone has identified a real need, and found a way to bring new ideas or new technologies to bear on that need," said Lewis W. Lehr. An innovator's life is governed by "to create" lists. She or he is incessantly pursuing new possibilities and refinning existing ones.

"Business has only two functions," wrote the late Professor Peter Drucker, "marketing and innovation."

"One of my interests since I've been in this position on March 27, 2004 is to encourage the mutual cooperation and development of tourism and business between Nevada and the Ansian Countries," said Associate Professor Barbara E. Buckley of the Graduate School of Business and Administration (GSBPA) of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI).

Supported by the Advisory Board and faculty members of WBTI since then with wisdom of cooperation and publicity through articles, its missions helped her win the election as Speaker of the Nevada Assembly in last November.

Our coming work performance to some significant projects will be feature articles for the visibility and popularity of some international cities through the leading search engines on Internet: (1) Beijing, (2) Soel, (3) Taipei, (4) Macau, (5) Bangkok, and (6) Clark County ("Las Vegas"). Tourism and business are our best priorities for the International Cities Business Council (ICBC) of WBTI, nothing much about politics. The late Dr. Peter F. Drucker inspired us that, "Innovation is very important. No good business can survive without successful innovation during a period of time!" Nevada is the fountain of hospitality and touring business. Macau is a recent practice with Nevada to have great prosperity in tourism and economic development. Now, Nevada Assemblywoman Francis Allen is a Regional Marketing Administrator of Korea of the AMI and Advisor of the ICBC of WBTI. For innovation and breakthrough in the field of business, the wise men may have a bright and beautiful sky!

To encourage tourism and business is a world-wide value for every country in this world, not just for Nevada! Volunteerly on a non-profit and non-partisan basis, we are pleased to assist the promotion of this endeavor. We love heartily the world that we are living with!

Innovation is one of the most important traits for the prosperity of American business. The time has come for our Pan Pacific and Asian countries to emphasize and catch it as soon as possible!

Imagination may help bring us with creativity, happiness, and prosperity!
By Jennifer Kung

To develop immaginative power,
we must specialize in our own fields
but be alert to new ideas from any source
and continually seize and set down our
inspirational flashes
when they come to us.

---Carl Holmes*1

***** "Every great advance in science has issued from a new audacity (dare) of the imagination." ---John Dewey (*From 'The Quest For Certainty'.)

Imagination is important for an individual and institution. It is the ability to perceive opportunity. Imagination may produce creativity. Creativity contributes profit and prosperity for an institution. Where imagination and innovation are encouraged, it floirish. Innovation is doing something different. Innovation comes from people and it requires insight.

We are pleased to quote the following five short but meaningful ones:

*** The most interesting people are the people with the most interesting pictures in their minds. ---Earl Nightingale
*** Imagination is more important than knowledge. ---Albert einstein
*** The human race is governed by its imagination. ---Napoleon
*** Inspiration and imagination go hand in hand. ---Annonymous
*** Every vital organization owes its birth and life to an exciting and daring idea. ---James B. Conant

It's our pleasure to post a short story and quotation from "Speaker's Source Book" by Glenn Van Ekeren:

What is serendipity? It is discovering something totally unrelated to the problem you are trying to solve. Call it an accident, dumb luck, or fate--serendipity has given our world great products, new hope, and better ways of doing things.
Foe example, Columbus discovered America while searching for a route to India. It is said that the American Indians, finding no water for cooking, tapped a maple tree and made the first maple wyrup as the sap boiled down. Pioneers, traveling westward, stopped for water and found gold nuggets in a stream. These are all examples of serendipity.
However, the classic example of serendipity must go to George Ballas. As George Ballas drove his car through a car wash, ... Why not use a nylon cord, whirling at high speed to trim the grass and weeds around trees and the house? Bingo! the Weedeater was born!
... Finally, in 1971, Ballas invested his own money in the first thirty- pound Weedeaster. ...
Before long, Weedeater, Inc., grew into a multimillion-dollar international corporation. Yes, one idea can be worth a fortune. Weedeater, Inc., was born from a simple idea in a car wash. *2

Do you believe Chairman of Apple Computer John Scully said that, "Innovation has never come through bureaucracy and hierarchy. It's always come from individuals"?

"Adelson said Cotai and Macau will combine to make the Chinese region the Las Vegas of the Far East," posted the LVRJ on May 28, 2006. "More images Macau took a giant step toward becoming the Las Vegas of Asia with yesterday's opening of the world's biggest casino. The $2.4 billion Venetian Macao Resort Hotel is the centerpiece of a $12 billion 'integrated resort' development - the first Las Vegas-style megacasino on a sliver land called the Cotai Strip,"
posted the 'Business & Money' on August 29, 2007. It was reported by Suzette Parmley,

"Imagination disposes of everything; it creates beauty, justice, and happiness, which is everything in the world," said Blaise Pascal.*5

In essence, they embody the principles and practices of Winning Ways." *7

In this 21st Century new era and society, we need economic growth and personal prosperity, but we need also to establish and promote creativity, fairness and justice, serve and love, educational knowledge, and spirit engineering. We wish that a pure fountain may prosper and enrich our splendid and silver country through: the power of public service that based on knowledge is the power of rightousness; the advancement of technology, entreprenueship, and innovation; and the spirit that knowledge calls, ultimately, for a life of service.*8

"Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) has endeavored to academic research, community service, and humane spirit since its establishment in January 8, 1996. Through its honors to distinguished individuals of the country, WBTI has helped promote a vision and practice for Nevada to be a better place for residence and business," said former Nevada Assemblywoman and now Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani.*9

"It's our pleasure to invite a famous person of Assemblywoman Francis Allen's good caliber whose expertise, integrity, and nice personal traits will help bring this Institute wih a perspective of international cooperation and development," said President Dr. Tony Lei of Washington Business and Technology Institute on September 4, 2007. (A concise note.) Governor Jim Gibbons has sent a letter to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Chuck Conner requesting a Secretarial Disaster Declaration for all 17 Nevada counties. "Is a resume an important aspect to getting a job interview? If you think yes, then why do so many people spend so little time preparing one? If you think no, then read no further. A resume is essential for two reasons. One, it helps you tell your story to potential employers. Two, it helps potential employers match your qualifications to their needs. Your story is unique. No two resumes are alike and the person whose resume best fits the needs of the employer will get a call for an interview. How can you be sure your resume will result in an interview?" wrote Tom Cairns in a feature article which was posted on the Pepperdine CareerNetwork Newsletter by the GSBM of Pepperdine University.*1 "(1) Only submit a resume for positions that employers have posted as open. ---Avoid sending or emailing resumes to employers that do not have job openings. That tactic may occasionally result in a job interview. However, the majority of time employers will discard it. If you want your resume to be considered you need to respond to positions that the employer has posted as open. (2) You need to make sure your resume closely matches the requirements of the job that is posted."

It is our pleasure to help publicize one of the community sponsored events by Pepperdine University for the public, Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus to Speak at Pepperdine:

"In his only public appearance in the Los Angeles area, Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank of Bangladesh, will lecture on 'Social Enterprise: Doing Well by Doing Good' at Pepperdine University School of Law from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Caruso Auditorium on the Malibu campus," posted the above website by the GSBM of Pepperdine University.*3

"Due to overwhelming response, there is no more seating in the Caruso Auditorium. Interested guests may register to view the speech live in classrooms, where the speech will be telecast. Yunus was awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for pioneering microcredit梪sing collateral-free loans of small amounts to help millions of families out of poverty. Borrowers receive modest amounts of cash, often as little as $20, to start or grow a small business. Attendance of Yunus' lecture is free and open to the public, though reservation is required."

Addressing Nevada抯 Foreclosure Crisis
I assure you that I will continue working to protect Nevada!
By Harry M. Reid*1

Friends,

Our country is facing a foreclosure crisis and Nevada is being hit especially hard. With one out of every 165 homes being foreclosed, our state has the highest foreclosure rate in the nation. This not only affects those who are being forced out of their homes, but our communities and economy as well.*2

This is a complex issue that will require a multi-layered solution that no one agency government, private, or non-profit can solve alone. While in Reno last week I called a meeting of state, federal, and agency leaders, as well as representatives of the lending community, to come up with a way we can work together to help Nevadans with foreclosure problems. We identified Clark, Douglas, Elko, Nye, and Washoe counties as the areas of our state where foreclosure rates have increased the most, in some casesby as much as 300 percent over the last two years. To address the problem, we will be setting up mobile resource centers in these five counties. Housing experts, lenders, nonprofit organizations and others will be on-hand to help those at risk of losing their homes. For more information you can contact the forclosure hotline at 888-995-HOPE or locally in Nevada at 800.... As always, please feel free to contact any of my offices for more information about these centers.

Additionally, in Washington I am working to secure federal funding for housing counseling agencies so they can help families in Nevada and around the country that were misled into abusive loans stay in their homes. Think about this: for less than one day抯 spending in Iraq we could help keep 130,000 families in their homes; that for one week of spending on the Iraq war roughly $2.3 billion the federal government could provide housing counseling agencies the resources they need to help 1.7 million families, about the same number of Adjustable Rate Mortgage resets we are expecting in the next 14 months. The costs to these families, Nevada communities and homeowners brought by foreclosures are too high to stand idly by.

This problem is real and it is time for solutions. As promised, I will continue to work with state, federal, and agency partnerships to identify ways to help get our state through these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Harry Reid

[[[ Fighting the Effects of Global Warming in Nevada

Last week I was in Las Vegas to participate in a field hearing of the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Public Lands and Forests, chaired by Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon. The hearing focused on major environmental threats to the Great Basin, including the effects of global warming, drought, and wildfires. To read my statements at the hearing, please click here. [{http://reid.senate.gov/} on 101607.]

In a state with extremely limited water resources, the problems posed by global warming are becoming more and more apparent. As our average temperature rises each year, average precipitation levels in the Southwest continue to fall and the natural cycles between wet and dry become more intense. The longer and deeper droughts have left our state vulnerable to bigger and deadlier wildfires. Invasive plants and species that thrive in this warmer climate are corrupting our state抯 biodiversity and the low water levels in our rivers and lakes threaten to make them mere memories.

Global warming is an issue that threatens our livelihoods, our economy, and the beauty of the Nevada landscape. I applaud Senator Wyden's use of the Senate Subcommittee on Public Lands and Forests to focus attention on these crucial matters, and I assure you that I will continue working to protect Nevada. ]]] *3

*1. About U. S. Senator Harry Reid: U. S. Senator Harry M. Reid is the Majority Leader (the Democratic Leader) in the U. S. Senate. He is a man who commands the respect of colleagues from both parties, and a powerful advocate for Nevada’s middle-class families.
But he still lives in Searchlight … and he is still guided by the lessons and values he learned there.
The Las Vegas Sun newspaper summarized Reid’s story by saying that he 鉮as gone from underdog to Senate’s top dog. ?Parade Magazine, the nation’s largest weekly magazine, identified Senator Reid as one of a handful of leaders in Washington with 鉯ntegrity and guts. ?
Since Nevadans elected him to the Senate in 1986, Harry Reid has developed a reputation as a consensus builder and a skillful legislator. Even his Republican colleagues praise his reasoned, balanced approach.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) has said, 鉝e all respect Senator Reid. He is one of the moderate voices around here who tries to get things to work. ?
And former GOP Leader Trent Lott said, 鉎arry Reid is out there finding a solution. I enjoy working with him very much. ?
He was elected to the Senate in 1986, and re-elected in 1992, 1998 and 2004. He has served as the chairman or senior Democratic member on several important committees and subcommittees.
Reid is a tireless worker, and it isn’t unusual for him to be the first Senator of either party to arrive at the Capitol in the morning and the last to go home at night.
U. S. Senator Harry Reid has been honored as a Professor of Administrative Strategies of the Graduate School of Business and Public Administration of Washington Business and Technology Institute (WBTI) since May 31, 2003.

Pepperdine MBA moves up in WSJ national ranking
WBTI helped searve to live up Dean Dr. Linda Livingstone of Pepperdine University with visiability and popularlity through the leading search engines on Internet!
By Tiffany Chang

"The Graziadio School advanced one spot in this year's Wall Street Journal/Harris Interactive annual survey of regional corporate recruiters. The MBA program earned 44th place in the rankings. Corporate recruiters who recruit primarily in their home office region or neighboring states determine how the MBA programs surveyed are placed. This year's mix of public and private institutions spread across the U.S. constitutes the annual survey's largest pool of schools," states the Graziadio School of Business and Management, Pepperdine University.*1

"To be recognized again by corporate recruiters as one of the top MBA programs in the country is a significant accomplishment," said Dean Linda A. Livingstone. "Our Office of Alumni & Career Services has worked very diligently with our faculty and corporate recruiters to ensure the best employment opportunities for our students and alumni. Innovations such as Graziadio Talent Online (GTO), with over 2,000 registered recruiters searching our talent database, are a service to our MBAs." *2

The Graziadio School continues to build upon strong relationships it cultivates with companies and recruiters, along with reaching out to alumni to engage with their employers. "These initiatives make a significant difference, both in the quality of our students entering the job market and in nurturing valued-added relationships with companies who hire our graduates," said Dean Dr. Linda A. Livingstone.*3
